It's a head scratcher why he wasn't last time out. There are few Other Stage headliners since he subbed it in 2014 that are bigger than he is.

    *Waits for Spotify stats.

I felt like he was the Other headliner as that year all the stages were late due to the storm. Skrillex needed the late night dance slot. Like him or not, he is an incredible talent with a hugely diverse back catalogue and an ability to do rock/pop/funk/acoustic. Not afraid to completely rework his classics. I think he would still get a huge crowd on the pyramid in any slot

  2. Great year for us, the weather was perfect, paced it well. Highlights were Kraungbin, Macca, Pet Shop Boys, Ziggy Marley opening and a lot of wandering, chatting with strangers and random dancing etc. it was too crowded at times - never not been able to get near the Stone Circle on a Wednesday (spent it at the Park instead) or Williams Green on a Thursday (spent in SE corner instead)

    Some details from Horace:

'The Specials. Terry. This is what happened.

We had it all planned out. Make the album we were going to do in 2020 – a reggae album.
Record in Los Angeles in November. We had the studio booked, flights paid for, accommodation sorted. Roger Rivas from The Agrolites was going to co-produce. Shepard Fairey was going to do the cover. Lynval, still recovering from his spinal surgery earlier in the year, was over in the UK and raring to go. Terry had the framework for 8 tunes. Confidence was high. We were set to meet up with Nikolaj and make magic. This was in September. Terry e-mails everyone and says he’s in bed with a stomach bug and can’t do the first week of pre-production sessions. No big deal, we can knock everything back a week. We’re not due to fly out until November 4th. The next week, Terry is no better and is in hospital. There’s not much we can do except wait for him to get better. Sunday October 2nd and I get a phone call from Manager Steve.
    And everything turns to shit.
Terry’s illness is a lot worse than we thought.
He has been diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas which has spread to his liver.
This is serious. Like life-threatening serious.
He has developed diabetes due to his pancreas being attacked. This has to be treated first, then it’s a regime of chemotherapy.
There is nothing anyone can do. Everything is put on hold.
Terry is emphatic that no-one be told about this. If anyone asks, he’s managing his diabetes.
The chemo treatment starts favourably but it seems that it would be March 2023 at the earliest before we’d be in any position to work. He is in and out of hospital to stabilise the diabetes issue and also to manage pain.
    It then goes quiet.
Beginning of December and reports are not good. Terry has lost a lot of weight and is very frail. His friend Ian Broudie visits and phones Manager Steve. He fears that Terry is slipping away.
15th December and Manager Steve drives up to London to visit. He calls me on his return journey and says things are not looking promising. Terry is dying. The next day he is put on morphine and is more-or-less unconscious for most of the time. I thought it would be best for me to go and visit but Lindy, his wife, advises against it. She has held her phone to Terry’s ear so that his sisters and Lynval can say their goodbyes. She suggests I do the same. So, I did. It was tough.
Terry died around half past 5 the next evening, Sunday 18th December.
The world has lost a unique voice and I have lost a good friend.
    Horace.'

    Awful 😔

He sang the Soundtrack to my youth. My mother died of pancreatic cancer, it’s a devastating disease 😢

I had them pencilled in as my headliners this year, but had a last minute urge to give Billie Eilish a shot. I don’t regret that choice as feel I now understand Billie and her music a lot more (and the crowd around me were bouncing!) but glad to have caught Paul now.

A Saturday/Sunday afternoon on the Pyramid would be incredible, and a great singalong. 🤞

They played the Other stage mid afternoon in perhaps 2016. Seem to remember it was muddy, wet and grey and I prefer them with a smaller crowd, more intimate. Have seen them several times on their own tours. Didn’t bother with the acoustic last year as thought it would be crowded and went with Kraungbin/Foals.

Timing question: I have a 4 p tent because that's what I managed to grab but would prefer a 2p . Timing wise, the resale of WV is before the cancellation deadline, historically speaking, am I remembering right? This way I can try for a 2p, keep the 4 if it doesn't work/get the money back if it works? (I know scount tents shouldn't be a problem but wouldn't mind one of the fancier options)

Yes you can cancel till May £25 charge per tent

I expect a few people accidentally bought more than they need in groups and some will be in the process of cancelling with See now. Some might pop up over the next week as and when that happens. Worth keeping an eye on it.

Agree, we bought bell tents this year in the resale. We probably have one to go back in the pot as it’s very easy to overbook. Previous years  they have just popped back up on the page every now and then as people refund. They must hold a few cancellations back for the April resale

Hi when I booked it asked for a group name

so if we’ve got 2 bookings between 8 of us (4 2 man tents) if we put the same group name will we be together? Even if the bookings are separate?

or is the group name meaningless?

Yes we've done this, it does work, i emailed See later on to double check (and get a  confirmation from them)

If anyone can shed some light on this I’d be really grateful …. Does anyone know if you’re able to be driven in to the Sticklinch campsite and dropped off by someone who isn’t staying and doesn’t have a car parking pass? Like literally just to be dropped off at the parking site/entrance?

No, WV certainly not, you wouldn't get past a certain point without a car parking sticker. Sticklinch officially would be the same, you'd have to go to the main drop off point and lug your stuff through.  But... there are a lot of other "glamping" options on the road into Sticklinch so you might be able to pull over and jump out, i can't quite remember...   If it was me i would buy a car park ticket for £55 just to be able to drop off (and pick up) in the car park! You only need your ticket at the actual entrance.

Oh no that’s making me think I should book Sticklinch instead then! It just feels an age away from the nightlife which is where I’ll end up til early hours! Are they small for 3 people? Hmm decisions

The railway line is quite literally a fast track across site. Ok for 3 I’d say or a tight 4

Scraped figures from the pre-pitched accomodation site from tomorrow - e.g. there is 210 tipis available to be booked

    tipi - 210

    worthy view: 13020

    2 person scout 1590
    4 person scout 560
4 person glasotnbury bell tent 730
    6 person scout 480
    8 person scout 225

    sticklinch: 6490

    2 person scout 280
    2 person basic podpad 150
    2 person yurt 50
    2 person bellepad 90
    4 person bell tent 355

Interesting! Certainly gives you your odds? How did you get these figures?
