  1. Wonder if they'd get away with subbing or being a "co-headline" like The Kooks this year I can't see them being booked to headline for some reason, another decent band though!
  2. Nothing here either! Only day I can feasibly do is Gorillaz (more for Idles and Turnstile)
  3. Sam Fender was a great booking just because of how his stock is still rising, Kasabian similar on the comeback with Serge, Bombay felt pretty weak though (might just be lofty expectations for Truck though considering it's really Y Not's little brother). I like The Libertines but their stock right now is not the same as Sam Fender and Kasabian, can still see them being booked though. I can see us getting one 'slower' headliner (Paolo Nutini, Lewis Capaldi, Bastille etc), one 'older rock' headliner (The Libertines, Jamie T, Courteeners, Bloc Party etc) and one other (Foals, Royal Blood, The Wombats etc). Chuck in some Fontaines DC, Nothing But Thieves, Wet Leg, Declan McKenna etc and I'm sold I'd love to see a bit more from The Pit next year too, get some up and coming heavier bands like Trash Boat, Boston Manor, Bob Vylan, Loathe, Modern Error etc in there
  4. I'm surprised Frank Turner hasn't turned up at this for over a decade, surely due an appearance. Would love something like this: Thursday - The Wombats Main Stage: Friday - Royal Blood, DMAs, Pale Waves Saturday - Jamie T, Nothing But Thieves, Becky Hill Sunday - Paolo Nutini, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Declan McKenna Market Stage: Friday - Beabadoobee Saturday - Self Esteem Sunday - The Cribs
  5. Prediction: Haim / Jamie T & The Wombats (co-headlines) / Lewis Capaldi Thursday: The Vaccines Hopes: Idles / Jamie T & Nothing But Thieves (co-headlines) / Foals Thursday: The Wombats There's so many others around; Fontaines DC, Gerry Cinnamon, The Libertines, Wolf Alice, Paolo Nutini, Courteeners)
  6. Good weekend overall, Sam Fender & Kasabian were brilliant, Sea Girls, Sports Team and Kelis were good on the main stage. Oxford Symphony Orchestra is a great fun set every year. Probably my main highlights, really don't get the Easy Life hype unfortunately. Was pretty easy getting in and out of Purple car park, just got to wait ages for the trains every so often but very simple! Zodiac Fields didn't seem that worth it this year; toilets awful most of the time, long queues for showers, felt pretty oversold compared to last time. It is good that you can pop in and out of the arena though as the Arena toilets are even worse! So location is probably the main reason to go for it.
  7. Seems the main stage has got an upgrade this year:
  8. Very true, though have seen today they specifically mention space on this poster they sent out, strange one!
  9. Yeah the whole point of bringing a gazebo is for a group of chavs to steal it first day right?! For real though, a bit unnecessary, if they had concerns about the amount of tents to field space ratio they should have thought about it. Can't see any other reason to ban them? Hoping the Friday rain moves forward a day! Getting in the excited mood now, updated myself a little Truck playlist on Spotify with bands I think I'll get to see. Main bands for me: Sam Fender, Sports Team, Courting, Pulled Apart By Horses (and will definitely catch the Oxford Symphony Orchestra and Mr Motivator like every other year!) Others: Yard Act, Spector, Sea Girls, Sigrid, Noisy, Coach Party, Baby Queen, Bloxx, Kelis, The Kooks, Elvana, Enola Gay, The Hara, Kid Brunswick, Inhaler, Kasabian Probably end up missing half of the others but hey ho! Bring it all on!
  10. Yes enjoyed everything about yesterday! Bar and food queues short and plenty of space
  11. Interesting, the arena doesn't look any bigger and even before it felt pretty small, we'll see next week!
  12. We only ordered our car parking I think Wednesday but it's a print-at-home one now, wonder if they've stopped posting them just in case.
  13. Slight stage time changes for Community on Saturday, only change actually is Cole Bleu and Bears In Trees swapping times
  14. 2 nights is great, wasn't expecting that!
  15. Don't remember the Dodgems, that's about the only change I can see, drunk dodgems shall be fun
  16. Completely forgot that the The Nest was now the closest one to Zodiac, good for me! The Market Stage was there the year before that but can see why they moved it down, way more space down there and less chance of a mudbath by Zodiac if it rains.
  17. Never been to Community before but hoping it's a good one! I thought for sure Circa Waves would be on the main stage, headlining second seems odd to me! Will take the tip for Two Door in hand (left side of stage) as not sure I'll be fussed seeing Circa Waves for that long so thanks for posting that! Anyone who's been to Finsbury for a gig is the overground easy enough to get to? I've heard the underground can get a big queue but not heard much on the overground
  18. That's very true, it's why I find Truck so good, a minimal walk to the car and back!
  19. I'm not 100% sure they allow booze on re-entry nowadays (yes very annoying!), might be best to check with Truck first
  20. It's pretty decent; camp right next to the arena, never that crowded/loud, proper toilet and some showers (can be a 30 min wait in the morning but by 12 there's barely a queue)
  21. I love The Gaslight Anthem but I think the best they'd get is to headline a stage like Neck Deep this year A top 3 of A Day To Remember, Turnstile and The Gaslight Anthem would suit me though!
  22. Yeah it's portaloos usually with loo roll in! Getting more excited each day for this, got Zodiac on top of my ticket again this year, do love just popping in and out of the arena all day
  23. Some for consideration: MSE: Kendrick Lamar MSW: Jamie T MSE: Kasabian MSW: Yungblud MSE: My Chemical Romance MSW: Doja Cat ----- MSE: Billie Eilish MSW: Yungblud MSE: Kasabian MSW: Courteeners MSE: Green Day MSW: Doja Cat
  24. Green Day are probably one of the more likely older rock bands you'll still get at Reading. If they potentially stick to having 1 older rock headliner you could see a band like them or Foo Fighters (if they keep going) coming back. They're way more relevant to a current R&L crowd than RATM imo They were really brilliant in London the other day, always liked Green Day but excited expectations for sure, really was just banger after banger
  25. First time for a while that South has been before North!
