Featuring some of the best-loved acts in the Folk scene, on an ideal site Folk by the Oak is a one day folk festival for 5,000, now in its fifth year, set in the beautiful grounds of Hatfield House in Herts happening on Sunday 22nd July 2012. The event runs from 2pm until around 10pm.

Line-up

Show Of Hands will headline, also confirmed are Cara Dillon, Chris Wood, Breabach, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan, Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo, and The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, and festival patron Jim Moray complete the line-up.

Other entertainment

In addition to the musical programme of contemporary folk and acoustic artists the family friendly event offers a craft fair, workshops, children's activities, storytelling, circus skills, real ale bar, music stalls, recycled gifts and a selection of tasty produce and a real ale bar on site.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £34 per adult or £38 on the gate. A child aged 5-15 years ticket is priced at £16 (age 4 and under are free, and do not require a ticket). To buy tickets, click here.

Take a picnic

Festival goers are invited to bring a picnic, but for safety reasons no fires or barbecues are allowed. Refreshments and bar will be available. Seating and cover is not provided so chairs, tables, picnic blankets and umbrellas are all allowed. No dogs, other than guide dogs, can be admitted. This is a non-camping event.

Getting there

Hatfield train/tube station is just five minutes walk away, and there's ample free parking.
