It's elitism, of course, but 10 years time, you'll scroll through your music collection and wonder what the f**k you were thinking, just as I do now when I look at owning an album by embarrassing bands like Earthtone 9 or One Minute Silence. Forgotten bands who represent a period in your young life whenever you were ignorant, didn't know your identity and used listening to crap music as an excuse to cover up your own stupidity.

...maybe. ;)

Like everyone else has said, music taste is subjective and to claim that someone must be 'stupid' to like certain bands is ridiculous. Just because someone likes a band that you don't doesn't mean that they're narrow-minded with their music tastes and like one particular genre. I have a wide-ranging music taste, and perhaps your narrow-mindedness towards other peoples tastes are a reflection of your own stupidity.

To be fair, At The Drive-In were the best band I've ever seen live. No buts, no justification - they were just the best band I've ever seen live. Refused are a great band. Not really heard much of Glassjaw because I was too busy making generalisations and patronising their fans to notice much of what they've done.

One day I may come down from my ivory tower and mingle amongst the mortals.

What exactly is the typical Glassjaw fan?

Not just defending them because I am one, i always thought they were relatively respectable when it came to music taste. I always find that generally, most glassjaw fans top 5 bands include Deftones and At The Drive in, rather than Emery or Silverstein.

I don't think there's anything like a typical Glassjaw fan - by definition. You can be a fan of the f**king Bee Gees and still be a Glassjaw fan - that's the glory of music. Anybody can listen to it. I was just being sarcastic in saying that I was too busy making generalisations about their fans to listen to them.

Give me some recommendations and I'll check them out.
