I'm assuming you already have a ticket? V is a good first-time festival I think, it's pretty safe and there's plenty of security people wandering around which is reassuring if you're a bit worried about the whole thing. I went for the first time last year and thought most people were friendly and nice, there are lots of drunk chavs but I didn't come across any trouble at all. You'll have a great time. And camping was fine, stay away from the toilets and accept that you'll not be able to wash for a few days. And take as much of your own food as you can carry-- food at V is VERY expensive, and I was charged £2 for a tiny cup of hot water :P I was craving coffee by sunday morning so payed for the hot water which I was pretty annoyed about (I had coffee with me, stupidly assumed i'd be given hot water for free), so I'll be taking a camping stove this year.

ye i'd say thats top advice...done v, reading and glasto before and v's a safe place to start. it's quite compact as well so can't get lost like at glasto and lineup is littered with recognisable names which is alright, agree on the food front thou, take as much as you can because food and drink prices are ridicoulous there

  • 3 weeks later...

I am going to look at what will hopefully be my apartment, next week. This is the first apartment I'm actually going to physically go look at as well as the first time i'll be living on my own. Is there anything I should know before I go or anything I should be aware of regarding signing a lease, etc?
