Hi there

First time at Glastonbury this year , under slightly stressful circumstances.

I live in London but,for various reasons, I am cruelly tied up in Newquay Cornwall till the Friday morning.

The various transport options are doing my head in.

How would people recommend getting there?

The 4 hour journey on the train with two stops?

train to Bristol meads then shuttle?

train to plymouth then coach?

Also could I book a one-way coach ticket going back to London on the monday?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

try the lift share forum /index.php?showforum=24">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showforum=24

i think the train ride up to bristol is much nicer than the coach - fabulous views out the window.

newquay is not on a main line, but if you can get a lift / bus to truro or bodmin there's a train to bristol mead with no changes

10:19 Truro [TRU] Bristol Temple Meads [bRI] 13:56 3h 37m 0

national express must off 1 way tickets from the festival to london on monday, or again, you might find a lift share.

have a fab time in newquay - on the rocks, the red lion, belushi's and leadbelly are the pubs that have decent live music! don't go too near the cliff edges while drunk!!

We're travelling up from slightly higher up than you but we're getting the train from Plymouth to Castle Cary on the Wednesday and then just jumping on the shuttle bus. We've considered all the other options and this seems like the best for us, personally.

Not much help but this thread just made me nostalgic and I had to post.

My first Glastonbury in 1995, I was living in Newquay and my friends and i had a hitch hiking race in twos, we left Newquay at 8 and were inside the festival for half eleven :P.

The liftshare option is definitely worth checking out both on here and on their website and in true Glastonbury spirit you might end up making some new friends. Good luck :P
