  1. So it looks like I'll be back at Kendal this year. I enjoyed it more than Leeds festival last year and it's half the price too. The only thing I think they need to sort out are the toilet facilities, I distinctly remember feeling ill last year just because of the smell when they still hadn't been cleaned at 6 in the morning <_<

Anyway, what's the likelihood of someone like Bloc Party or Franz Ferdinand headlining one of the nights? They'll both be releasing albums later in the year (or so I hope) and aren't too big for the festival I don't think.

Also, is it worth getting Emperors field tickets? I noticed a lot of people staying there got away with getting drinks into the arena - I had a sealed bottle of water taken off of me going through the main arena gates :/

Is it a bit quieter than the main campsite too?

  2. Top 3

Muse - because they could've played purely hits and the decision to play OOS in full was a f**king good one

Pulp - Bloody brilliant. And This Is Hardcore was awesome

Madness - Been wanting to see them for ages. They got everyone dancing, even those who only knew the obvious ones. Plus a conga line ended up in a circle pit along with a bunch of crowd surfers who ended up there too which was eventful to say the least

    Worst 3

The Strokes - Seriously disappointed me. I don't like the new stuff anyway but they were incredibly boring

Two Door Cinema Club - their songs are all a bit samey plus I could barely hear them where I was stood

Taking Back Sunday - I used to listen to them a few years ago but they were really boring

(Before seeing them, I probably would've put MCR here but despite me not being a massive fan, they were surprisingly good.)

  3. Probably not, unless someone else paid for me. Can't say I enjoyed a lot of it aside from the music, some of this was down to the weather but mostly the number of complete pricks I had the misfortune of bumping into. I'm only twenty but wasted kids shouting abuse and singing one Strokes song all the way through The National's set, completely ruined it for me unfortunately <_<

  4. Has anyone used this before? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9278840/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CSports+and+leisure%7C14419152/c_2/2%7C14419152%7CCamping%7C14419397/c_3/3%7Ccat_14419397%7COther+camping+accessories%7C14419416.htm

I need one that folds up cos I'm getting the train and something with decent wheels seeing as the weather isn't looking great for next week. The wheels on this one don't look great to be honest but anything cheap will do :)

  5. Best Performance? Muse/The National

    Worst Performance? Beady Eye

Song most looking forward to? Mr November - The National, Disco 2000 - Pulp, Citizen Erased - Muse

Best band on lineup? The National

    Likely choice of food: Toasties/Noodles

Band that isn't playing and you wish was: Radiohead

Any new bands you will be checking out? Dry The River, Grouplove, The Antlers, Rae Morris, Warpaint

  6. Does anyone know how long a walk it is roughly from the bus drop off at Leeds near yellow camp, to green camp? Also, on the map there's another drop off point by green/brown but is the one at red gate the only drop off point being used this year?

  7. Great weekend, glad I picked this one for my first festival. It's so chilled out yet I'm still so tired and don't think I can handle Leeds fest in three weeks!

Highlights for me were Vintage Trouble on Sat night/Sun morning in the riot jazz tent. They were just as good on the mainstage but the atmosphere in riot jazz was amazing.

Other highlights included The Cribs, The Whip, Frank Turner (could've headlined in my opinion), Blondie (suprisingly she's still got it. I was at the front and it was.brilliant apart from the two drunk women who punched me in the back of the head).

Nathaniel Rateliff sounded beautiful in the library tent,as did Lucy Rose. Craig Charles on Sunday night topped the whole thing off wonderfully. Unfortunately I had to leave.early because everytime I closed my eyes, even to blink, I could feel myself falling asleep.

The people of pootopia deserve an award for being lovely people and working ridiculous 22hr shifts at times and they saved me from being sick due to the state of the portaloos haha

One thing that could be sorted is more security on the main campsite entrance. There were people in the campsite asking for spare tickets to get a wristband and some were just jumping the fence near the toilets by the arena entrance.

All in all, a wonderful weekend :)

  8. What are the food/drink prices like at Kendal? I assume the regular festival prices. I'm just wondering how much money to save for spends over the weekend? Also, are there any shops or supermarkets nearby like Leeds where you can go off site and come back again?

  9. Screw the moaners...its gonna be awesome!!! Just been listening to Dinosaur Pile Up and the Virgin Marys....both sound fantastic. People need to be realistic about what £120 split over 3 days and god knows how many stages is gonna get them...I'm well happy...

Check these out...this is gonna be a GREAT set!
