The only ones I haven't listened to are Crosby, Stills & Nash so all in all it should be an amazing day
I have to say i'm disappointed in efestivals though for getting my hopes up about The National
-
I hope that's right!!!! That would be incredible!!!!!! Soon find out anyway...
-
Someone's just wrote on the facebook group that they're sure they heard an announcement on absolute radio for Elvis Costello, Crowded House and Crosby, Stills and Nash
I hope they were wrong about the latter
-
Doesn't Reading have an announcement sometime today - could be why we had to wait
-
So a list of people that have been mentioned on here as possible support;
The National
Keane
Blondie
Scissor Sisters
Noel Gallagher
Gorillaz
Elvis Costello
The Coral
Them Crooked Vultures
Kasabian
Madness
James
anymore to add?

I told my friend about the announcement for tuesday, told her not to get her hopes up though
-
Just hope this volcano doesn't cause problems and stops bands from getting to the UK.
-
A few people have recieved their tickets now, hopefully mine have been dispatched too
Gonna have to keep them in a safe place, knowing me I would've lost them by June
6 weeks today!!!

I really really hope The National confirm, they are simply amazing, the new album is perfect in every way.

Last year was great; although it was apparently very rainy on the Friday, but I never went to that.
On the Saturday, it was threatening to rain the whole day - including the coolest lightning bolts I have ever seen in my life all around the park. It truly was an electric atmosphere heading into Neil. By the time he finished, it was a beautiful summers evening, and Greensleeves coming out over the speakers just made the night feel special...
On the Sunday, it was a really warm day, and Bruce on a summer's night was just perfection. I still get chills thinking about the crowd singing the refrain from "Badlands" for quite a long time after he had left the stage...
This year has the potential to be epic in every respect:
- Rawk n' Roll on the Friday - with some potential collaborations, I bet!
- Summer's eve party with Stevie on the Saturday, Hyde Park shakin' all night long!
- Closing off with some of the world's most famous songs from undoubtedly one of the biggest legends of music of all time. This one will be emotional for many, I bet.
What songs is everyone looking forward to hearing on the nights they are going? For me:
- Friday - literally anything. No point in crossing my fingers, it's my first PJ show, so anything at all is new and amazing to me.
- Saturday - As, Living for the City... I could go on, but I'd list almost everything.
- Sunday - Blackbird, All My Loving, I'm Looking Through You, The End... I'm also really hoping he ends with Please, Please Me!

so true. I've never been to HRC but I've seen Blur at Hyde Park and also went to the Mandela concert and Hyde Park is one of the best places for concerts. Hopefully HRC will also be the same!

I found this http://2009.hardrockcalling.co.uk/attracti...tions.aspx.html
some food and rink prices from last year. not too bad I suppose although, seeing as a mineral water is £2, i'm guessing it'll be about £4 a for a pint.....actually, just checked again. £3.50. I suppose it'll have increased this year though. Its about that much for a bottle of gaymers in the pub I work in anyway

Yeah that appeals to me, I like having the feel of a festival whilst knowing you're in a city! I'm recruiting friends to go. It sounds like the crowd is an interesting mix. If I could find some people to have an Irish jig with, I would be impressed haha. As for the herbal side of it, I'm not into that but it was interesting at Summer Sundae in Leicester last year you didn't even get searched. That's trusting right there! Maybe at the end of the day when people were strewn over the grass passed out they thought "Hmm...maybe we should have been a little more strict!"
-
Just checked on the HRC Facebook page and they said most of the tickets have been sent out, has anyone had their tickets yet?
-
Macca is on radio 1 at about 11 this morning
-
It also has great facilities too and you don't get the 2 hours in the car park experience as you just walk out to your hotel or race to the tube (I'd check they're running as if you stay for encores you may miss the last one).
-
Muse are incredible live, especially if they bring out the Sky dish set with the lasers (all I'm saying is I was impressed and I've seen a fair few gigs/festivals in my time).
If you want to see what they're like live I have some vids from V '08 so PM me.
-
Hmm... To wait or not to wait to buy a ticket. Having recently had festival plans crushed by indecisiveness, I'll decide very soon! Thanks! (By the way, Muse September 4th?! Hell yeah! I'm there too )
-
Cheers! Is there word on when the line up will be completed? I'm a little torn about which day to go depending on who they might add... Basic question but what's the atmosphere/crowd like there?
-
Newbie question I'm afraid, but I've only just started looking at Hard Rock Calling! I have obviously been living under a rock after seeing the great line-ups! Are there no full weekend tickets available to purchase because I've left it ridiculously late to be interested in going? Thanks
-
to be honest, i'd rather have none of them play but i'm there to see Macca anyway
-
Scissor Sisters have just announce a tour and they have the whole weekend free. I think they're playing Glasto one day but they also have a song named after Paul McCartney himself so could they be a very big maybe?
-
It may not be the announcement you're all waiting for, but the Bandstand will be returning for 2010 on the Saturday and Sunday, hosted by the lovely Bella Union record label. The line up will be announced at midday tomorrow.
at least we're hearing some news
-
Florence would be a very welcome addition to the lineup. Went to see her on Friday and she was amazing! So much better than I had expected. I hope The National are confirmed too, that would make for the best birthday ever
