Seeing as romeo has been there four years out of the past five I wouldn't bet against it......
Monday afternoon trivia question:-
Why did Romeo attend his first Summer Sundae the year before The Magic Numbers broke?

OBS acts won't be announced until start of July as that's when the final's taking place...
First heat is on May 1st and then six more heats, two semi finals and a final...
Some really interesting line ups being scheduled for the heats this year (including My Kid Brother who appeared on National TV with John Barrowman and McFly at the weekend)!!!!

I know one of the acts listed... I'll ask tonight if they were aware. I suspect that they weren't.

One simply can't do without this on the slopes darling.... or whatever it is could certainly point towards Snow Patrol but surely there a bit too big.... and not my cup of tea either...

the tipi 'field' has become rather exclusive too
dunno what to think really. These people must have paid something for the 'special facilities' and if it means helping the festival with some of it's costs, then I s'pose it's ok. It's stupidly expensive for what you get though, those prices are per person, so for ten people in the Montana, it'll be £8,450!!!!.. in a tent... without any extras (that's your ticket not included either)!!!..
there's a couple of other options like this too now, isn't there?
In an ideal world, it wouldn't be happenin'....

And do The Streets not tick a few dance boxes???
-
Yeah - and was it last year or the year before last that Cat Stevens (Yusuf) was a TBC???

Notice that the Animal Collective have now been added to the Green Man bill one week later.....
Oh - If only they were down to play Summer Sundae as well.... I'd be a happy man...

Both of the new records by Grizzly Bear and Andrew Bird are most enjoyable - been listening to them a great deal this year...
They'd be lovely additions...

I've been to all of them...
Remember being sent a mailshot to the first one and deciding to go because I was a very big lambchop fan at the time.... glad I did...

Funny you mention this Phil...
My Australian second cousin was over a few weeks ago bending Richard's ear about the strength of the 'New Zealand Dub' scene... i didn't pay much attention until we were out driving in my car and she played me a couple of tracks by Fat Freddy's drop... I can see that they'd be ideal as well.

Played the excellent Summer Sundae festival last year on the Rising Stage.... decent sized crowd bouncing and euphoric by the end... certainly would try and see them again at Glastonbury if they were there...

We don't tell you that bit - makes it more interesting
(not really....)

Says they're playing the Saturday before the Charlatans, so it's a very real, and very fantastic, possibility.
Really interesting announcement, I agree. Most looking forward to Micachu & The Shapes, whose album is genuinely like nothing else around at the moment, a complete mess of electronic pop. 65daysofstatic make an immense sound live, and the Noisettes are a far more hyper live band than they've managed on record.

Or perhaps more realistically, Dan Black??? That wouldn't be surprising....
If it was a really obvious clue, then it'd be Colin Vearncombe AKA Black..

havent heard of any of those bands
pretty dissapointed with that lack of big names to back up the zutons, bon iver, and the streets
-
That's a really good announcement...
Particularly happy about the Noisettes.... Jamie, the drummer, has been to the festival two years out of the last three (drumming with Fionn Regan and Dawn Landes) and he's said to me both times how he's love for his 'proper' band to play the festival....
Qemists have been getting a lot of decent press and I loved their track on a word CD a few months ago..
James Yuill's album of last year really got me hooked after a few listens...
Not an act in that list that I wouldn't want to see - problem is I know I won't be able to see all of them...

New clue!
"Oh and second clue for the day...but as Michael Jackson sang, it don't matter if you're _______ or white..."
-
Orbital had a song called Planet of the Shapes.... can't imagine it's them though that would be truly awesome!!!!!
-
On the one of our bands is also a bit nuts front.....
Could it be Goldie Lookin' Chain???? Note that they're playing a couple of other festivals (Camp Bestival for one) this summer and it sounds like the sort of way they'd describe themselves (and then there was that tune about your missus being a nutter!!!)
Are we definite that the Heavenly reference is about the label? It could just be a reference to the fantastic band 'Stars'... If it's them, then I'd be very very happy..
Could the bit scientific reference be for The Chemistry Set...

I would love to see Polly Scattergood at this years Summer Sundae... She is my favourite musical 'discovery' in the past couple of months....

they did play, (off the top of my head) 2006?
-
I went to the Nottingham gig a couple of weeks ago...
Missed Florence but heard good things.... White Lies absolutely stole the show... they're not really my thing but their sound was much much better than the other acts on that night... Friendly Fires and Glasvegas both enjoyable but not firing on all cylinders I'd say..

Larmer Tree 09
in other UK festivals
Posted · Edited by seantizz
For four or five years, Larmer Tree was a brilliant festival for me and my young son, Olly, to head off to.. We both had some wonderful times there; everyone was so friendly and Olly still talks about the day that he held a young girls hand, only to realise that he'll never see her again!!
But things have had to change. Olly's now 12. I can't afford tickets for the both of us, especially when there are festivals out there who have entrance for under 13's free.
It'll always hold a great place in our hearts and I'm not saying that we'll never go back again but that rush to get Larmer Tree tickets seems to have passed for me (and many others as they've not sold out yet!!)
