Wahey... Just seen that amongst others, The Miserable Rich have been added to the Big Session line up.
I've not seen them live as yet but love their stuff.... their song 'Pisshead' is well worth a listen...

If everyone else is doing one... I did a sizeable list last year, but here's some current and actually thought out suggestions:
Potential headliners: Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Jarvis, Doves, Maximo Park, British Sea Power, The Hold Steady (they owe SSW one), Eels, Futureheads (as a sop after all that Athena/Uni gig that was never going to happen stuff last year)
High up the bil: Grizzly Bear, The Decemberists, Stereolab, Mew, Bat For Lashes, Jens Lekman, Clinic, Los Campesinos!, M Ward, Andrew Bird, Edwyn Collins
Also: The Wave Pictures (originally from Wymeswold), Mumford and Sons, Slow Club, Broken Records, Grammatics, Sky Larkin, The Week That Was, Hello Saferide, The Phantom Band, Dananananaykroyd (might not seem like the average SSW band but the equally active The Mae Shi went down very well last year), Lucky Soul, Silvery, Blue Roses, Thomas Truax, Superman Revenge Squad

Take a look at BBC's I Player for this mornings 5 live breakfast show....
At about 2 hours 53 minutes our esteemed festival director and main stage MC Richard Haswell was being interviewed about 2009 prospects.... In a few minutes of interview he said that:
(1) Harvey Goldsmith is a tosser (sort of)
(2) Festival goers are lovely (especially those of us loyal to the Summer Sundae) and that
(3) Bruce Springsteen might be headlining at Summer Sundae 2009....
Rock n roll and happy new year to one and all!!!!

I think what they actually meant was:-
'the band about to find the North West on the map.'
There is a considerable difference...
-
Huge? Why? Are they eating too many pies??
To be honest, a band with a song entitled 'Muff Attack' are probably not the sort of band that the organisers will be looking to get 'on the bill'....
But keep going... And prove me wrong....

A truly truly brilliant festival experience - perhaps my favourite of the whole summer....
I entered a competition in the Metro and won tickets at late notice - wondered what I was letting myself in for...
Got there and was pleased to discover that there were friends from other festivals there - and everybody was so friendly anyway that I wouldn't have been by myself for long...
Personal highlights for me included the late night/early morning hot-tub, binocular football (KerPlunk is making a play for the 2012 Olympic team), the Childrens birthday party, the Geisha purification experience on the last night and the most relaxing and wonderful back massage whilst sat in the garden of the Wonky Cock Boozer!! The carnival was brilliant fun as well... Can't remember much about the music though I recall that the Beat were quite good, Nizlopi were fun as always and I quite enjoyed Flipron and Smerins....
Thanks to all of the great, generous people who were there who made this weekend so so good.... I'll be back...
