Pangea.... is still a big crane in a field.

2 weeks to go guys - sure you got this!

Yep no pressure! I’m sure it will be amazing but looks like it is going to be not much more than the crane with the radome.

From looking at the map, could it be that a cordon will be placed around the perimeter so that the radome can swing around but not be directly over the people below. Having said that, wouldn’t that put people too far back and so loose something of the connection with the act. Whatever happens it’s great that the festival is kept fresh with changes like this.

Anyone stayed at WV before know what the queues are like for the showers, shuttle buses from coach drop off etc are like?

Queues for showers vary. I go first thing at 7-730 and it varies from no queue to 15-20 mins. 0800-1200 I reckon it pushes 40-60 mins (this is men’s by the way, females always longer). In afternoon queue is minimal.  Last year I was surprised by queues for toilets, again I’d recommend a visit first thing if you can or hold it in until your on site (long drops by WV festival entrance/exit always quiet!).

Dont do bus but when leaving queue doesn’t look too bad but by no means no queue - I reckon at worst about an hour but I could be wrong.

Ah, ok. Thanks. Bit out of my depth with this WV stuff. Feel it’s the final step of my Glastonbury lifecycle. From fence-jumping through to camping and finally on to pre-rected tents.

Yep that me too. You won’t look back.

Just got my eticket. Just need to forward it o the other people staying in my tent. Presumably i don’t need to send names to WV then, or is that another level of security?

I’m sure names request will follow. I entered mine at time of booking but in other years they’ve always emailed to prompt you to provide/update as needed.

It’s a PDF e-ticket. No mention of our group name (we’re 3 tents on 2 order) or tent number. Maybe the send that out closer to the time this year. If at all ?

I can’t remember what they did in 2017. They usually send a welcome type /useful info email around this time too. Car park tickets are always sent very late for WV tho.

  6. So Stormzy I get but still find difficult to go with Cure for Sat, even more so if it is Stormzy on the Friday. I’m sure I’ll be proved wrong but reckon there will be a round of somewhat negative press/social media when the headliners released if true - not that it matters of course.

  7. Spice Girls pyramid, Cure on Other (sorry despite the wisdom of these boards just don’t see them headlining pyramid - I’m probably wrong though). Equally don’t really see Spice Girls at Glastonbury  - I dunno !!!! ?

This years Glasto was my 10th, the first being in 1995 and on Sunday night I have never seen a crush like it - at any festival. The junction up top of Pyramid towards JP has to be widened. The crush there on Sunday before Ed was close to becoming a serious incident and I pray this will be noted by the festival team. My wife was close to passing out in the mix and there were young kids gasping for air, it was dangerous and genuinely scary. I'd like to think I'm a pretty savvy festival goer and can see these situations developing but Sunday night developed very quickly, traffic was moving and then it just didn't. There was literally no where to go and little security in sight. People were panicking, I was panicking. There was pushing, screaming, even adults crying. I've never experienced anything like it and I've been to pretty much all the UK festivals. It really put a dampener on what was a superb weekend at my favourite place in the world.

This has always been a pinch point & been caught in some scary crushes there in past,  agree something should be done to reduce risk of it happening but nothing seems to have been done to date. Now avoid that entrance around headliners.   Quite often seems to be because people entering pyramid field choose to stop pretty much as soon as they get in as opposed to walk down into the field thus creating a blockage.

  9. Yes I'm a glass half empty kinda guy but there's still too much rain around the SW for my liking in latest run. Yes it could be very light but worst case isn't it showing potential for rain from around 0900-1500 Wednesday and then again all evening; Saturday rain potentially all day until 9PM and then Sunday from lunchtime onwards with potential for serious downpour in evening.

Don't get me wrong this looks vastly superior to forecasts prior to previous fests but the consistent themes the last couple of days is for more and more rain to be in the SW over next weekend.

I've packed a worse case scenario bag that I can leave in the car until the end of the festival. :D

Great idea, I'll leave the aqua lung & flippers in the car. Seriously it is looking promising but I'm still a bit worried about all the rain around SW it only needs to move a bit for it to be quite wet.
