    Ticket queing

Aah starting to get clearer on the numbers. But if you take out the multiple groups trying to get tickets for one single registration what are the percentages? Say 2.5 million registrations and 135,000 actual paying tickets available with 6 people in a group? What are the chances then?

I think the system is flawed but the best of a bad lot as it does seem to encourage extra effort on behalf of those who are actually successful and therefore I guess ensures a festival full of people who care about being there and are excited by the prospect of it. With regard to numbers if there are 2.3-2.5 million registrations and assuming that ALL of them try to get tickets (which is obviously not the case but..) then with 210,000 tickets (approx?) you have a 1 in 10ish chance of getting a ticket? If you are in a group of 6 then that increase 6 fold? Does that therefore mean that in a group of 6 you have a circa 60% chance of being successful? Pretty good odds if so.
  3. Don't be weirded out. My opinion is that its run its course because the original post was about Paul Currie being not asked back to Glastonbury because of the political views he has. I am not definitely sure if he has or not but it looks as though its nothing to do with that. Getting into a wider discussion about the political situation he holds an opinion on in this thread is (in my opinion) as useful as asking about what Fresh & Black Decathlon Tent to buy.
  4. As I and others have said before this thread is about Paul Currie not getting a slot at Glastonbury. There is no evidence to suggest it is because of any political views he has so I guess this thread has run its course. If anyone wants to start a thread about politics I am sure there is a place for that somewhere else.
  5. I think its probably this. If Glastonbury is welcoming IDLES and Bob Vylan who usually wave Palestinian Flags and lead there crowd in "Free Palestine" chants then I don't think Paul Currie's mime Ukraine/Palestine flag act is going to worry them.
  6. Lets keep this on topic....this issue/thread is about Paul Currie not been asked to return to Glastonbury. There doesn't seem to be any evidence from the festival that this has anything to do with his political views unless I am mistaken?
  7. The issue with the festival for this comedian is obviously not his Pro-Palestinian views. Otherwise why would so many acts who have the same publicly voiced views still be on the bill. I don't think we will find out why he has been canned unless the festival releases a statement but reading those quotes from the Soho Theatre I don't think he sounds particularly good at his job..... "That's when he told them that if they didn't like they can get the f**k out of his show. And for anyone who didn't like it to also get out." Surely any comedian worth his salt should be able to engage with the audience in a more positive way than that?

  11. I think there are a lot of posters on here who love Pulp (including me) but haven't quite come to terms with how indifferent non fans are to them most of who view them as one hit wonders. Quick sales check on wikipedia says that Pulp lag behind even Stereophonics in sales and (like streaming numbers) again a blunt metric but there is no way Stereophonics can headline the Pyramid Stage.
  12. Yeah of course but I wasn't saying they would play....I was just trying to give an idea of the level of artist that would/could headline the Pyramid. Unfortunately Pulp are nowhere near that level.
  13. Yeah I don't even like her music but still get an occasional ear worm of "One Kiss" every few weeks ha ha ha
  14. Absolutely NOT as a headliner on the Pyramid Stage. But could see them headlining a smaller stage. Pyramid stage headliners in the future will be drawn from the likes of Taylor Swift, ACDC, Drake, The Weeknd, Oasis, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Eminem, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, RHCP, Green Day etc etc Pulp do not have the same appeal for not only ticket holder but also the tv viewers And I say this as a fan
