Hi, Just found out that Melvins are playing on 29/6 at Chalk in Brighton and that's the day I arrive to London. my flight should land at 14:00 at Heathrow and I wonder if it will be possible to make it. it's written that event time is 18:30-22:00, does it mean there will be support act? anyone knows when usually main act starts there? if someone wants to add how is this place for concerts that's will also be great . tnx
Don't know where you're coming from or if flights are already booked, but if you can fly to Gatwick it's an easy 30 mins-ish train to Brighton.

Booked tickets in hopeful anticipation of a great line up, looking at Tramlines, Truck and Y Not... and then found out we can't park on site anymore - I want to cry. We are supposed to going to/from Waterlooville each day and back and after last year's car troubles I'm not sure if we can be bothered. If anyone can help with the parking situation, that would be great. If not, we will have to write a good £350 + off
Would the park & ride be any good for you? I think they normally run it from lakeside for the fest.

Victorious - Jamiraqoui, ? , ?
Tramlines - Richard Ashcroft, Courteeners, Heaton & Abbott
Truck - TDCC, Alt J, Royal Blood
Y Not - Royal Blood, Kasabian, Paul Weller
Victorious shared Sam Fender with Tramlines +
truck last yeah and Stereophonics with Y Not.So….. what we thinking
Hoping for Alt J out of those. Looking a bit weak for me, but I'm normally more interested in the undercard.

How!? How can a human have 'THAT' kind of strength? Look at them, look at them! they're funky and crazy and weird on top.
I know! But they don't say they're waterproof. I'll be wearing trainers when (not if) the weather's good at Glasto, only need funky boots if it's grim.

Oooooh love the idea of an outfits thread!! I've just been snapping loads of sale bargains throughout Jan so I'm pretty much finished my summer/festival outfit shopping. Unfortunately a lot of fast fashion because I just can't afford sustainable stuff at the moment. Although I have invested in a couple of pairs of trainers/walking boots combo in the sale which are a bit better quality and should hopefully last me a few years now.
Last year I bought the cheapest pair of boots for £13 from Shein, they were actually pretty comfy and did the job while I was there. Had to chuck them away afterwards though, just not sturdy enough!
Just seen a pair of kids Stella McCartney multi coloured hiking boots which look AMAZING!!! Proper stylish, reduced from £200 to £60. Think I have to get them for my daughter 😬😬 What do you think? They'll last her a couple of years if I half size it and then the brand means I could sell them on when she outgrows them? They are just SOOOO cool!!! Don't know how I'm going to resist....shall I do it?
They've got those boots in my size! Must... resist...

Bought a new Fitbit that should be arriving today (old 1 stopped working a few years ago).
Pros: will now have accurate step count.
Cons: can no longer blame my appalling lack of exercise on my phone's "inaccurate" tracker.

You should get double points for walking on a beach... Double the effort.
We're very lucky to live near wide open country spaces, I know that, but it doesn't stop me wishing we had a beach to walk along too... Something theraputic about the waves. Great pic btw.I stayed on the pavement rather than tackling the pebbles! Will have to hit the actual beach for some off-road training pre glasto.
There aren't many aesthetically pleasing parts of Portsmouth, but it is nice being a short stroll from the seafront.

Be interesting where these are because he already has dates at festivals to sell. I think he'll avoid anything south close to Portsmouth.
Tbf, most artists seem to avoid anything close to Portsmouth

I'll probably car down or check split train options. The alternative was £20 a night for a single room just behind Fratton train station, not worth it. I'm guessing the entrance is now the escapade end a little up from the pier and rides
You can enter from the Clarence pier end, the pyramids end or the bottom of Palmerston road (I assume all entrances will be open on Friday as the full site is open this year)

I really need to stop getting my hopes up for some info when I see this thread tagged as *Hot*
Sometimes "hot" just means the thread has turned into a bin fire

You can't blame someone for pulling out on covid reasons. I know it might have been late but it's a fairly good reason. And he pulled two, not just singled out Victorious.
Yeah, but wasn't the reason that festival goers needed a covid pass (can't remember now if that was the event's rule or gov rule so they had no choice about it)?
Being an anti-vaxer might make it a valid reason for him, but doesn't mean the fest should leap at the chance to get him back imho.

Ok:
AM - 20%. Seen them before, so not too bothered. Expect there to be something I'd prefer on another stage.
GnR - 5%. Not really for me, but might hang around for a song or 2 if I'm passing through.
Elton - 90%. Not someone I'd go to see at their own gig, but would defs be up for it at Glasto.

Think I've needed to try the resale 3 times: successful for 2016, failed for 2017 and successful (as part of the resale group here) for 2022.

Considering this summer was incredibly hot, this is mad. I felt like the Wednesday with getting 2 hours sleep, waiting 3/4 hours line, setting up my tent in the heat really impacted the rest of the week.
Luckily this year I by coach so hopefully some pain reduced.
Im always Heatwave > Rain everyday of the week but can see how its taxing on other people
From that article:
"The warmest year since records began in 1850 was in 2016"
Uh oh.

AM headlining Other? Assuming my HS intent on world domination hunch is correct he wouldn't bother with back to back nights <edit> without a headline slot </edit> otherwise...
Reaslising that's equally unlikely as AM won't be lower than headlining...
Maybe Harry would be willing to take a lower slot if he's subbing Elton?

I know stuff gets spoken about. I just find it hard that a randomer at the BBC would know this early in advance. I also just can't see Styles there given his other gigs and the solid AM info we've had. We'll see.
I didn't think the beeb would know stuff this early, but someone in the webcam department must've known about the Elton announcement.

Ah, I saw Katy B at victorious back when it was at the dockyard!
Looking forward to her, Sigrid, Beabadoobee and Divine Comedy off that list.

Haha, yeah I'm not going to get too excited before anything's announced.

So now a few places have started announcing and we know our first headliner I thought I’d have another guess. I think are 3 headliners are:
Jamiraqoui, Kasabian, Noel Gallaghers HFB
I also think the following will be there:
Years and Years, Paul Heaton & Jackie Abbott, KT Tunstall, Confidence Man, The Coral, Bloc Party, Little Simz, Gabrielle and The Kaiser Chiefs
That undercard is looking good for me. Particularly Confidence Man, Bloc Party and Little Simz (plus the obligatory Southsea Alternative Choir set, they play so many times it's hard to miss them!)

I love the idea that Emily is telling people spurious things like razorlight on WH so she can work out who's leaking info 😂
