Thanks for all the responses everyone!  That's all good to know... was wondering whether people go to the lengths of stashing best clothes etc there too in case those got nicked from the tent!

Haven't done that for good clothes, but if you don't want to go back to camp (eg if you're in worthy view or campervan so it's a bit of a trek) you can leave some warm clothes in a convenient lockup and grab them for the evening.

Set your lockscreen background to a screenshot of a written text stating the numbers of two friends at the festival who they can contact in the event of a lost phone.

This is a great idea. I also put a contact number on a piece of paper inside the phone case as the lock screen trick won't work if your battery dies.

From the 2019 hi res pic, looks like it was that size then, too. So likely no actual change.
I think the 2022 map must have shown it smaller, but it was probably the same size 2019,22,& now 23.

I don't think the whole thing was cyclists' camping last time. I was camped approx at red dot last year & I'm pretty sure only the yellow box was cyclists, think the bit to the left was general camping.

90s Britpop, noughties indie in the mould of  libertines/yeah yeah yeahs, some Bowie, T-Rex, bit of mod or classic Beatles/Stones, punk/post punk stuff.  Pretty much any guitar based music from the 60s onwards 😇

The music wins over the quality of pint/venue for me please 😁

Ok, some of these I haven't been to for years but my initial thoughts are honest politician, the deco and one eyed dog on Elm Grove, and fat fox and lord John Russell (but LJR is def under new owners since I last went) on Albert Road. Most of the nightclubs are on Guildhall Walk, it's possible 1 of them has an indie/guitar night.

Yeah assumed that even though that part was a gonna this year they would have an equivalent new stage elsewhere 🤷‍♂️

Saturday is ridiculously good for us this year, but Friday/Sunday a bit light.  We’re down on the Thursday for the 1st time this year staying at student digs! Any recommendations for where to go on the Thursday night for a vic warm up?

Albert road is normally a good bet, but is there anything in particular you're after (hipster craft beer, old man pubs, cheesey nightclubs etc)?

Definitely.  We came to this festival initially based on the indie/90s heavy line up and been hooked ever since.  But it’s a fair old trek and we abandon the sprogs for 4 nights 🤣

This will be our last year of booking anything prior to a major lineup announcement anyway, time to try somewhere new.

Anyone know when they usually release the stage split? The acoustic and seaside (I think) usually have a bit of something I like too.

Honestly was convinced the cribs would be announced this time round!

Not sure when the stage splits are, but seaside stage won't be there this year (or next I think). That area's closed off for a few years while work is being done on the sea defences.

Also, if you tend to click on the most recent page in a thread like I do and don't even read the header most of the time....

You can find the link to our spreadsheet in the original post. So anyone can help 😊

Top tip: rather than clicking on most recent page, click on the circle or star next to the thread & it'll take you to the 1st unread post

Absolutely certain someone...likely my missus will need to immediately go find the toilets for a wee, unbelievably transparent avoidance of setup duties btw.

    Are you my husband? 🤣

I'll inevitably need to go once we've found a spot for the tent, it's not my fault if he sets it up while I'm otherwise engaged.

Then grab the programmes, go for a wander, find some food/drink and somewhere to chill.

    WHAT IS THE TICKET RESALE?

Following the ticket balance payment window, we will be selling a very limited of number tickets for which the balance was not settled. These will consist of General Admission tickets and Ticket + Coach travel options.

Does this mean there will be another mini resale after the 24hr balance window closes or am I interpreting it wrong? Could be interesting...

I think this means following the 1-7 April window there will be the normal resale.

They might bring back secret resales for tickets that aren't paid for after 24 hours (or are cancelled by 5 May), but I don't think that's what this is referencing.

Is the Portsmouth coach one of the combined ticket and coach locations? I thought Southampton was the nearest for that.

No, it's a separate national express coach. Southampton is the closest place with the combined ticket/coach option, but I got a standard ticket this year.

The seeticket coach is a bargain though. £54 return from Southampton if you get the ticket/coach option compared to £90 for national express!

just take them to the bins on the way out the field .... if you've got a bin bag in your pocket you can use it over and over during the festival ... pretty simple concept really 🙂

Yep, if you can carry a plate of food and a can of beer into a field, you can carry the empties back to a bin.

  11. I'm on the national express this year, and there is only 1 direct from Portsmouth so I don't get to pick when I leave/arrive. Not due to arrive until 14:30, so should miss the worst of the queues, and planning to camp in darble again.

Should be slightly easier than last year, when train strikes meant I had to leave straight after work on the Tues, get nat ex to London then another to Bristol so I could get my seeticket coach on the weds morning.

Military Road!! That is the most beautiful place in the entire world IMO. Did you walk all the way from Blackgang?

EDIT: Wait? Is that Niton! Christ.

Got the train from Ryde to Lake on the Saturday morning, and walked from there to Niton. Sunday walked to Totland. Monday we bussed/hovered home.

It was beautiful, but my poor old Pompey legs aren't used to hills!

Who here stays on site on the Monday morning, and leaves later in the day?

I'm starting to think that might be best, rather than trying to catch the first train out of Castle Cary on minimal/no sleep. I escape the crowds doing that, but I could also escape them after most of them have left. Would just be a bit insecure about the safety of my tent leaving it standing until Monday afternoon.

IMHO the worst thing about leaving later is seeing the state other people have left the place in. Going back to the real world is depressing enough anyway, but that puts an extra downer on it.

I think if your tent doesn't look too abandoned you should be alright. Could always try leaving a sign on it to say you're coming back (and don't leave any valuables in there once you've got them out the lockups). We'll sometimes leave someone packing up while the other goes off to find lunch, but that obviously only works if there's more than 1 of you leaving late.

Was stood on the platform in the wood last year on the Wednesday. Saw someone go into the long drops, chop out a line and do it off the seat. Felt sick for about 2 hours.

    1st thought: 🤢

2nd thought: you can see people in the long drops? 😳

Ah yeh - Ocean Colour Scene would be amazing. I've just had a listen and remember who they are now!

(Confession which will make you laugh, I get the name of the band mixed up with the Lighthouse Family 🤣🤣 it's because of that song Ocean Drive... pmsl)

Many years ago my older sister asked for the ocean colour scene album for her birthday. Our mum very nearly bought her ocean drive, but our little sister was like "errr, I don't think that's right".

Hang on, you're not bike like my mum, are you? 😂
