The campaign to get Foregone Conclusion to open the Pyramid starts here

Would genuinely be one of the highlights of my life. Live fast Die old.

JP’s bigger than the Park surely?

Is it? Maybe JP just feels smaller to me as in a tent. Nearly melting whilst watching Gerry Cinnamon last year has probably had an effect on me too.

  3. I think idles will need more space than JP tent. The streets last year was so crammed, if that turned into a mosh pit it could get scary! I would much prefer them on the other stage or even in the park again as that was perfect last time.

Could see them headlining the John Peel or maybe subbing the Other next time out

Do we think idles will be playing next year? They weren't on the line up for 2020, but hopefully with the new album out they must be more likely to have a good slot next year. 👌🤞🤞

Whoever mentioned the Dream Wife album the other week - thank you! Really been enjoying that the last few days.

Also saw The Streets trending on Twitter so figured the album was a banger, then read the tweets... 😳 Anyone listened to it yet?

I've listened to it today, the track with idles is alright but otherwise quite samey and forgettable sadly I thought.

it depends which thread you read!

    Bleak this...

"Discouraging or avoiding gatherings such as performances or screenings that may encourage audience behaviours that increase transmission risk, for example crowding, clustering or physical contact outside of household groups or support bubbles."

Yes, but by spring next year this guidance will be long gone and forgotten hopefully. If everything goes smoothly ending lockdown I think we are well on track to be back in the fields next year.

Glastonbury 2021 is looking almost certain now surely!  This is excellent news, and much earlier than I expected anything like this to be back on.

Ok, I give up, what are 'emits'? :D

Its a derogatory term for tourists used by Cornish people sometimes. I usually hate this type of behaviour, as Cornwall is a beautiful place and should be open to everybody and christ knows our tourism industry needs to get back up and running. But a lot of people are genuinely scared here and people should probably stay away for the time being.

Actually, it pains me to be admit it, given how much of prick the guy who runs it is, but Wetherspoons are about as good as a massive chain of pubs could be.

Decent selection of ales, food prices and no shit loud music all night long.

    Food is crap though.

  10. I live in Cornwall and people here are much more worried about all the tourists coming down today, on the same day as pubs reopening is just madness. As you can see some people are letting their feelings be known lol

I’m not sure viral load manages to go through tents , but I do see your point ... although outside transmission does seem to be limited based on marches , beaches , and VE Day congas .... although the discussion is based on festivals once sport returns with crowds the argument against festivals not happening begins to weaken

Very true. I can't see football carrying on to next spring with no crowds. Once this becomes common place we are looking much more positive surely.

Do we think Di will be back next year then?  I truly hope so

She has rescheduled her show at Eden Project for next June so she's certain I would say.

Hopefully not. They didn't last show anything last time (and announced that policy in advance) so with any luck that precedent will hold. I think the last time they did show anything was 2010 and most people would agree that was a mistake.

As it stands, the Euro 2020 schedule means that England are unlikely to play on one of the Festival days anyway (would be the Tuesday before and the Monday after). Who knows what happens if the schedule changes.

I went to see QOTSA at Eden project on the same night England played Columbia in the world cup. The game was shown on big screens there, England won on penalties just as the band started playing. Was one of the best nights of my life. Wont ever happen again though (england winning on penalties that is.. )

Doubt Wembley will be confirming any concerts for next summer yet.

Their main priority is hosting multiple games in the rescheduled Euro 2020 - currently the tournament is pencilled in for June+July, but depending on when various leagues restart (and can finish), there's a decent chance it slips into August.

I've never been to Glastonbury when euros are on. Am I right in thinking they show the games on a big screen at the festival?

    Pyramid

Friday: Billie Eilish // Dave // Elbow // Sigrid

Saturday: Paul McCartney // Lizzo // Aerosmith // HAIM // Crowded House

Sunday: Arctic Monkeys // Dua Lipa // The Specials // Diana Ross

    Other

    Fatboy Slim // AJ Tracey

    Lorde // Sam Fender

Pet Shop Boys // Doja Cat

You can work out most of the rest!

Surely Idles will be back next year after the new album and surge in fan base.

I think The Cure was the smallest headliner I have ever seen on the Pyramid. I was on the right hand side and could easily walk through gaps to go to the toilet and back. I assume this means Christine and the Queens, and The Streets had massive crowds?

In 2017 Alt-J had an absolutely tiny crowd as the Other stage headliners up against the Foo Fighters/ The Jacksons.

I was at The Streets and it was packed out. Tent was rammed and hundreds of people in the field behind.
