One week after Kalorama. Maybe some of these names can go to Kalorama (like Years & Years). And the theory i posted before, that Muse would be Headliners is again alive . Let's see what will happen

To be honest, and after making an exercise , i have no idea who might be. Almost all the big bands that are on Europe that day, have already a gig at 18th. Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Rammstein, Pearl Jam, and others.... Then we have Coldplay that their american tour will end only 4 days before the 18th. There are Rolling Stones that only have Stadium Dates, and it might be too expensive for RIR Lisbon right after a 2 year Hiatus Arcade Fire, that have a scheduled recorded, but they don't have any date And there are Muse, that have gigs in 17th and 19th near Portugal, but they aren't very famous on doing 3 straight days.

To complete Daniel Ferreira answer, João Carvalho (the main director of the festival), in an insta live interview, 2 days before this announced, told that all the portuguese bands will indeed perfom on the 16th, but on 2 stages. It will start at 14h00 in the afternoon and end at 05h00 in the morning

At Nos Alive the Faith No More replacements are Mother Mother

So it seems they are the official replacaments of Faith No More , at Nos Alive (since it was also announced that the main stage for the 9th is closed)

They are a cult band, and maybe the biggest indie/rock band in Portugal, that officially ended in 2002, after 2 very sucessfull albuns. In 2012 they returned for a special 10 year anniversary since their ending, doing 1 festival show, and 6 indoor shows, in 2 different venues, and going to sleep after that. In 2019 they made another return for about 3-4 special shows, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their 2nd album, and are coming back now, for 2 more special shows to celebrate their 30th anniversary (it was supposed to be in 2021)

For me it added the only names i wanted to see at Cala Mijas, so it is perfect for me. However this line up made me think that maybe Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk will also be headliners. Let's see what more will be added in the future

So it seems he will share the main stage with Metallica

It is a common practice in Portugal, to turn the timesets public, only the week before

All festivals in Portugal are quiet , except for Super Bock Super Rock. Even Nos Alive that was announcing 2-3 names per week has gone also quiet Maybe they are waiting for how the pandemic is going

The venue the festival will happen is the same Rock in Rio Lisbon happens, and RIR usually put 100k people in the attendance. So that is another reason i believe there will be at least bands similar in size/hype, as Arctic Monkeys. but let's see what will happen.

Yes, they announced that this weekend the price would change. But i am quite surprise that this change isn't accompanied by new announcents (as i think last time they announced in the morning).

for whats is worth, Arctick Monkeys are with bigger letters thant Krafterw and Chems, so that makes me believe that there are still 2 headliners missing . Yet in Portugal, almost all festivals love to announce their headliners one by one, and not all at the same time

I think he would only be headliner in Medium Sized festivals like Paredes de Coura or Super Bock Super Rock. We don't yet if Kalorama intends to be a big or medium festival( however with the chosen venue i think they want it to be big). If we were talking about Oasis, they would definetely be headliners anywhere, but i don't think neither Noel and Liam solo acts are hyped enough in Portugal . However with my last post i think we are going to have Muse as headliners, and since they are in other festivals with Arctic Monkeys at close dates of Kalorama, i have a feeling the third headliners will be Rage Against the Machine . Let's see what will happen. Next Sunday there will be a change of price, and price changes usually come with new bands in the line up

For what is worth, some friends of mine were complaining that Muse aren't booked in Portugal yet, and one of them tagged the festival page on Twitter, and the festival account decided to answer it. So possibly we are going to have Muse as one of the headliners

Hot Chip are already at Super Bock Super Rock. It is only in a very few rare cases, that non-portuguese bands, go to more than one portuguese festival, in the same year

It was The official page of Nos Alive that posted for some minutes the line up with Stormzy on the card, so he will be there.

Kinda surprised that Cala Mijas had new confirmations and Kalorama still don't have more news.

Os Quatro e Meia announced, and seems the festival itself leaked Stormzy for the third day, since he wasn't announced yet. However since i think he is an artist for main stage, i don't think it will be a good idea to put it in front of portuguese Metallica fans....
