The roar at WH when Jeff Goldblum was going through the different tribes saying "Scousers? People from Liverpool? Any Scousers out there?"
For some reason that tickled me,
As for this year, when Paul McCartney brings Elton John on stage

Elvana is spectacular
Will try and see both their sets

I think we'll go see them despite the clash.
We will have had a full dose of nostalgic sing along the previous evening.

The Aussie clash from hell with Confidence Man and Crowded House. What a killer.

Somebody had info Jack White was gonna be there and he ain’t on the lineup, so him perhaps?
Otherwise could be literally anybody. We also had info of a 1975 secret set.
mea culpa, seemed such a good source too.
Can only hope he might be a secret set

No Jack White.
Clearly my inside info wasn't worth the bollocks it was written on

Listening to 6music now and Gemma Cairney has said that tomorrow's show they will be going through the BBC's lineup schedule so I don't think they'll do that without the full lineup timings out.
I've realised that I've literally got nothing better to do today then wait for that to happen.
Somewhat concerning.

I'd like to think / believe that you are right in your assessment of ageism in the UK, but I actually know that there is a huge swathe of people to whom that does not apply. However, it wouldn't be of young people 'against' the old. It would be a case of an older generation against the young. In almost another universe I happen to visit the online version of the Daily mail site, which is where I have gleaned evidence of this prejudicial point of view.
Sad on both fronts - that the prejudice exists (when it could be so much more beneficial to both parties if it didn't exist), and that I visit the Daily Mail website.
Interesting, well they may be mirror images of each other.
There is the universal "youth of today" moaning that has always gone on, but I don't detect that to any unusual degree in Australia.

It's quite funny
This place used to have NO age divide but in the last 2/3 years it really has..
I'm in the older camp 50+
Was going to be say more but can't be arsed lol
Living in Australia, which is a considerably more ageist culture than UK, I've always found it refreshing to see how the ages mix so easily and without apparent judgement in Britain.
I'm aware I could be completely wrong, but, I used to attribute it to the British local pub where families would go to the local and all generations would be together. Simply doesn't happen that way in Oz.
I'd hate to think that is disappearing.
I don't think asking age range is a problem though, except for one comment in this thread.

Would expect A. Haim to put in an appearance there.
You'd think so, she was brilliant.

I can recommend Licorice Pizza, PT Anderson re creating a 70s vibe.
Can't see us going to a movie, though, 2 hours out of a packed schedule not feasible

Nice surprise and a great band, saw them with King Gizzard at the Gizzfest, and been listening ever since:
Smoke and Mirrors a really good track

Love that.
There’s loads of their songs on YouTube, what else of theirs do you recommend, cheers.
Well this is my favourite one, at a great little Aussie festival Golden Plains.
I love her languid dis-affectedness. Playing up to a stereotype very recognisable in stuck up wealthy Sydney culture. (As close as we get to a Sloane I guess)
I mean she can't really sing, and the song isn't great and yet it's somehow euphoric.

72 and not ashamed of it. Been going since Glasto -2 (Bath Blues Fest) and -1 (Shepton Mallet). As I've aged I've gone from tent via trailer tent to big caravan as I appreciate some home comforts, like an indoor lavvie for those middle of the night moments. But I least I can say I saw all the great bands from the time they were starting off.
I'll be 53 by the time of this year's festival, and find this post to be inspirational.
I'm going to go to as many as I can.
What areas / stages have you never visited?
