  1. Watch this space........ something 'Rising' perhaps? More I cannot say yet but perhaps look at keeping the 28th to 30th July 2023 free as those dates may be of great interest to Bearded folks.
  2. Maybe there will be something Rising that might take your fancy..................
  3. Hard to find the right words to describe it but more 'entitlement' by more people. Less caring by all too many. We last went in 2019 and it was fabulous but there were parts that felt more like BST than GF if that makes sense.
  4. There are other ways to do things without adding any them and us stuff or just increasing prices adinfinitum - but sadly prices will always go up for anything but there is also a ceiling that means any event or service ceases to attract the required number of customers and thus fails. Where there is a will there is a way and for GF to be the one that sells out to corporate sponsorship is, IMHO, unthinkable given what it stands for. That said our days at GF are over cos we noticed a change and did not like it and the body is older and more broken so smaller is now better.
  5. If that is how the festival goes they might as well go the whole hog and have it sponsored by the Tory party. Glastonbury Festival is not about any of what you suggest and never should be. 'Them and us' has no place at any festival.
  6. and the first of their videos was some shrooms........ or likely toadstools and Pixies sit on toadstools.
  7. Wise words - but I select the last little bit as that is how so many people feel and I am not sure that DHP really get it (I hope to be proven wrong) and certainly all too many people on social media do not get it and instead choose to insult those that do.
  8. and it would not and could not cover any other people apart from those who were named directors........ so plenty of others who might be minded to do something new.
  9. More than delightful - just perfectly wonderous. As Picard would have said, 'Make it so'. Perhaps as a very specific term that referred to a given date range but a blanket ban would be highly unusual in any such contract.
  10. I have been told it was actually the old owner who decided it had to go up to 15k this year - otherwise it would have been cancelled. I have no reason not to believe the person who told me. Our view is the same as yours on BT though - we will see how it goes as it is not just the increase that will change it, but the change in people who go. So many of the people who were always there will now not be so tickets will go to others who may not have that same attitude perhaps - maybe lots of Truck festival people might buy tickets. Truck people are lovely, but just very very different if you see what I mean. Now if only some of the old organisers were sorting a new festival that would be announced soon.
  11. My logical brain would suggest that all the thoughts about where the new Big Top could go will be answered by looking at this map - from 2019 when the Circus was tried out. Just replace the word Circus with the words Big and Top and it all works. Even the new Knockerdown Inn could stay.
  12. The variety club was excellent with kids stuff in the day then comedy and a great, and always packed, disco in the evening. I think it was a really good addition and hope it remains. If the comedy moves to the Big Top not sure why it would empty if it started raining as the Big Top's are tents, so it would likely fill up if it rained.
  13. No stages cut according to the email - "in addition to all our beloved stages"
  14. and more info just in from them. "the school will still be on site, our accessibility information is on our website (which is currently having some updates but I've linked it above), the capacity won't be increasing this year."
  15. Considering it has been 3 years since the last sale that is not actually that much more - which makes me wonder if the capacity has gone up more as an additional new stage does not come cheap
  16. They have just posted this on the FB group - why it was not on the email who knows!!! Hey everyone! Hope you like the new artwork, we’re also updating our website over at beardedtheory.co.uk We wanted to share a bit more info with you in here to help you plan ahead of next week’s on sale. We’ve frozen our Child and Teen prices at £40 and £65. We have two Early Bird ticket prices this year, the first Early Bird price is £155, then £165 then our final Weekend Ticket price will be £175 (plus booking fees). Our monthly payment plans mean you can split the cost of your ticket from when you purchase right up until May 2023, so if you buy straight away it’ll be around £20 per month until we’re back at Bearded! We’ve also seen some questions about taking your own booze into the festival, we won’t be making any changes to that and you’ll still be able to bring your own alcohol along with you – cheers! We’ll have more updates soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
  17. 2023 DATES ANNOUNCED! 🍄🌳 25-28 MAY 🍄🌳 We are incredibly excited to confirm the dates for next year's festival! As usual, we'll be back at Catton Park on 25th-28th May to mark the start of summer. Plus, the Monday bank holiday is back! Set your ticket reminders now and get online quick to bag yourself an exclusive Early Bird ticket. SET A TICKET REMINDER HERE We know the cost-of-living crisis is affecting everyone, so we have frozen our prices for Teen & Child tickets. You can also take advantage of our monthly payment plans, meaning that if you buy next week, you can spread the cost of your ticket from purchase right up to May 2023. We're also very happy to announce that in addition to all our beloved stages, we'll be adding a brand-new big top stage in the main arena, so you'll get to hear more music from more artists, in more places than ever before. We truly cannot wait to be back in the fields with you.
  18. The timeline for sales is as you say close. However prior to ticket sales the old guard would have issued newsletters, normally every month, with updates. They always addressed things that did not work or went wrong. That is the difference and that is why many people are concerned. Their concern does not make them arseholes.
  19. Which means we are now having this discussion on here and on FB LOL Have some straws again
  20. First mini video - we all think mushrooms but could be toadstools..... and Pixies sit on toadstools Then we have the hairy troll in cowboy boots - Snapped Ankles perhaps Hand with third eye - no idea Horned Animal waving - Tame Impala Waving tube pasta - Coral, so perhaps The Coral Probably all wrong, in fact I hope they are all wrong. Not cos not good but cos would all be more like reading an End of the Road line up or Green Man.
  21. My original post did say small events, hence the list of small events
  22. Hull Folk and Maritime Festival Steve's End of Summer Shindig Wigan Diggers Festival Penlee Park Open Air Theatre Just to name 4
  23. Lots of festivals have been cancelled, mostly smaller ones but cancelled none the less
  24. Cos we knew and trusted the old guard and since 22nd June DHP have said nothing and not even done what they said in their post of 22nd June. It does not build trust in them and given they were likely the cause of many of the issues people had at the 2022 festival (as they were more or less in charge) then it does make you feel more negative towards them. I sincerely hope they will give lots of details in their email this weekend but fear they will say little apart from when tickets go on sale - I can even see Tier prices being introduced and a separate Thursday ticket. I hope I am wrong
  25. Yep I would prefer simple words to simply tell us what is happening, when it is happening, how much it will cost and what if anything has changed.
