Hi. We are in the same boat with Oxfam. We volunteered for the first time last year, but both were cancelled. Hoping we are able to get places tomorrow for Glasto and Download. Good luck x

You’ll be fine getting a place tomorrow! Thank you, I’m feeling optimistic so hopefully see you there!

  2. I’d take 30+ again. I learnt my lesson in 2019. I was one of the fools who ended up in hospital with dehydration. Needless to say the walk from the Park to Bushy Ground without shoes was not the highlight of my festival.

I’m optimistic that it’s going to be easier this year. And that’s based on zero science. Just a hunch

I’ll trust your gut and optimism. They did send an email to say that they are taking on more volunteers than ever though which is positive. One week until crunch time

  4. I’ll be new this year, was supposed to work in 2020 but for obvious reasons I never. Quite looking forward to it actually a different take on the festival 🙂 I found it fairly easy to get a spot when the slots opened up last year. What do people think the chances are this year of securing a spot?

Sunday Headliners were ridiculous though.  Coldplay Vs LCD Vs Earth Wind & Fire Vs Grimes Vs Cyndi Lauper. Obviously made the right call to see one of the best gigs of all time in LCD but would have happily seen all of these.

I feel sorry for Jake Bugg who must of had 5 people watching him at John Peel given the above competition. Anyone there that can confirm it was 5 people?

I believe he pulled in half a decent sized crowd. I watched it back on iplayer when I got home. He was grateful to everyone who turned up for him to say the least. I did feel for him tho

It really depends. The drivers have to take breaks every so often, so you could be 30 minutes drive away but they have to take a 30-40 minute break. We got the coach from Manchester last time, and our driver got lost trying to get into the site, which probably added 30 mins on. They had to get a regular punter on the coach to help with directions, who sort of knew the way.

It was a bit frustrating but the benefit is you don't have to wait in a huge queue once you arrive. There's a separate enterance for coach arrivals at Gate A so it didn't take long to actually get into the site once we were there.

Just out of curiosity is Gate A only for coaches? We always camp right near Gate A but got the coach every time so far.

  7. Honestly, if it’s Billie, Kendrick and Macca I’ll be happy. I can appreciate how good Billie and Kendrick are as musicians and believe they do deserve the headline slots. However, I won’t be going to see either of them - they just aren’t for me. Macca on the other hand I will definitely go and see. I just feel like every year I need to see at least one headline slot on the pyramid and Macca will be that one this year - if they get confirmed of course.

Wouldn’t complain at Sam Fender and Paolo Nutini headlining the other stage. Wishful thinking on Paolo though.

Off glasto topic I know do apologise but Not complaining at them 2 headlining my local festival Victorious should be a belter that

Yeah I seen that, got a belter line up to be fair. If I weren’t so far I’d of went down for the weekend

We went for new air beds instead of fold up ones . Two singles so during the day we can pile one on top of the other creating a bit of space, that’s the main problem  with air beds. At least the fold up  one can be packed away. As age creeps up on you getting the sleeping sorted out takes precedence over how much beer you can carry on to site !

To be honest, the last two years I’ve been, I had a coach ticket so was limited to the things I could bring. Always planned on getting a blow up bed once we got there but the alcohol takes over and it never happened. But I’m driving this year so I will happily make an extra trip to the car to bring some comfort with me. My back can’t take it any more 😂

Varies apparently, some will let you in, some won't. Some will let anyone in before the festival opens to the general public.

Ah sweet, cheers. First time hopefully volunteering this year so will be nice to visit a few of the crew bars.
