    2024 Headliners

    Even smaller than GnR?
  2. Blur, The War On Drugs, Kendrick Lamar, Pet Shop Boys, Rosalia, New Order, Ghost, Depeche Mode, Turnstile, St Vincent, The Mars Volta, My Morning Jacket, Four Tet/Fred Again/Skrillex, Darkside, Sparks, Caroline Polachek, The Moldy Peaches, Death Grips, Black Country New Road, Alvvays, Built To Spill, CATQ, NxWorries, Bad Religion, John Cale, Japanse Breakfast, Loyle Carner, Alex G,... has a similar ring to it though. 2 brilliant lineups in a row.
  3. Why would you downvote me for this? 😅
  4. The Smile (LP2) touring in 2024 and Radiohead in 2025/2026? This one's optimistic. (And just came out of the swamp.)
  5. I was talking about Dua Lipa. Hope the manage to get her (even though she maybe is too big for festivals). Blink 182 can stay away though...
  6. That sounds horrendous. For me, a headliner always is just one of the many names on the lineup.
  7. YES! Would be huge If they managed to get her.
  8. I misread 'hopefully Mad Cool can book Bad Seeds.'
  9. Out of all these names The National and Fontaines DC are my biggest hopes.
  10. This. It reminds me of that moment where both Foo Fighters and The Cure played. But I wouldn't be surprised if Ed closes main 1 and The National close main 2 afterwards. Even if it is the other way round, it doesn't matter too much since The National will play to a dedicated audience.
  11. I do get your point but that's just not realistic. You are mentioning bands that are all over 30 years old. If you want to remain a 'rock' festival, you'll need the headliners. And most of those aren't too guitar oriented. I love all of Nine Inch Nails, RATM and The Cure (who I adore), but these bands aren't the future. The first two may never tour again and the third one are well in their sixties. Which current headliners would you like to see headline a festival like Rock Werchter (just like new headliners RATM and PJ did in the 90's)?
  12. A bit weird to say this, actually. I am not against bands like Muse or Green Day or RHCP, but doesn't booking those bands make your festival more like any other festival than -lets say- Dua Lipa or Lana Del Rey (who rarely play(ed) festivals like this)? Again: I do like (love) rock music, but it's exactly these older headliners that make a lineup a bit like any other festival from the last 20 years. You may not like them, but it was Stromae / Stormzy that made the last RW lineup a bit more unlike other editions (whereas Arctic Monkeys, Muse, RHCP, QOTSA all played it many, many, many times and where a bit 'been there, done that'). I'm all for having a good guitar driven band that have never headlined the festival before though (like Tool 2019 and The Strokes 2020).
  13. And I have the feeling The National has became bigger than ever. And, maybe, better than ever. Coming from someone who has been seeing them live since Boxer came out.

    2024 Headliners

My guess he'll do it in 2025. Pyramid headliner, yes.
  15. Why the doubt? Foo Fighters has been confirmed by the festival organisator back in July. I'm more curious about the other names.
  16. Other Stage headliner is my guess.
  17. Are we going back to 6 days then? Or do you think all these headliners could be crammed into an 3 day festival?
  18. Bit too early for PJ I think. Take one of those 3 out and we're good.
  19. Last year was all about the big names. Apart from 2022 I can't remember them having so much expensive headliners on one lineup. Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Depeche Mode and Rosalia on the same lineup is pretty huge.
  20. Also About Today. And they didn't play Eucalyptus so you'll get that cracker this evening.

    2024 Headliners

Coldplay and Foos are not my cup at all.
  22. Blasphemy! Depeche Mode are legends. Excellent live act too.

    2024 Headliners

No lineup will beat that Primavera 2022 double weekend thing.
