Guess you have your take on it, which differs from mine. That’s cool. I think Dua far more likely than any two Glastonbury first time female headliners I can come up with, however I feel that piece has been accurately reported. It’s “the Glastonbury boss also revealed” bit that I can’t quite make sense of. What else could she have said that as paraphrased like that? As I say though, just my opinion on the article.

christ ... I like em kind of but they do stink and are clearly a risk
Can’t disagree....but that set was early afternoon, and the John Peel was absolutely jumping. I for one loved it. I’m struggling to think of another set I’ve been at with that kind of vibe so early in the day.

yep for flares ...
There were flares galore in John Peel when Gerry Cinnamon played in 2019. Couldn’t see the stage for the smoke at several points. Nobody seemed bothered.

That’s the one. Straight opposite entrance to Big Top.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered... What time does the big top close?
Thursday 11:50pm
Friday 01:30am
Saturday 01:30am
Sunday 7:20pm
Stage times should be similar to 2022, all here...l

Yep. Real ones were watching Ziggy Marley last year.
I was at Ziggy. Feeling a little bit smug about it now.

Is Other Opener a bit of an iconic slot? Like, are we talking:
1. Pyramid Headliners, 2. Legend Slot, 3. Other Opener?
I think the reason it’s a big deal is because it signifies the opening of the main stages, as it’s scheduled slightly earlier than Pyramid. There’s usually someone pretty well known in that slot, and a bit retro. I wouldn’t put it immediately below Legend in terms like you have though, headlining Park, Woodside, etc or even subbing a main stage (for example) are (in my opinion) much more of a deal.

haha I was going to suggest:
No house or techno here
but I thought better of it 🙂
Actually, it was slightly tongue in cheek. If I’m honest, I usually make a point of going for a fish finger sandwich at one point, and then spending a short while in the Circus tent. I’ve always enjoyed it, you never know what you’re going to see, however it’s always during any brief gap in my music schedule.

Great fish finger sandwiches nearby.

Texas another poster possibility

They could share the orchestra with James who are doing similar, are playing Bristol Sounds on the Friday, but free the Saturday and Sunday.

as there don't seem to be acoustic acts on what's been announced,
I thought this. It’s made me really hope for some unexpected pleasant surprises (and unpleasant clashes) when the Acoustic line up is announced.

Which stage announcement is everyone looking forward to the most? Park for me, if only to get headliner clash disappointments out of the way 😅
I always like Acoustic and Avalon announcements, there’s always a couple of pleasant surprises on those for me.

Hmm....personally I think I'd get a spot for Candi stage right near the path to Cabaret. I'd then head to Cabaret, left into Bellas, up through Theatre then across into Acoustic along the path and left across Muddy Lane into Kidney Mead and Pyramid.
It's a long way round but is still likely to be quicker than heading through market, Williams Green etc.
Part of me (the selfish part) resents you making this public knowledge..... I’ve been getting to busy headliners via Acoustic for years, then working my way forward from the path through Big Ground.... the fewer people know about this the better!

Is Manics Friday Park confirmed?
Not yet, but that seems to be the consensus in the who plays where thread. Think they were down to play that spot in 2020.

Think my Friday night is sorted. Young Fathers on West Holts, followed by a slow walk up to Park for Manics, and spend the rest of the night up in that area of the site.

Looks like they clashing with Fred Again.. worst possible :(((
Neil has them confirmed as a Friday act, so I’d say the poster confirms they’ll be the West Holts Friday sub. Feel your pain, but Fred not for me, so I’m happy (so far)!

So is that Young Fathers subbing in Friday? That’s how it reads…
Really hope so. My one must see on that poster.

Worst was Biffy Clyro by far.
Someone threw lager over my 12 year old daughter during The Libertines, not long after she had fallen and scraped both her knees. We were only there to get a good spot for Flo, which we had to relinquish to get her cleaned up (and calmed down). Probably an all time Glastonbury low point for me, so in terms of worst ever I’ll go with that.

Stones secret set confirmed.

Looked into this, and I’m very surprised how few I’ve been to. Of those I’ve seen, have to give another vote to The XX before Radiohead.

Leaving aside the thought of drinking an entire bottle of vodka, 5L is roughly 5kg. Not carrying that around all day.
Elton John: Will You Be There?

Not sure why folk are too bothered about being far back in the Pyramid field. Sound is excellent, screens are great, and it’s a natural amphitheatre. For the very busy sets, I usually enter from the back via Big Ground, and just move forward until I find a spot I’m comfortable with. True you have to meander through the chair and blanket brigade, but sound and visuals are excellent, and it has the added bonus of allowing a reasonably swift exit at the end. Yes, the idea of being front and centre for Elton sounds appealing, but the effort involved getting to and from that spot, and the risk of finding yourself trapped and claustrophobically challenged for the entire time just isn’t worth it.
