I noticed that five of the first seven comments  have come from Scots. I wonder if it was a cider announcement where the replies would have come from😊

Tennents next official lager or we march south. With pitchforks and torches.

  2. Hi

Driving from Scotland (Fife), setting off on Sunday 18th. Don’t know where you are in Scotland, but I’ve got plenty of room. Anything you can get to me before 18th, happy to take down for you. DM me if interested. It’ll cost you a pint of cider (not sweet!) at the Cider Bus.

  3. Come on all. I've got my ticket, but paying forward big style for you all. As an aside, and probably not what you want to hear, but I'm so excited. It's like ticket day, but with no pressure. An unusual experience, but I'm stoked. I so want to make someone's day tomorrow.

  4. Most young people don't have a lot of spare cash, and Glastonbury is now an expensive endeavour no matter how you do it. I suspect many/most of the young people attending are only able to do so courtesy of the bank of Mum and Dad. That in itself excludes a good many of the left leaning politically charged youth. Sadly.

  5. Thanks everyone.... could have saved you all the bother by just reading the website! I’m all over this. The more tickets I secure, the more cider I drink. That’s the rules.

  6. Ok, I was so grateful to get my own ticket this year, it’s only right I do something by way of appeasing the ticket gods in the future. I’m available to help both Thursday and Sunday. One quick question, I assume I pay for any I’m successful with and am refunded (by both bank transfer and Cider Bus purchases!). Was a bit puzzled by the comment in the first post of the thread that payment issues were sorted?

It's good for families during the day when they want to rest their children from things. And I have had some really fun times late at night after the main acts have finished, going to watch a 1am showing of Rocky Horror, Ghostbusters or some other cult film with packed crowds joining in with all the famous quotes etc. And on the Thursday evening I have been to a few UK Premieres with people like Brad Pitt and Tilda Swinton appearing to introduce their films. That's the great thing about Glastonbury, something for everyone.

This. Been to see Finding Dory, and of course Shaun the Sheep. My profile pic is a crop from a photo taken there in 2015 (iirc).

  8. There’s a wee bit more to the minimum unit price legislation though. Whilst all the above posts are true/accurate, the bit that’s often missed, yet a real pain, is that it’s also now against the law in Scotland to promote alcohol quantity.... so buy one get one free, or 4 for the price of 3 type offers are illegal. In short, you are not allowed to offer discount for buying more.

I simply don't know how I would deal with the injustice of that. One assumes there must be some very unofficial cross border activity going on to alleviate such a thing.

I deal with it by just drinking more. Feels like I’m sticking it to the man every time I get pished.

And I can always stop off at Tesco on my way down to Somerset!

The Avalon poster was the one that got me so excited last year, and yet I didn't end up seeing anything there. Except our friend's band in the tea tent (can't remember the name of the tent) but the band was JS and the Lockerbillies. Catch them if you see them there again. Usually perform a couple of times 👍🏼

Think they were calling it the Flying Machine Cafe, but I still think of it as the Avalon Cafe.

IMO there's no point being at the Pyramid unless you're within the inner barrier.

    Personal POV of course

Do you just mean for busy sets? Surely it’s far nicer to be lying chilling in the sunshine to Ziggy (for example) than in front of the barrier?
