  1. OCS, amazing 😍 And even better that they’re headlining saturday evening. I had no headline act on saturday yet, so that slot is perfect to me.
  2. Can someone figure out which acts are playing which day?
  3. Will Fontaines headline on friday, which means the only 2 gigs I’m really looking forward to will clash? 😭

How sure are we about SZA headlining the Pyramid? If I'm correct we only have 1 source pretending this, right? I'm nog buying it. She has had a LOT of streams recently, but I suppose the vast majority of them comes from the US. She's really not well known in UK or Europe by the average music lover. Just look at the other festivals she's playing in Europe this summer: small ones (We Love Green, Primavera Porto) or mid-sized (Primavera Barcelona). Primavera festivals target a specific market of alternative music fans, a totally different approach than Glasto that targets a way bigger, more diverse audience. Not only is she as a person/artist completely unknown to the average Brit/European, even her songs with >1 billion streams didn't have a lot of airplay on radio stations etc. (I'm Belgian, maybe in the UK she had more airplay). She has 0 festival anthems. Looking at the previous years, that 's a big box to check to headline the Pyramid. Even Lana, who is also really big in terms of streaming and who is headlining other big European festivals, played the Other last year. And on top: for what I know SZA doesn't have a stunning live reputation. So... I really doubt Emily has booked het for Pyramid closing act. Would be a perfect Other headliner, tho. And I'd take her over other rumours as KoL any day. But no, as long as there's no announcement, I don't believe this rumour. Field would be historically empty & BBC won't have a lot of viewers.
  5. Same... Would be a huge bummer if they don't play Glasto. From all the acts rumoured, they were the number 1 on my wishlist, by far. Hope the poster drops before friday 9u. 🤞
  6. Nice! Based on the rumours, it seems like I'll be hanging around The Park a lot this year.

Maybe some things got lost in translation, but I didn't moan at all? Or at least I never meant to. I said it's strange for me (as a Belgian dude) to see him in the headliner conversation because he's a rather small act over here. I even ended my post with: "Would be a bummer if he headlines (or even subs) for me, but as there are plenty of other stages around I won't complain offcourse." I never said he's not worth headlining Glasto. But if he did, it would be a bit disappointing to me (personally), because there are only 3 of those slots. But I'd prefer Dave as a headliner above Coldplay any day, be sure about that.

For sure not bigger than Editors.😉

Offcourse I didn't mean literally no one. And offcourse I'm not 100% up to date with the UK Hiphopscene, I suppose that's quite normal and you guys aren't with other foreign music scenes. I'm just pointing out he really is way way bigger inside the UK than outside. For example: he played Pukkelpop last year, a Belgian festival, and had a spot at 8 PM in a tent, before Marc Rebillet and Jungle (who headlined the tent). And to state it clear: that's totally normal. In Belgium there's also a lot of acts that get headliner spots at Belgian major festivals like Rock Werchter, who'll not get it in other countries. For example Oscar & The Wolf, Bazart, Stromae, Balthazar, and ... Editors 😅

I'm from Belgium and honestly, nobody here has ever heard of Dave before. Stormzy, Central Cee, even Skepta are way bigger here. And with bigger, I mean that they could sell out a venue of +- 2000 tickets. 😀 When Dave came on stage with Central Cee last year, I had no clue who he was and why the crowd went nuts. I checked his music when I came home, & really can't see why he's so big in the UK. Would be a bummer if he headlines (or even subs) for me, but as there are plenty of other stages around I won't complain offcourse.
  11. Had a drink with the booking agent of Mdou Moctar yesterday. He confirmed they will play Glastonbury (and Roskilde).

The 'big US act' that Emily was talking about... couldn't that be Miley Cyrus? - She indicated earlier this year that she no longer wants to do big tours - But... she made one of the biggest and widely appreciated pop albums of this year, with a lot of big hits, and I can't imagine she won't play any gigs at all next year. If she chooses to play a few... Glastonbury is the 'go to' festival for rather unique gigs like these. - She played Glasto before 5 years ago, a positively received gig Personally I won't rule her out for one of the headline spots (especially when Dua decided to play Coachella instead of Glasto).

My two cents: one of the best opening songs I've ever seen for a headline concert. And I'd never heard that song before I saw them performing it last friday.
