If this ain't a windup it's definitely a sure sign lineup's coming then.
-
Think we need to start a thread to discuss pyramid subs cause i can't think of many that'd fit this year.
-
I still reckon there's chance O-Rod will sub Dua on Saturday.
-
Yeah thinking about it the better comparison that year would be Billie vs Foals. I can imagine them getting an older act on another stage though, maybe Patti Smith on the park, and a more lively act like Jessie Ware on WH.
-
The National can only do the Sunday. What if they end up making The National sub again and put them on before SZA, and stick Pulp up against her on the Other stage? Can imagine they'd split the Glastonbury audience nicely there. The National up against SZA doesn't feel right, you can imagine they'd want an older band like they had with Pet Shop Boys and Kendrick.

Really like the new Kali Malone. Would recommend for those who like slow, droney, meditative music.
-
And I'm sure SZA's crowd numbers probably would be too. I don't think the festival cares that much, they'll make sure there's enough on for everyone.
-
I remember all the same comments when Arcade Fire were announced to headline 2014.
-
Give it till 10am and then we give up 😀
-
Agreed that Ctrl is the better album. This one makes you feel things.

I was more thinking so people who don't have glastonbury tickets and want to see SZA don't think, "let's just try the glastonbury resale" instead of getting the BST tickets Friday.
-
I mean it's not just pitchfork, she was best album on quite a few end of year lists. Rolling stone included https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-lists/best-albums-2023-1234879538/sza-sos-2-1234890220/. Either way she's got definite commercial and critical appeal, she might not have Kendrick's genius mantle but she has the whole ~important artist of today~ mantle.
-
Yeah I completely agree she isn't anywhere near Kendrick imo, and Pitchfork is a load of rubbish. Though that is our opinion and we can't deny Pitchfork does have some cultural clout within the music industry whether we like it or not.

SZA tickets for BST go on sale at 9am on Friday 8th. Another sign we might get our lineup shortly afterwards? 10am?
-
SZA's new album was ranked Pitchfork's best album of last year, she has a bit of a genius mantle too. https://pitchfork.com/features/lists-and-guides/best-albums-2023/

Is it worth adding SZA as at least a Rumour now too?
-
This live concert is a bit of a vibe, though it is about 7 years old now!
-
SZA must have an appeal to a section of the glastonbury audience, I was ready to write off seeing any of the Pyramid headliners this year, but now the idea of her headlining has got me more excited for the festival! I've been listening to her all day. Going to make the clashes even more difficult. Does this seem to be nailed on now or are we all, in true efest spirit, acting like it is but it's still up in the air? Is this info legit?

Can't wait for the scenes on here when Madonna gets announced to headline BST Friday.
-
100% agree. Booking both SZA and Dua Lipa this year would be a pretty pivotal moment for the festival. It would show they are looking forwards not backwards and it'd probably mark a bit of a change in glastonbury's audience into the future. I wasn't believing SZA headlining yesterday because it's not something glastonbury would usually do but I have hope they do it now.
-
Yeah The National ain't headlining glastonbury this year. Fantastic other stage headliner, terrible Pyramid headliner.
-
Better be. Would be a top booking
-
You might be onto something here. I can see Emily posing the idea that they have "co-headliners" SZA and O-Rod on Sunday. Definitely shows how they're championing women this year by technically having 3 female headliners.
-
Just seen the SZA news. Interesting to see she hasn't been called a "UK festival exclusive". BST would do that if she was. Hasn't been booked for any other UK festivals yet has she? Not sure what else are yet to announce headliners other than glastonbury. I reckon she's playing but the question is whether she's a headliner or takes a sub spot.
-
I can imagine even if she doesn't drop any names on Thursday she could say something like "2 of our headliners this year are female" which would be a massive hint for us.
