  1. anyway, I can't remember any major complaints about Corbyn policy from anyone...there were some who thought he was a stupid choice for leader because he'd never win, but that changed after 2017 when Labour did a lot better than many expected. There were also some who were critical about the antisemitism thing, especially a couple of the jewish journalists. And then there were some who questioned his ability to do what was needed to win an election, and in the end they were proved right. Some of Labour's economic ideas were popular, nationalising utilities and railways, higher taxes for higher earners, scrapping tuition fees...all that sort of stuff...but they kept f**king up on social and security stuff...dumb reactions to salisbury poisonings, all his pacifist won't push the button thing, saying Churchill was a villain...etc.
  2. doesn't everyone do that? Complain about stuff they don't agree with? That's why everyone apart from the left moan about Owen Jones.
  3. I'd be up for Costa Rica.
  4. well Guardian is I guess a centre left paper, but has a columnists with a range of opinions from left to right, but obviously most are kind of lefty. The paper has been mostly supportive of Labour, but some times also critical of it's policies and whoever is leader, from Blair to Corbyn to Starmer. I don't remember any particular jounalist or opinion writer who was critical of Corbyn who gets anywhere near the amount of sh*t Owen Jones does..whether for him being critical of Starmer or his pro trans takes etc...but at same time I think Jones kind of is up for it, he's always all over social media, and seems to love an argument and can get in a right strop. I sometimes find him annoying it has to be said, but at same time he is passionate and makes a lot of valid points....as do many of the same people who were critical of Corbyn.
  5. Another poll of polls to feast on (or ignore)
  6. Anyway, Rwanda bill will probably pass this week and suddenly Rwanda will be a safe country to send those horrid illegals.
  7. ok, well Owen Jones gets sh*t loads of vitriol aimed thrown at him for what he writes and says, you know that right?
  8. you kiddng? you mean people don't complain about Guardian because that's mostly who he writes for?
  9. so after all the accusations that he was a islamist terrorist or a zionist terrorist it turns out he was a misogynist terrorist and the only man killed was a security guard who tried to intervene and was a refugee from Pakistan.
  10. I think interesting to post sun/mail links because whether we like it or not they are influential...look at this Rayner story for example.
  11. I often post guardian links as it is the only broadsheet that isn't behind some sort of paywall (I think)...and I read it and it's kind of where I am, middle class lefty.
  12. I only read Socialist Worker or The Express.
  13. Just think we make it clear that anyone who posts a Sun or Mail link is a c**t.
  14. ...also..a nice distraction from the horrors of Gaza which will please Bibi.
  15. How about this one...
  16. also...the mods don't like Mail links?
  17. just hope they can persuade Israel against any retaliation. US and others help arm Israel for defense reason, but what about offense?
  18. also attacker in Sydney was someone called Joe Cauchi, neither Muslim or Jewish..just shows how twitter can't be trusted as a reliable news source at all now.
  19. But also I guess shows that Israel will be well defended against any Iranian attack.
  20. I don't know, not sure they want an Israeli retaliation and further escalation. More a show that they have the capability to hit Israel and are willing to do it so back off. Something needs to be done starting with a solution to Palestine.
