2 mates have got theirs. Still trying here.
-
Well this is fun, isn't it?!
-
Me and my friend who I'm going with have both given each other our registration details. Do you think there'll be any harm in us both trying to get onto the site and book tickets for each other???
-
I don't reckon it'll be too bad. If only 120,000 people are registered, you can bet that 20,000+ won't bother. Most people will be applying for 2 tickets, which halves the number of people trying.
I reckon most people that try in the first 15 minutes will get some.

I am still in shock. Despite some of the rumours, never did I expect to hear Aerosmith's name read out. Never did I expect I'd have the chance to see them, especially after Steven Tyler fell off stage and landed on his head, after all this drama from the last few months. Combined with the announcement of Rage Against The Machine, and Billy Idol (!!!), I am over the moon. This is on course to be better than last year, hell, perhaps the best ever!
What does wind me up though is the staggering number of people I've seen complaining about the line-up, whether its from die-hard metalheads who can't open their mind, to Sonisphere fanboys preaching how 'inferior' the Download line-up is: this line-up is stuff of epic proportions! AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine, and Aerosmith, in the same weekend?! Its insane just thinking about it!
Those who also say that Aerosmith only do ballads need to look at their back catalogue - I can't wait for the likes of 'Sweet Emotion' and 'Back In The Saddle', as well as some of their more recent hits.
Get in!!!

I have zero interest in any of those 5 bands, but I suppose I can't complain. This must be the first time ever that I not only want to see all three headliners, but the next three too (TCV, Deftones, STP) - obviously no guarantee they will all be second on the bill.
-
In previous years haven't the second stage headliners finished earlier, so you can still watch best part of an hour of the main stage headliners.
-
Might watch Lamb of God. Apart from that, couldn't give a shit.
-
Thirty Seconds To Mars, Stone Sour, Billy Idol, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch
Not what I was hoping for at all.
-
Out of all the rumours, that is probably the best possible pairing for me.
-
Stone Sour have apparently been announced for RAR. So have Alice In Chains and Mastodon. Surely all three are likely for tonights announcement.

Tonight’s announcement will come in two waves – one at about 8pm, and another at half past midnight. Who’s staying up for it? #DL2010

As some of you may have read AC is claiming that one of the bands in tonights announcement will be the music story of the year. Now despite proudly wearing my skeptic hat when such claims are made, I thought a fun way to pass the time until the anouncement would be to speculate what this could be (assuming he's not just chatting shit)
I reckon it could be one of:
- Metallica playing, but not headlining
- System of a Down reforming (this rumour has resurfaced on the main boards after a claim made by someone from Lamb of God, and as someone pointed out, what bands say, and do are often different things)
-Soundgarden playing (same theory about saying/doing as SOAD)
- Aerosmith's last show with Tyler?
Speculate bitches!
-
I reckon GNR will headline Reading. I can't see them playing Download after last time.

I'd love to see RATM announced for the Saturday and GnR and Van Halen for Sunday.
With no one any good headlining the second stage.
-
I thought the first 3 or 4 songs in 2006 were amazing.
Then it went tits up.
-
I couldn't even really guess.
I think that Airbourne, Mastodon and Paramore will be three of them, but apart from that who knows!
-
I'll say that it's two of the heavily rumoured acts, but no more than that. I'm not 100% convinced by it anyway.
-
My source is the friend of a reliable source so I don't know exactly how reliable that source is but my friend tells me he's a very reliable source.
You get me?
-
Crikey.
-
I've been told two completely different headliners by another 'reliable source'. I'm not going to say on here as a) it's a secret, and b ) people will just say it's bullshit.
We'll just have to wait and see.

Was supposed to be going to Nebula in London on Friday but think lack of funds is going to rule that one out.
Definites are:
Invasion - 27th Feb
Skindred - 23rd Mar
Loud Howls fest - 10/11th Apr
Shrinebuilder - 18th Apr
Reef - 23rd Apr
Karma To Burn - 27th Apr

You know what. Ive been thinking that download is live nation, live nation does hard rock calling at hyde park, i reckon the rage gig is more likely to be the day before hrc starts to use the set up and the venue would be big enough its non camping so no one would be in the way whos going to the other days and ln might be thinking we can get people to stick around and pay for the other days.
