If they're good enough for the likes of James Corden...

I don't think that run of info is indicative of anything.

Guessing it’s Editors for the Castle Headliner then.
This was what I was talking about...

Felt a bit soon for much bigger than that.
I'm sure dots can be connected and people will be proved correct or otherwise with recent deductions

I can't get into that Caribou album. It feels a bit like an album that's been divided into 52 sections, allocated to a pack of cards, and shuffled just once.
There's lovely sections in it, but as soon as any sort of flow is created (or restored) then a jarring layer smashes through. But these interruptions are infrequent enough to lull me into some sort of illusion.
I think it might be good, but just not what I want from it.
Home is lovely though.

@eFestivals do you use amazon affiliate links? If so you might want to work some magic on the above

Yeah good point

Though unless their set was on the Pyramid or Other, it would have to be kept secret until they took to the stage for it not to be dangerously over crowded.
I 100% agree with this. They've had to cancel surprise performances in the past as word had got out, this would be a HUGE secret to keep for a performance in an area as already congested as SL

I'd have thought that in itself would be enough to get it shelved/moved to somewhere with a bigger capacity

Groovy shit
Really like this, can't help feeling it'll be more effective if the sun ever comes out again though.
Like the new Car Seat Headrest too;

Yeah looks like they're touring US over June.

Think you've got the wrong Pompey venue there
I 100% have and no idea why. Clearly not enough coffee this morning. Still an odd choice for the only non festival UK date
-
Of all the venues they choose a swimming pool in Portsmouth.
For what it's worth I think it's decent but a surprising choice. I'm guessing they need to get a ferry back onto the continent after download so they may as well play a night while they are down south.

The main reason I never go and talk to famous (greater or lesser degree) when I see them, especially at Glastonbury. All the ones I've seen are just there with their mates doing their own bad thing, must be utter shite to have that keep getting interrupted by gurning fools like me bumbling over.
100% wasn't going to intrude on his day. I don't even think he could've heard me, the eye contact must've been enough. Who knows, maybe he'd just walked out of the next pub having been approached and he just wanted a quiet pint.
After a google it was Ben not Tom.
I am Tom, but I don't think he could've known that, being Ben or otherwise.

Slightly off topic but one of the Royal Blood chaps once walked into a pub where we were watching the rugby before going to see them in Portsmouth (this is a few years back). He had his hood up, but within a few steps I nudged my mate and said something a long the lines of 'that's yer chap from Royal Blood' in what I thought was quite a quiet way.
He made eye contact with me, clocked he'd been recognised, sighed as his shoulders dropped then turned 180 and walked straight out again without saying a word. I felt bad for the guy for a while, I never would've approached him as he obviously didn't want to be bothered.

Frank carter and the rattlesnakes have got a gap from 20th June to 10th July.
I just have a feeling that they are playing.
Because it would seem to match their dates.
They went down well in JPT to a predominantly Killers crowd a few years ago. Would be great to see them back either there or on the Other maybe? There wouldn't be much that could keep me away from that.

Shit me that musical high didn't last long. Release Radar give'th, then it take'th away.

New single from Biffy and the lads is absolutely appalling - and that's even coming from a long-time fan of their older material!
11 hours ago, vintagelaureate said:It is really bad. Just radio friendly throwaway sound. I first saw Biffy in 2001/02 , they played to 7 people in a tiny bar. I adored them for their first three albums, and I understood what was happening with Puzzle (which I still like and accept they needed to make some money!). This is a world away from that.
I'm scared to listen but know I will anyway.
In more positive news, listening to this was a lovely 5 mins

It doesn't look like it's embedding well but it's Skinny Pelembe remix of Hejira, Save it for Another.

"All I can say is that I feel ready to make some music."
This and the other YYY dates seem to be destroying my last lingering hope that Karen O would do some Lux Prima performances...

Friday night was a clashterfuck of horrible proportions for me. IDLES or Dub Pistols, Jon Hopkins or Frank Turner. Still brings me out in sweats.
After not getting a ticket last year I'd have given a lot to have this dilemma!

Yeah it was baking hot too but a good way to get the day going.
I get the impression he's not too diva about where he plays on the bill, and he's certainly plateaued (of not peaked). Perhaps selfishly I'd like to see him do a similar slot again.

He's got an open invite to the left field and strummerville, can't see pyramid/other/park, maybe John Peel?
I could see him still pulling a decent crowd to the Other earlier on in the day and somewhere smaller later on.
His secret Strummerville set in 2010 is still one of my all time festival highlights.

They'd probably recycle their patter about going to play all night long which is about as stale as a week old Gregg's bap

I'm not saying she's not big enough to headline (and I wasn't a few years back either), but it's no more ridiculous a suggestion that some of the others on here and in my opinion far preferable to discuss than whether a misogynist was aiming for the table or the chaps head.

Having new music out is different to being rehearsed and road ready. Has she played any small gigs since breaking through or have they all been big production affairs?
According to the COS article I read the closest shes come to a performance is singing with the band at a mates wedding. With is being a 'surprise' slot in whatever guise, i.e. not headlining, surely production is less of an issue?
I'm sure she wouldn't go into it without warming up, but could still be on her road back to touring for her new album (if she decides to, wouldn't surprise me if she chooses not to).
-
Just to throw another name in the ring (I think, might have missed it on here but) Adele?
She's got a new album out this year? She clearly enjoyed herself headlining so could want to come back.
There's a strong argument that there is no need for her to come back this soon I suppose.
My first ever gig.....

Linkin Park in 2002, that was quite the introduction to live music.
Support included Xzibit, what a time to be alive.
