Can't really expect all of them to interest you given its basically 6 day festivals. They always have a day or two i'm interested in (at like £40)
Tbh I don't. It's not £40 now though.

The 50/50 debate was always a strange one. It should be about overall diversity. Race, colour, gender, sex and sexuality. The more diverse across the whole card the better it looks, personally.
It should just be about who's big enough etc for the slots on offer. No one is discriminating by not booking a certain field.

That 2019 lineup is going to take some beating. Excited to see who they book as the undercard!
Well one day of it anyway. That was the time APE interested me

I've had info from a very reliable source that the headliners are Arctic Monkeys, Dua Lipa and Depeche Mode.
I'd rather it be

I believe The Strokes are being announced in January
Let's have the YYYs sub.
So APE are the only festival wanting them again.

Funeral for a Friend have confirmed that they'll be active in 2023. They seem like the perfect headliner for The Cave
I think they would be higher than that.

FRIDAY: Dermot Kennedy, Franz Ferdinand, Milburn
SATURDAY: Jamie T, Bloc Party, Anne-Marie
SUNDAY: The Libertines, Paul Heaton, Maximo Park
About right.
I like Saturday minus Jamie T but Tramlines is never that good.

Halestorm, Alter Bridge and Lamb Of God all make sense as 3rd down or second stage headliners. Have we had any clarification about if Thursday is a full day on all stages? Cuz that adds several logo bands.
From the Rock AM Ring announcement hoping for Arch Enemy, Boysetsfire, Carpenter Brut, Jinjer, Gojira, NOFX and Incubus.
AB won't be 3rd.
-
So NOFX being at RAR means they could easily be at SD or Download.
The gaping hole in Papa Roach tour dates I think leads to this. They aren't going to announce any random solo dates and they did a tour of their own last time out. Chances are they would have to wait until March as it's different from a festival announcement so they aren't selling from end of March to July in England.
I'd love it.

WTF. Waiting all this time to get Kings Of Leon and Rise Against as headliners...
The second day with BMTH, MGK, Architects, Turnstile, Arch Enemy, Nothing Nowhere, Spiritbox and Sum 41 is really sick! Too bad the headliner is not the best that day.
I was thinking more Charlotte Sands and Maggie Lindeman. Top loads are shite

It was small, but I don't think it was small enough to be singled out as "the" example.
I watched both Arcade Fire and Metallica from pretty much the exact same spot, along the path at the top of the field and thought both had pretty much exactly the same sized crowd. But the unfashionable one gets mentioned in that context and the (until very recently) critics darlings haven't so much.
I wasn't there, but I suspect from the footage that there wasn't that much difference between Metallica and at least one of the headliners this year either. There's probably others around the same size over the years.
Muse last time was smaller.

Complete rubbish
FBS could barely sell out the SSE this year and thats at the height of his 'comeback' that seems to be happening at the moment whereas Bicep sold out 2 nights at ally pally instantly

Fatboy Slim is quite possibly the biggest DJ / producer in the world, alongside David Guetta. He's been top of the game for about 30 years, including drawing crowds of a quarter million on Brighton beach, headlining Glastonbury twice, headlining Wireless, Sziget, V-Fest, Ultra Music, Bestival, Coachella. He's also performed for the House of Commons and United Nations.
Bicep headlined Field Day which has a capacity of 25,000, have 2 studio albums - the best was given "generally favourable" reviews, and spawned 2 singles which got silver/gold listening numbers.
FBS isn't that relevant TODAY because he's a 60 year old man that last released a song (eat sleep rave repeat) about 10 years ago.
No he isn't, he was a long time ago. His come back was pretty huge though. Bicep will sell quicker now but will never have Fatboy Slims icon status. He does perform multiple festival shows just at Glastonbury so he's not rare.
Also to add, the only reason he can still do those shows south of the country is because that's where he comes from.

Lol, and when theyre 80% true? Also exactly the reaction I expected cause apparently if its not full of 3 year repeats and every band from London its not a good lineup for efests.
Funny thing is though I'm quite far away from the opinions and views of many efesters on here.
But I'm not a huge rap fan at all and my electronic side is quite selective. I'm quite a trance/commercial person and not really house or techno personally.
To give you a slight idea too, currently the 3 music festivals I'm looking to attend next year are Download....which is a rarity for the whole thing, Slam Dunk and Victorious with what's been announced and the idea of what could come.
13 minutes ago, therefused said:There is absolutely no proof in that whatsoever (Metallica headlined the festival only a few years ago!), and to compare a mosh pit to a crush is down right insane. What do you havr against metal fans personally? Seems like a bit of a vendetta there to me
I actually think The Nal is correct in the main part.
Glastonbury also as non profit need to be confident their festival will sell out and booking a band that don't sell out the biggest metal festival over here is quite telling for where they stand.

Did Y Not last year and smashed it. Leagues above Stereophonics who were also headlining the weekend. I'll be very happy with them personally.
Seemed primed for the bump up to Tramlines level especially if it's a year where organisers are struggling for mid sized headliners in general.
I have to agree that Blossoms are one of the least appealing I can think of

Not sure it ever has. No glasto headliner ever did Reading/Leeds the year before either so Arctics would be a first.
As below. If there was one act that could do it in England do it's them. Personally though I don't think a Reading second stage headliner is going to headline Glastonbury. It's not even like they can get away with it as a female diverse act.
Capaldi, Lizzo and Halsey to fit 3 of the sub/Pyramid sub slots.
2 hours ago, incident said:The White Stripes did I think.
Yup, they subbed 2003 Reading, headlined 2004 Reading which is a rare one year later bump to headline and they went on to headline Glastonbury 2005
What a decent Pyramid run on Friday of The Killers into White Stripes. Also at the time, Coldplay, New Order, Keane, The Coral and Ash

So excuse my naivety. i was there for the start of the Papa Roach journey, no i wont reveal my age hahaha, are they quite popular still / or again then? Seems quite a lot of chat on here about them?
I know they still release stuff but just not been on my radar for years. I would enjoy seeing them for the early days stuff mind you.
I like them but wouldn't say they were the most popular thing around.

the cribs have to be nailed on for this and id be absolutely ecstatic
They both shared The Sherlocks further down too. I think The Cribs will play Saturday.
Going by previous years there isn't usually another announcement until February but this first one came earlier in December and most festivals are announcing earlier.
I think Craig Charles funk and soul will be on Friday too.

Papa Roach aren't going to be headlining 2000trees. They don't fit the vibe of that festival whatsoever.
That is one thing I do agree on as well. They do however comfortably fit in with Shikari and Billy Talent at Slam Dunk given they would one one of the higher up bands.

It's the other way around, if you get Slam Dunk tickets before then you get entered into a raffle for a pair of Don Broco tickets. They're promoting Slam Dunk tickets, I wouldn't read too much into it.
Oh is it, that'll be last nights hangover haha

Yeah the only way Limp Bizkit look like they can do bigger slots is when they do a joint headline tour. For what it's worth, Korn is the worst act they could tour with for me.
