Still waiting on them being announced for something in Europe, they’re strangely absent from Mad Cool, Werchter etc.

I have a good feeling YYYs are going to fo APE supporting someone. For them it's a better slot probably as an academy band than what other festival will give.

I also think on something else looking at dates that Paramore could be  doing APE. They've got a window realistically after florida of about 10/11 days max to come to Europe and then head back to New Orleans area. Given they are about 20 days apart I'd suggests it's just a touring break.

They currently finish up early August with an ideal gap going on the space they have left between American dates and others previously in their schedule. Can't rule it out but I don't think they'll be a Victorious headliner, though I'm all for it.

if i stop moaning it doesn't magically become a decent booking.

But but there is better places to vent your frustration over your own blatant current unhappiness and misery than on a music forum. Especially for a festival you're going to attend.

this morning  I mentioned gnr to a couple of geezers i know who played at first pilton festival ( they've recently retired after a 50 year career in music), and they weren't impressed.

Big deal. A couple of retired people ready for the quiet life don't the idea of it.

Who actually cares lol....certainly no one in here

I just want one of the following acts, all known to be active this coming summer, to headline a stage on the Friday night:

    • Prodigy
    • Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    • The National
    • Pavement

Any of those an an alternative to Arctic Monkeys would do me just fine.

I want to see a Sunday run of The Prodigy, Black Keys and YYYs on Other

    Why do you care?

Another day. Another post by the forum owner calling out members of the forum for liking a band he doesn't. Sad really.

No, people can like whatever they like as long as you approve of it.

    9 minutes ago, Neil said:

his list its all the possibles,  that are better than gnr.

Fact of the matter is, you've already said you're ticket is going back in the pot and you won't be attending anymore. So given that, it makes zero sense for you to still continue to slate it that much.

A festival I have no interest in attending at a current point loses my interest to be involved and thus preserves my energy for something I don't see as pointless.

I genuinely think your health issues might have affected you in a mentally unstable way and it might be time to just ask for help with it.

I agree. I think we’re due a year of Foals, The National and Nick Cave as our three. It’s diverse and covers all bases. It really will be the best year ever.

Why? Because they are friends of the festival and Glasto is all about making mates.

for a minute i thought you were serious

Shared The Streets as a headliner in 2021 and they had Becky Hill billed as a special guest last year

Chase and Status Friday or Sunday second stage headliner. If Becki Hill hadn't played last year I'd put her headliner the Castle on Sunday. Might be even more crossover though like with Hardwick as well because they have extra stages to full on Friday plus the festival.

Sam Fender was a step up from Paulo and Royal Blood. If Noel didn't play Oasis stuff then he's a sub himself.

This is fair, actually. Coachella can offer:

    - 1am finish each day

    - Mandatory drinking pens

    - No readmission

    - A pretty Ferris Wheel

    - Corporate sponsorship

    - Off-site camping

    - Exclusive designated VIP area

    - $12 beer

    - Sandstorms

    - Bad Bunny

Sandstorms are rare, you're thinking Bonnaroo here.

    And you do get readmission.

You can't pull up offside camping, Glastonbury and 2000 trews are the only Festivals here I know that you can camp in and around and even Trees has altered that a bit.

The camping is also so close to the arena if you are there early enough that it's barely 2 mins walk to your things. That kinda works with Glastonbury in the way that if you don't get there early you get a worse spot.

I for one wouldn't choose Glastonbury over Coachella but cars setup right next to you, you can't beat.

I'm fairly sure there isn't, unfortunately, but I don't read the T&Cs as I know I'm definitely going

I get that. For the close one though, £220 then the festival on top is pretty pricey. Then you've got to pay to park a car for 3-4 days.

I expect that should I go following February announcement I'll just take the tent.

Definitely don't need, but it would be better. When they last played in 2011 they went on later than the other 2nd stage heads and I think that was definitely for that reason.

I suspect they played 3rd down in 2009 and felt like their show was missing something. It's a much better show in a dark environment. I enjoyed their Glastonbury sub set but I agree had they been closing out Other it would have been better. I have a feeling that Glastonbury will have them back for JP headliner this year.

I’ve seen travis announced for some festival dates… really hoping they don’t get booked for victorious!!  🥱 😬😬

keeping my eyes peeled for the uni accommodation going on sale tomorrow, then that’s us all sorted 🎸 ☀️ 🏖 🍻

Ah good job I was reminded of this.

So far I'd watch every act on Saturday, 2 on Friday and 3 on Sunday

  11. 5 hours ago, sisco said:

Of course, but could easily vs Jamiraqoui or a Noel/Kasabian.

Yeah I agree. C&S aren't big enough now though, the closer the common is getting to main stage hedliners, the castle stage has arena acts.

I was looking previously at when Johnny Marr was going to play as well a couple of years ago 3rd down. That is where I expect him to play this time.

Sigrid is going to go in that slot opposite Sunday headliner. I see that Sunday very similar to Hardwick just a bit stronger.

I reckon The Vaccines may sub the castle this time. Tom Meighan/Dickie, Johnny Marr, The Enemy.

It's definitely the most excited I am for a lineup.

I very much hope your optimism is right @thewayiam

Should get some more clues in the next couple of weeks from other announcements

Rock En Seine on the Thursday then here on the Saturday is my guess. France to England with a day between is nothing. They have some history with RES too and judging by that they are about due to play. Hell they could even do it back to back and go there on the Sunday. That Spanish date is there for a reason though. Most of those other acts booked with be touring as well and not just a one off. I could see C&S subbing them. Never played the festival before.

  13. One thing I'll add about The Prodigy is that 2006 and 2013 were the years they headlined. I reckon that considering how often they rebook headline acts and that since 2013 I don't think they've had another electronic live act like that would suggest Creamfields are quite happy with their usual lot that sells.

Victorious is definitely my bet for a more nostalgia festival like that. They rebook those acts a lot more frequent

Pendulum are a difficult one to place because it’s been so long since they actually toured so it’s a guessing game what the demand is.

However, in a year where Alter Bridge, Ghost, Parkway, Evanescence, FFDP, Pantera, Prodigy, Nightwish, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Tenacious D, QOTSA, MGK etc are all on the festival circuit Pendulum being booked as 3rd down doesn’t seem impossible

I'm going with the idea that Thursday is an extra day and thus may not be a completely full day so can get away with it.

If it hasn't been confirmed for clashes I'd be surprised if they clash with Metallica for that set.

Yeah, but wasn't the reason that festival goers needed a covid pass (can't remember now if that was the event's rule or gov rule so they had no choice about it)?

Being an anti-vaxer might make it a valid reason for him, but doesn't mean the fest should leap at the chance to get him back imho.

I'm not saying they should, I'm just saying that he hasn't used a non valid reason to pull out. Covid is a real thing and people are entitled to make decisions by it. Remember he is the one who doesn't get paid by pulling out

they say the Irish dates are exclusive British isles open air headline shows or something like that

They might be under their own label. But they don't play other shows under their own label.

    3 hours ago, sisco said:

He pulled out because Victorious was following some sort of Covid rules pretty late on.

You can't blame someone for pulling out on covid reasons. I know it might have been late but it's a fairly good reason. And he pulled two, not just singled out Victorious.

So….. this is the wording but I suppose that could mean their own shows?? They do mention that they’ll be announced for more festivals next year and we fully expect Glasto (although technically they won’t headline it).   I’d love to see them so I’ll keep my fingers crossed

I'm fairly sure that means the bands own headline shows..Victorious and Glastonbury are their own promoters, these are shows put on themselves which is easier in a country with only Belsonic and Electric Picnic being options. They likely make more by doing that.

They are that close to Glastonbury I can't see it not happening. Plus surely if other medium sized UK festivals had them surely they announce rather than hold back because they are struggling.

Victorious is far and wide the biggest UK Festival they can play outside of your Readings, IOWs. They could of course have been booked by Creamfields but that wouldn't automatically mean no Victorious.

They are also doing Dreambeach in Spain over August second week. They aren't going to play Mad Cool in July and then just make a sudden one off in Europe over a month later. I think that Spain date is a good indication of where the other UK dates lie. You are looking at for me, Victorious Saturday and even potentially Cream fields Friday or Sunday. Both don't make their next announcements until end of Jan/Feb so we wouldn't know yet.

May also be worth bearing in mind that The Prodigy have never played and not headlined main stage Creamfields and given the South event has SHM, Tiesto and Calvin Harris, it is likely they will do North too give SHM have confirmed already. Tiesto is always there and it would be of almost surprise if the likes of Martin Garrix and David Guetta didn't make up the others.

I don't think it's terrible, it's more of an indication of what's popular in the US right now. It's not for me, but of course it's not, I'm a 45 year old in the UK. Coachella hasn't been about me for 20 years.

That's four huge artists in their own right. If they were all in on Rihanna, and she bailed, that's on them. She's a billionaire who hasn't played live for seven years. They don't have the best recent track record for managing their headline acts, do they?

Yeah I mean when I say terrible, for me that is. It's interesting as someone said on a forum too that the lineup would be out Monday this week due to losing an act.

I'm 36 so similarly, it's 10 years back for the same reason. There isn't many years since 2013 time I'd have looked and not considered releasing my ticket. Their 2006 run for several years was very good.
