I'd reluctantly agree that she doesn't have enough 'hits' in the UK to do the Legend slot - or at least not enough with proven staying-power - but this is just straight up wrong lol, Control > Rhythm Nation > Janet > Velvet Rope is one of the all-time great album runs

I'd rather listen to All For You over all of them. But she has a heavy R&B/Funk edge and I don't.

Real heads would have been at Low or Sons of Kemet into Foals!

I never thought I'd side with High Jass so much

At the risk of sounding like the Janet Stan that posted around the time, it can't be denied that she has "legend" status. I'm not going to list the huge list of evidence to support it, but it's all there with a quick Google

She honestly doesn't stick out to me as someone in that calibur. Forgettable with no Michael link.

Janet Jackson has announced a new tour and finishes in the US a few days* before Glastonbury. I’m guessing she doesn’t have enough singalongs for a legends’ slot?

    *edit - finishes 21st June

She would have to be a legend to be considered.

Didn' know Tool was touring again...
    Florida, may 2023..
Maybe some names in Werchter ? ( Incubus, Mars Volta, Jason Bonham, Alter bridge etc.. ??

Think B4MV, Bloodwood, Alter Bridge, Coheed and Cambria, The Mars Volta and Pennywise will be there.

I am already looking forward to @Gossard and @thewayiam reaction when Lizzo is our following announcement confirming she is sub/co-headliner on Friday or Thursday! 😍

Rosalía as sub is an amazing addition in any case!

I would much rather Lizzo than Rosalia, that's not even close.

I can't because I'm doing Glasto, but the most exciting acts on this lineup so far are mostly the non-rock acts.

On one hand you've got RHCP who are an immediate repeat booking, AM's new album is an absolute turkey, Muse haven't made a good album in 18 years. Meanwhile Stromae's live show is electric, Rosalia had one of the best albums of the year, Fred Again is the biggest name in electronic music in a while.

All subjective of course but the rock in Rock Werchter this year is shit, frankly, aside from QOTSA.

If I was in Belgium and looking to go, I'd attend Friday for a day ticket and that is all.

I don't think Neil's trolling, there's definitely some deep-seated hatred for Axl and the gang, I'm just trying to get to the crux of that abhorrence.

I myself have an irrational dislike of the act in this very thread, and although I don't think they should be permitted within my county, let alone the festival, they'd be a popular act to throw on in the once proposed "rock slot".

You're right though, there's been some slow office days since the Elton announcement. Be nice if Emily could let us open a Christmas present early. We've been ever so good.

    I think it's pure trolling.

You can dislike an act all you want but to say those four songs are basically awful. I think the bloke has got his sniff out 6 months early.

Neil, show us on the doll where Axl touched you

Don't feed a troll man, all those songs are classics and even non rock fans appreciate them.

Don't feed slow office days, just be choosy who you help in a sale next time.

Looks good but if it turns out like this, I'm scared of clashes. Never been to Download but i got tickets for next years. For example, I would wanna see Slipknot, Ghost and Simple Plan on the Sunday. Do they make that possible or will there be clashes?

The worst clash for me would be Ville Vallo vs Pendulum vs Andrew WK. Not seen the former or latter. Personally I don't think Andrew WK would close out a stage though and after last time I think they go on the Zippo.

I can see Biffy and Kasabian for sure. The size and scale of the event has definitely levelled up, and while many rock acts would be earmarked for Reading & Leeds it's just not the same booking priorities anymore.

No. Victorious would do well to book the borderline rock acts that are current we will say with the nostagia of years gone by favourites. That's probably the kinda event I would attend. I'm not however in any rush to see either of those two or Jay Kay again.

I think Razorlight are going to get quite a good spot this year. They are certainly having a second blast of trajectory now then band are all back. Can't lie, they are definitely one of my favourite indie bands from the last 15 or so years and would I'd see again. Watching them at Splendor like 3rd down the bill felt like a highlight.

Too huge, tbf! Was just trying to come up with some acts all beginning with the same letter, after the "triple D" suggestion.

Emily would need to find some serious money down the back of the sofa for those three.

I would genuinely be happy if that trio was my last Glastonbury. 3 first time seeing acts.

I'd like the think that the passing of McVie has made Mac consider doing the festival a little bit more.

I would LOVE this on the farm.

And that's why Slam Dunk or Download don't have them. I'll be at Brixton 100%. Even if that means I've got to drive to London with a car packed full of festival gear and drive from London to Glastonbury after the gig.

The Sunday is alright for top lines but nothing for me overall but I don't expect it.

I do however think Glastonbury are going to jumo on Halsey.

Bad Religion or likely doing Slam Dunk or Download.

I can see Fred Again being book for WHs headliner and Other headliner back to back years.

The Mars Volta would be ace.

    Bleachers for Glastonbury maybe.
