  1. I saw Post Malone at Reading last year- very boring one track sort of performance. Wish I saw Mura Masa instead. Tame Impala I've seen a few times, always fab and seeing the new album tunes would be very exciting. Liam Gallagher I avoid like a bad smell... roll on Thursday.

MC is now actively replying the comments about the Friday headliners in IG. One of the actual comments is "We are aware. The wait is going to be worth it". Seems like they might be close to signing someone. They would not say that if they were going to cover ir with a less relevant act, surely.

They would never comment 'don't get your hopes up, our Friday headliner is crap'  !

There is another way to get to the second stage without going past the third stage. You can cut down past the comedy stage, it's further to walk but it cuts out the mad crowds at peak times.

True though at peak times this was nearly as bad and also I think the amount of people going into the mens toilets would mean this way was partially blocked with people. Still I dont think I missed anyone for queuing so no problems!

This year will be my first time at NOS, for those who have been before, how big are the grounds? I took a look at a map online and it looks rather small,, not that I'm used to gigantic festivals, but does it get quite crowded, how are the queues etc?

    Cheers

The worst thing about the grounds is how in between the main two stages they have put third third biggest stage in the direction that the crowd blocks the walkway, so sometimes getting between the two main stages can take ages in big crowds. Other than that, bar queues are usually okay and it feels a nice size

And its that very reason I am so pissed off with Mad Cool. Clearly The Strokes are wanting to tour as much as possible so whatever bad relationship that soured them on Mad Cool, they really must have pissed them off. Such background bollix eventually seeps through to the quality of a festival. Mad Cools future isn't looking good based off these rumblings of unprofessionalism with acts and location uncertainty. Not getting The Strokes is a game changer for me personally. I know the line up is stacked, but other festivals can match my interest while offering me The Strokes. I am bias though because I bloody love The Strokes.

The Mad Cool lineup is wholly better though I think. I think you're better off going to a festival with the Strokes if they're you're deciding factor

No, they pulled out. Mad cool their own mistake. The Strokes are a very difficult band to work with, everything has to be on point. But the offer of Mad Cool was to good to refuse. But if you without a signed contract, already share artwork with other bands, where The Strokes where on it. That, and some other issues, are the reason that the deal is off. Money or no money. The ego of a band is more important in this world than the cash.

I think that they are still lobbying to get them on their festival, but I don't see it happen.

If they continue to work like this in the next years, then there is no Mad Cool in 2024 anymore.

So if Haim's social media managers didn't cock up and post that draft lineup pic we might still have The Strokes... tsssk 🙄
