And I wouldn't consider MCR/The Killers to be defining acts for rock music.
When i was in year 7 (the 2000s) My Chemical Romance were 100% the defining rock band. I grew up listening to them and paramore, fall out boy etc and whatever your definition of rock is, MCR were leading the way on this emo movement.

Tomorrow's clue could be My Chemical Romance...

Diplo is a pretty huge name!

Call me a conspiracy theorist but Radio 1 have been hammering plays of Everything Now the last couple of weeks which is odd because it's old... Radio Ones Big Weekend last year was the same weekend as All Points East (Horrible flashbacks of driving Essex to Middlesbrough for Miley Cyrus and back to London for Christine and the Queens) ... anyway maybe Arcade Fire are booked for both.. though they'd be a strange big weekend act one can hope

The lineup looks pretty good all together imo!

Nah defo Sam Fender
A young British lad with a hoarse voice that will give you goosebumps' to me seems more like someone with ballads and also Sam Fender isn't particularly hoarse?

Today's clue is Lewis Capaldi or Tom Walker i reckon

If they can I think they'll probably put him on the same day as Billie Eilish in the hope he'll come out with her to do the song they have together

I've noticed Brixton academy tweeting about MCR a few times, sure they'll have a show there

I was surprised, but Tones and I is actually huge. She has 34m monthly Spotify listeners and is the 27th most streamed artist in the world. So I'm sure quite a few people do benefit.
Purely because one song has blown up though, time will tell if she's more than a one hit wonder

I guess this is the negative side to drip feeding one band a day, it can make for some underwhelming days rather than one hit of excitement (or disappointment still)

the past five or so announcements have been lacking a bit for my personal tastes

I will die on this hill ? MCR are for Emo-rock what The Strokes are for Indie-rock. The difference imo is emo faded like a trend whilst indie is still alive and kicking.
I've also just seen you're 30 so we are coming at this from different perspectives entirely. When I was 12 MCR were huge
