  1. From the official RW website, "Another headliner for Rock Werchter 2013: Depeche Mode. The British trio will take to the Main Stage before Editors on Sunday 7 July."

Surely that deems them not actually a headliner?

They're reportedly headlining BBK Live, which is fair as it's a smaller festival. I imagine they're headlining Peace & Love Festival as well.

  2. Just got back from seeing Peace, absolutely incredible live band with quite a devoted fanbase. Only played the top floor at rescue rooms but it was sold out, I imagine they'll be about 2nd or 3rd on the NME next year provided they have an album out by then.

  3. I'd say you're probably right, it's a long shot but there is just about enough space for a Glasto slot, but I wouldn't say it's likely, i would mean coming back here for next to no money and then back to europe.

  4. I reckon one of the other headliners will be Biffy (don't we all? tongue.png) and if I had to name just one band fit Reading and Leeds and their demographic perfectly, it would be them. Seven times they've played, isn't it? So I don't think having two heavier headliners would be much of an issue.

  5. Something that bothers me when thinking about the headliners is that T and R+L will be after pretty much the same bands (bar Sabbath) and can only share one headliner. T should be trying harder to bounce back after a disappointing lineup this year so they could probably book the stronger lineup.

Makes me think it will be similar to 2011 where we'll have an exclusive (eg. Sabbath/another heavy headliner), and then someone headlines R+L and subs T (eg. Mumfords/Biffy/Prodigy), and the other is a shared headliner (eg. The Killers/Blur).

  6. With the whole Pearl Jam's tour dates not fitting with Download thing off AC's tweet; is it worth considering that Soundgarden will get the first half of the year to tour King Animal, and PJ will tour the last half of the year making Soundgarden unlikely to play R+L at all? Just a thought.

  7. There's the the thing. Billy's ego would probably demand it.

The reasons i suggested them are that they are not definitely headliners, explaining Neil's 'not necessarily' quote, and the fact they haven't been suggested, and also I love them tongue.png

Would quite like to right the setlist though, not really a fan of Oceania.

Also they haven't played the UK in a while.

That being said I highly doubt it will be them.
