Dizzee Rascal has peaked and Pendulum's return isn't actually that highly anticipated. Agree with the rest.

Are Thrash Hits the ones who said Kiss were doing second stage at Download?

I reckon they'll sub NME tent
-
I think most mid-sized bands with 3 or 4 albums are only an 'only by the night' or a 'sex on fire' away from jumping up to a headline status, however that has to be perfectly timed to co-inside with festival bookers etc.
As far as new possibilities go.
There are bands around who are almost there on their own merit, or have headlined other fests QOTSA, Biffy, Bloc party, soundgarden, Slipknot, SOAD, The libertines.
Then there are different acts such as Dizzie, Florence and possibly even Plan B that could push the boundaries of R&L.
You have band who could probably pull it off, Weezer, Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, The Vaccines(1 more album), Pendulum(reform)
I could see in a few years The Gaslight Anthem, Bullet for My Valentine (Only after a headline slot elsewhere).
-
Going to make an outlandish gazza type prediction now.
Belle and sebastian to headline the nme tent.
-
Yeah same. I think 5 is even a push The Cure tbh.
-
I doubt it will sell out at all imo and I'm keeping an eye out for cheap tixs off ebay so I can catch Walkmen supporting, I'm still hoping they will do their own London show tho.
-
Would be very surprised if they played V, they only played last year. They received backlash from Killers heading 09 and 12, Arctics doing 11 and 13 would be dumb.
I think it's R+L or nowhere, but I'd be very happy if they're the 'indie headliner' as the other options in that category aren't that impressive.
-
Would prefer that to Deftones.
-
Django Django have a track called 'Zumm Zumm' and Everything Everything have 'Cough Cough' and 'Suffragette Suffragette'. And they say music is repetitive nowadays.
-
Something like:
Foals
Miles Kane
Alt-J
The XX
Noah & The Whale
Django Django
would make sense on the NME
-
I always get them confused with Everything Everything. Which one has the single out at the moment that's all over XFM?
-
Yeah it does still seem a bit sudden for Django. I'd say 3rd NME under Alt-J.
Miles Kane 5th or 6th main, or NME sub depending who is headlining.
-
Don't NME Awards tour acts always play:
So we can consider Django Django, Miles Kane, Peace and Palma Violets in.
http://www.nme.com/n...o-django/67406?
Weird thing is Django Django headlining over Miles Kane. They might get a bump up then I guess. Thought Miles Kane could sub NME one day, suppose they both may.
Peace and Palma Violets will naturally be in the first four acts of each NME day.
Hope none of those acts are in the announcement.
-
The Killers are the only possibility...
-
I can't see Manics returning to the NME tent, they flopped last time (in terms of people who were actually there) and NME headliner aren't repeated that often so my money would be an extended/special guest set on main.
-
Also if they didn't get that long in 2008 I can't see why they would now, everything that applies now did back then and the five year gap is likely to have shrunk their potential crowd (without new material).
-
2014 I believe, but I mentioned earlier in the topic that this 20th Anniversary of Generation Terrorists may inspire them to do some shows next year. I'd love it, they were ace headlining the NME in 2008. Give them a 90 minute slot this time, so they can play GT in full and then wrap up proceedings with a few other hits. Would be incredible.
-
I can't believe I've actually noticed this, but has anyone else realised these tangiential Hole/ Muse/ Smashing Pumpkins/ Guitar Hero conversations have started popping up while gazza has been absent.
He was holding the thread together all along.
-
Perhaps they will become the new travis.
-
Who is actually headlining Hellfest? Do we know its not Sabbath?
-
I believe Neil first mentioned Sabbath a while back but Scottie (moderator) said about the announcement for Thursday I think but of course that announcement could be something else.
-
Im still thinking that its an act no ones has even mentioned, that have either split or on a long hiatus.
