His tactics have been described as 20th century. Keep it tight , punt a long ball and hope for the best. That’s how his Kilmarnock team played. Players like Robertson andPaterson thrive on playing from the back, overlapping and quality crosses. A wasted opportunity, the draw with England can’t hide the ineptitude of his tactics.

To be fair, his Kilmarnock team finished 3rd in the SPL and were relegated this year.

Croatia are just at a different level. Got to the last World Cup finals and Modric is different class. Fan’s reaction at the end suggests they were happy with the progress Clarke is making.

Great to be back at a tournament after all this time and to see the whole Country getting behind them.

Hopefully not such a long wait till next time. I was at the Czech game and it was a great experience.....if not result 🙈

I think I made the right decision watching the Scotland match which was a pretty good game. Croatia deserved to win and over the 3 games Scotland probably didn't deserve to progress. I am just glad they didn't end up the only team not to score!

Decent summary. Modric was different class. Great to be part of the tournament after a long lay off. Managed to get tickets for the first game and thought we played well at Wembley but schooled tonight.

Clarke has done well and hopefully we can keep progressing. Some decent young players coming through.

Disappointed for Wales to get Denmark, that dream Finland game was so close!

Yeah Finland would have been better but I fancy your chances. Looks like a decent match. Best of luck 🤞

On that basis shouldnt several Scottish players be isolating as a precaution. What I'm struggling with is the science why a couple of English players are more likely to catch it than Scottish players, or is it just England being more cautious?

Yeah it’s all a bit bonkers and worrying for both teams. My main point was that the English lads are not in a 10 day isolating situation. It’s a precaution. Scotland don’t seem to have went down that road although they did prior to our last build up game few weeks back.

Not forgetting the fact that in the game these players are often right next to each other.

On the pitch doesn’t count in “ elite sport” as a close contact so back to its a precaution.

I'm confused how has Gilmour been in closer contact with Chlwell and Mount than his own teammates?

Are the English lads not only a temporary precaution. On the off chance they have it, they won’t want the rest of the squad to be at risk.

Both squads all tested negative today but tomorrow......who knows.

Think you are required to give UEFA test results 48 hours before the game so that’s been done.

    Penny for David Blaine's thoughts

😂 I remember being in old London Town to see the Stones and the following morning, we spotted Blaine suspended from a crane in a glass box while we were taking a stroll along a river.

Imagine my surprise. I waved a hello and went about my business. True story.

My address is in Manchester and I own a house in Manchester. That will be changing over the next couple of months. I am in the process of buying a pink house, 4.8 miles from Glastonbury.

I suspect you’ll inherit lots of plastic friends with that postcode come Glastonbury ticket day. I’ve always been a huge admirer of your posts 😎

Yeah my ticket for Wembley has the same, got to be there 60-90 mins before kick off.

I see UEFA have clarified that you will not be refused entry if you accidentally forget to arrive 2 hours early but strongly recommend you arrive in your allocated time slot  (apols-I can’t seem to link to the article).

Also no in stadium “catering” for the masses but a free bottle of water. This is at Hampden, not sure about Wembley.

My prediction (feel free to quote when I'm inevitably wrong ) is Scotland make the QF. As mad as that seems Northern Ireland nearly did in the last Euros.

I remember in Euro 2016 going into it thinking I just want to see a goal, then that turns to a win and the momentum comes.

Here’s hoping your right mate. Very excited for Monday. We’re supposed to be in 2 hours before ko, every ticket comes with a 30minute slot for entry. Assume that will be the same at all the games.

So how do the Scottish people fancy your chances? I think Scotland will enter the new territory of the knockouts.

Wales are in a tough group, I can't see us winning a game.

If we can nick a win in our first game then yeah we could get out the groups for the first time ever. 2 games at home helps and we’ve only lost 2 in 16 under Clarke.

He’s got us organised and we’ve got leaders all over the park. He seems to have found a way to play with Tierney and Robertson down the left and they can run all day.

With a bit of luck and the other results going our way we could sneak through to the knockout round.

Ive managed to get a ticket for Monday so fingers crossed we get off to a flyer.

The only time Chelsea have come up against City's best 11 this season, the game was over as a contest withing 30 minutes.

It will be a difficult game tomorrow, but I would make City favourites. Chelsea's 2 recent victories over us will have no bearing on tomorrow's game as it will be a totally different set of players that they will be up against.

Really hope it’s a decent game tomorrow. I agree with PT that there’s something missing when it’s 2 teams from the EPL but hopefully it’s a cracker.

I’ll go for a City win which is bad news for you mate as my predictions are crap. Enjoy your night anyway 🍺👍

Few leagues, league cups, Fa Cup. I am assuming they are chucking in Charity Shields there, unless they mean stuff he has won at youth level.

Now I know for about half of those he has been a bit part player. That first league title medal he got, he did nothing to justify getting it really. Even so, his achievements so far are pretty spectacular. Let's hope he can continue in a similar vein.

I have been saying for years now that he would be England's best player. Few people on here gave me a bit of stick and that is fair enough as they had not seen as much of him as me. But he us a truly special footballer.

It is funny as when the EURO'S got cancelled last year, I said that was to England's benefit as I expected Foden to blossom. Not only has Foden blossomed but Mount has flourished, along with Rice, plus a few others as well. Exciting times.

I think you’ve always been bang on re Fodden. He’s class. I’m worried he could destroy Scotland.

no chance not after the big efforts snippers have gone to to destroy Labour.snippers are always more keen to slag off Labour than the tories. just like they're always more keen to blame outsiders for Scotland's problems.. which of Scotland's many problems have the snp cured with so many years running the country its almost like the narratives of where the problems come from muihght be wrong.

Snippers destroyed Labour. Ok, fair enough. I’ve highlighted the red wall already but your entitled to your view.

For what it’s worth , I think Labour destroyed itself and continues to do so.

Boris can do no wrong and Scotland will continue to have a Tory government it didn’t vote for. Eat, sleep, rave, repeat.

thats a different thing those voters aren't insyead voting for a local party promising to put their local first and make it great again.

Are you sure ? Put locals first and make them great again....in a taking back control kinda way.....is that what your thinking ?

Your right in that it does sound familiar.

  16. The old saying up here went that you could pin a red rosette on a chimp and the jocks would vote for it.

See also the collapse of the “ red wall “ in the north of England not long after.

Perhaps they were caused by similar disillusion and nothing to do with the nationality of the leader. Maybe pause and think your position through.

I expect Labour will again poll strongly in an Indy Scotland. Perhaps it’s my best chance of a Labour government.

Sturgeon and the SNP attack the Torys and Boris non stop. I don’t remember her mentioning Labour much at all during the last campaign. She entered politics because of Thatcher so that’s more nonsense your peddling 😂

The Scottish labour vote ended at the same point Scots at the head of Labour ended. Someof us notice these thingsits an odd coincidence when the alternative voting is clearly about 'me'.

Even for you mate this is absolute drivel 😂

Are you seriously suggesting that if Labour simply put a Jock in as the Leader the Labour vote will suddenly return in droves. Really ?

    An odd coincidence 👏👏😂

I don't have BT Sport. Is Scholes always this bad as a pundit?

Yeah, there’s a lot good in the BT coverage of European football but Scholes isn’t great. Don’t think he’s a regular. Surprised he bothers as my memory of him as a player was that he never did much tv. Great player.

Griffiths. Especially after the last match against England but he’s not being playing much recently for various reasons. Right decision for me. He’s went with a few of the younger ones like Gilmour but we’re not exactly spoiled for choice.
