  1. First time for us at Kendal this year - James are the main draw but really good range of acts already. Craig Charles slotted in somewhere would just nail it. I gather from previous posts hes a bit of a regular - brilliant at Wickerman last year. Saw Ocean Colour Scene doing the acoustic set before James last weekend at the Big Stooshie. Great sing along which would benefit any festival in an early evening slot this summer I`d reckon.

Anywayz..were heading down after Wickerman and are bringing the weans. Anyone advise me what the situation is with family camping ? Is there the Emperors Field AND quiet camping OR is it pot luck if you don`t buy a ticket for Emperors ? Noise doesnt bother me much but its normally beneficial if the kids have other young uns to run about with while us auld yins get on with the cider/sun business !

  2. Evening All. Going to stick my name in the hat for the first time. More used to the smaller fests but decided it`s now or never ( so thats me AND the Rolling Stones ). Would be myself and the missus so can anyone advise how we go about this. Do I register and apply for 2 tickets or is it 1 ticket per reg ? Should we both register and ask for 2 tickets thus getting 2 chances ...?

Sorry if this seems a bit dumb.........be gentle with me - all tips welcome.

  3. Got tickets for Sunday for the Roses. Plan B ?? a bit bizarre but something different I suppose. The Wailers is an interesting booking.....wonder if they will turn up at any festivals in the summer. Think they are playing all 3 Roses nights. Saw Craig Charles in Preston at the weekend. Great set and would be a great addition to any fest this summer.

    Jimmy Cliff for Kendal !!!!????

  4. i know its a bit poncy to quote yourselves, but the line up for solfests been announced and its about a million miles away from the kendal line up this year, big country, adam ant and kt tunstall look like the headliners. only ones announced so far that i wouldnt mind seeing are the bootleg beatles and theyre a tribute act !

i know its not all about the music so i'll still consider it, wether or not i wanna shell out over £300 on its a different matter though.

im still clinging to the idea that friendly fires may be playing, i know what youre saying about them being bigger than maximo at this point but i think theyre both headlining several festivals this year so maybes its true.

  5. Im gonna put myself together an ultimate kendal mix tape to convert and educate the missus and daughter as to some of the bands they'll hear at Kendal this year, sell me some suggestions as to which songs i should be putting on it, any genuine fans that can convert me or convince me to see their bands at kendal-

feel free to slap in suggestions for as many as you want, just quote the list and add the tracks !

  6. Slightly off topic...... but someone mentioned Craig Charles earlier. Saw him at Wickerman last year and he was brilliant. For anyone interested he`s playing in Preston Saturday 24/3 - £12 a ticket. Looks like a student union type place so should be good. Here`s hoping he puts in a Kendal appearance.

  7. whats peoples opinions on which bands may be added in the next announcement then ? we had a fair stab at the first announcement. Looking at the line up you would imagine there will be a few more more recognisable acts to come.

with all the love shown for the 90's i see the farm are touring, playing the spartacus album !
