  1. Apols if covered already but just watched The Stones and Brian Jones on iplayer. Great stuff. Some great insights, loved the fan letters and some of the crazy crowd scenes.
The stuff from his Dad, especially at the end was very well done.

    A decent watch.

So Manchester has been heading in direction of favouring public transport users and cyclists/pedestrians over the years...20mph limits, new cycle paths and bus lanes etc...and i know it f**ks many drivers off as I see it on social media and also I drive too. So..I guess it is these people that Sunak sees as potential way to get votes.

I also cycle and it's f**king dangerous in some places and I have been knocked off my bike a couple of times just in last few months, and I use public transport when need to but would take ages if I tried to get to work on it, my kid uses every day...and we we need to get more people out of their cars so f**koff rishi.

6 month pilot starts next week with no increased rail fares during “peak” travel times. Not before time and hopefully becomes permanent and takes people off the roads.

Says Imagine Dragons did Singapore and the Texan F1 races before. Twice, but still enough to be on their radar. So, I'd say wouldn't rule them out of doing Vegas. Maybe U2 as well? Their Sphere residency is due to run until 3 days before the race, so they could well be in the neighbourhood, plus the track goes past it.

You’ve just reminded me….stumbled across Imagine Dragons on tv on Sunday from Reading. They’ve mostly passed me by but ended up watching the full set. Great band and the singer has a cracking voice. Excellent front man and the kids were loving it.

Saw the Killers pulling a drummer out the crowd at Trnsmt good few years ago and think they do it all the time.

No idea how it made the bbc lunchtime news today but obviously absolute scenes for the kid.

Weren't there a few of the bigger / mid sized festivals on the same weekend this year? I wonder if it's something to do with that, suppliers spread too thinly etc etc. It's been noted there were far fewer catering options this year.

Toilet queues were way too long across the site. Could do with a few more portaloos.

I nearly forgot to tune back in after, and then something unbelievable began to unfold. What a series. And mad to think that some of the England team were kids when the Flintoff / Pieterson Ashes unfolded

Same here. Would have missed it if I hadn’t seen a mate commenting on it 🙈 Every game seemed to hang in the balance at one point. Great summer of cricket. I’m going to watch some “live” stuff this weekend……weather permitting 🫣

  6. Also on surprises…who all played with Tim Burgess on Saturday afternoon. We caught the last half hour and chat was it was members of the verve at that point.
Also caught Spector in Calling out who weren’t listed on anything I’d seen. Had to ask folk who it was. Only jumped in out the rain. Very good 👍

haha the best part of Kendal is you don't even miss the music when at the bar or toilet! a great setup

Its only because I like Blossoms a lot so would rather two extra of their own songs vs Smiths covers

Fair enough 👍 I think this collaboration thing has worked out well for the both of them. Haven’t been to KC for a few years. Think they’ve relocated the main stage since I was last there. Looking forward to being back in those wet, muddy fields 🫣

and Kendal Calling so unfortunately I expect to be subjected to a couple of tracks during the Blossoms set

I’ll be surprised and disappointed if this doesn’t happen. Sorry if that makes me a bad person 🥳 I reckon Rick will appear about an hour in so you can hit the bar and be back by the time it’s done 👍

Went for the full weekend for the first time since 2018 and had a brilliant time.

The crowd on Friday in particular was great, but didn't see any bother on the Saturday or Sunday.

Very quick getting in all three days and hardly any wait at the bars.

Some personal highlights - The Wombats, Nothing But Thieves, Paul Heaton, Hamish Hawk, The Enemy, Pulp.

Having been sceptical I'd ever go back for the weekend, I'd do it again with another good line up.

Same as our experience although was only in on the Friday. Straight in and never broke stride in the bar queue walk before getting served straight away.

Thought sound was really good for Heaton and Pulp 🕺

The Hammersmith tickets say that they're filming those shows. Perhaps there's some exclusivity deal if they're planning to release proper concert footage later on, so refused the BBC.

Yeah they didn’t let Sky show their IOW set live. Think it was only 3 songs about an hour after they finished.

I’ve mostly been floating between King Tut’s and The River stage but it’s surprisingly fine. I went with trainers in the end and that’s been fine, ground is mostly dry at the moment, though if it rains tomorrow it could get muddy pretty quickly.

The main stage feels like a completely different festival. Admittedly I’ve mostly been watching 6music type acts like Cloth, The Big Moon and Warmduscher but the crowd difference when you get closer to the main stage makes me feel incredibly old!

The front pit seems to be packed with the young team. We got in for Pulp but the atmosphere was brilliant. Really enjoyed it. Jarvis on fire. Also thought Paul Heaton was excellent. Great gesture putting cash behind 5 bars near the green 👏

I always think I’ll not go back as my kids go now but they seem to like having an “older” line up on the Friday so you never know.

Pulp refusing to let the BBC show any of their set from TRNSMT today, either live or recorded ☹️

Pity as they were very, very good. Stage set up was perfect. Jarvis seems to be really enjoying himself. Watched it from the pit and was good to see how much the young team were in to it. Paul Heaton was also an absolute triumph.

There was a pic on here showing tickets behind the stage at Anfield, just the sides of the road end stand. If people are willing to be there to see f**k all. Maybe put a screen up for them

Get the chairs out in the car park. Call it 50 quid a pop and with a fair wind, you’ll probably still can hear bits of it 👍

Think people were a bit more keen to go to festivals last year given it was the first big summer of the pandemic. I’m sure it won’t be dead but not expecting a packed site tomorrow.

Given the rain that’s currently hammering down and that there’s a gig in Glasgow Green just now, are we thinking walking boots for tomorrow rather than trainers?

Mate there tonight saying it’s very wet but forecast much improved for tomorrow 😎

Plenty of rain during the build so boots for me 👍

Still think Dua/1975/Rihanna but most doubtful of that last one for obvious reasons.

If they can’t get or Madonna, which seems distinctly likely, could see them punting on Olivia Rodrigo or giving it Dave.

Fancied Rihanna to do it but then I stayed up late and watched her stink out the Super Bowl.

Loved the chat back in the day about how she was getting carried about backstage at T in the park to avoid touching that awful grass stuff*. Word was folks weren’t allowed to look at her 🤣

    * I have no evidence that any of this is true apart from the Superbowl which was clearly sh*t.

I'm guessing there'll be an exodus after George Ezra, so just be prepared for that and get in there.

EDIT: Got a decent priced full weekend ticket. That second stage on the Sunday is worth the bit extra.

This will be my plan. Get the bar and toilets sorted then in just after the Ezra exodus. Any idea on how tickets have shifted for the Friday?

  17. Wickerman somehow managed to book them to headline in 2012. Absolute scenes. One of my favourite headline sets anywhere.

Just checked back and Wickerman also booked Chic to sub Amy MacDonald in 2013.

We had seen Chic on West Holts that year and couldn’t believe they weren’t headlining. Those were the days before Nile would play the opening of a shopping centre.

They got less than an hour so fortunately he kept the chat to a minimum and got on with nailing it.
