  1. I took my son in 2005 at just under 5 months old. We did have a campervan so it made it significantly easier. The wednesday and thursday were lovely, the weather was dry and the ground was dry and we could just put down a mat and sit on it and chill out.

Friday morning all hell broke loose on a biblical scale. You may have seen pictures of the tents at the bottom of Pennards. So much rain fell, the site didn't drain so well back in those days. They put straw down to try and soak up the mud, I had a 3 wheeler buggy. The mud and straw clogged the wheels. I ended up carrying the buggy with son in it some times. We bailed on the Sunday afternoon. Wasn't fussed about seeing Basement Jaxx (I think it was).

Anyway hope you get tickets and hope its dry!

  3. Rolling Stones 2013, I had never seen a crowd like it at that point. Was on the right hand side near Mandela Bar and still absolutely hemmed in, the place was rammed. After they had been playing for what seemed like 3 hours I was bursting and in agony. Dancing from one foot to the other, eventually could wait no longer, squeezed out of the crowd just as the set was ending and fast walked to the long drops down that side. As i finished and got out, the queues for said long drops were enormous. I wouldn't have been able to wait much longer.

. There will be a four storey 'airport' constructed from the large mysterious cubes.

Any idea why? Or what the point is? Some sort of random venue or just another arty installation?

I Am Maximus! I very rarely bet, but thanks to the Acoustic booking Russell Crowe inspired wager, I’m a winner! I Am Maximus!!

Yep and me, very chuffed, I better go and see the Man himself now!

I live in Cornwall but I have to get the train up to Leeds on the Tuesday in order to catch the coach down to glasto on the Wednesday.. small price to pay for the best week of the year.

Small price to pay! Thats a hefty train fare and a very long train journey. But good on you if thats the only route you could take.

I would definitely dispute the second Madri point though.. I work for one of the 3 breweries mentioned above and Madri is 100% not a Heineken product. Unfortunately also not CMBC so no chance at  Glastonbury 😞

Yep My Bad, apologies. I did actually know it was a MC product but I was focussing on Heineken for some reason. As you say hopefully zero chance of MC products at G otherwise we could end up with Carling

Not great on Glasto bar names but it was basically where the Spaceport used to be.

On the Estrella, Poretti shouts; forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't Poretti actually imported rather than brewed here under licence? Which must rule it out of contention.

    Would 100% take Estrella.

I believe Poretti is now made in Wolverhampton at the old Banks Brewery site, and Estrella is made in Bedford at the old Eagle Brewery site. At least both of those were originally made in Italy and Spain.

Unlike my personal fave Madri, which has never been near Spain and is brewed in the old John Smith's Brewery at Tadcaster.

But we certainly won't be getting Madri as yet again it is a Heineken product and not CMBC

In terms of site changes, I would be very happy if they ditched CMBC and got Heineken on board.

Hello, looked at a few of these posts and replies. Same thing with us 4 are hoping to travel down in campervan on tuesday and then 2 of us will be leaving early Wednesday morning to join the queue to camp in dairy ground (is this still allowed?) + will I be able to come back and visit my friends in Bath and west campervan ?

You will need to get the Shuttle Bus from B&W on the Wednesday morning and enter the site through Gate A, you are totally allowed to do that. I don't believe there is anything stopping you taking the shuttle bus back to B&W during the festival. As campervan residents don't have separate wristbands

Unless we see a switch to Heineken as PB it won't be Neck Oil. Carlsberg are possibly the worst big brewery for that type of thing, Heineken have Beavertown, Lagunitas and others, even Molson Coors have Salt Beer in their distribution portfolio... (Wouldn't that be nice!)

I think Brooklyn was the best Carlsberg could offer last year. We were looking for a new PB ourselves last year, we found that Carlsberg are (or were) very good for continental beers, not so good for American or craft style beers.

(To be fair, I'm not currently as up to date with any recent micro acquisitions or distribution deals they've made as I was last year, because we're not looking for a new PB ourselves anymore.)

I am in the game as well and having real product issues with CMBC. The product line-up is so uninspiring. However for a table beer the Hobgoblin Session IPA is rather pleasant. Not sure if they had that G2023 because I wasn't there, but would be a welcome addition.

Personally I am not a fan of the Brooklyn and would much rather have Estrella.

  11. I just hope The Brewery is a proper bar, with proper ales or craft and not just mass produced sh1te that is normally passed off. I also hope it isn't just a replacement for Boulevard and is a proper sit down place.

From memory of visiting the site around mid April last year the build of Temple had started, although off camera you could see it from Cockmill Lane. Can anyone local confirm site build activities beyond what the webcam can see?…

@pilton digger Runs round the lanes, so could probably advise if anything had kicked off so far.

  13. So wonder if The Brewery will replace either The Cornish Arms (or whatever that first place along there was called) or that bar that replaced the Rock the Kasbah further along. (which was a terrible shame).
