I’m gonna call bullshit on it actually coming out this year, but the fact that this is seemingly happening is exciting nonetheless. Pretty funny that Jay seemingly hooked right back up with Kanye now that Kim and her family are no longer around:
  2. Not as good as the last one imo, and it probably didn’t help that they released half the album as singles and my dumb ass listened to them all, but it’s still good. Speak With the Dead was the first song they released from it and remains my favourite on first listen; kind of wish they’d gone more in that direction for the whole thing.

Let us not forget that time that Jessie J put her entire fist in her mouth for some reason. Also, that time she released music. Unforgivable.

Caught the last third of it on the stream. Sounded pretty fucking great tbh. A few messy moments in TLOP fashion but there was one song especially (something about needing Jesus) that was incredible with Kanye rapping for like four minutes straight with some real personal lyrics. Apparently Apple Music is now saying August 9 release 😅 so I guess we shall see.
  6. Aye Latitude had a few last minute drop outs that they were able to replace with pretty like-for-like acts, and it seems to have been the standard procedure for other festivals happening who’ve had last minute COVID dropouts so I’m optimistic that they’ll get some in.
  7. Damn that sucks. Hope we get some reasonable (I.e. not just any old shit) replacements. They were two acts who sweetened the deal on the lineup for me so a big bummer that they’re gone.

Yeah not gonna bother watching Kanye just wandering around his temporary bedroom whilst random heads pop in and out. Early start tomorrow morning so I’ll once again be foolishly opening Spotify immediately in the hope that the album is there and then repeating it all day until it almost inevitably doesn’t get released again.

Yeah I barely find myself ever wanting to go back to WTT, and whenever I do I have the same ‘wow there’s some great shit here’ reaction for the first half followed by ‘eh there’s some pretty so-so stuff here too’ reaction to most of the second half. Think the hype surrounding it and then Otis dropping and being incredible outweighed the whole project itself. Still though, the highs are fucking great.

Obviously all a matter of personal opinion, but Jesus is King above 808s is just ludicrous.
  11. Probably because those couple of songs were surrounded by absolute rippers, whereas this time it seems like they’ve just done away with all that in favour of this fairly bland sound. I don’t necessarily hate it, but it’s just disappointing coming from them, especially as they could’ve done so much more with this new sound instead of it just plodding along.

Think with a bit of an edit it could well be, but as it is it’s a bit overstuffed and has a few half baked tracks. But then Graduation has Barry Bonds, so…

On a different day/mood I could switch some of the middle ones around, but yeah, this seems like the right order for me too. Kind of expecting Donda to come in between TLOP and Ye at this point, but we shall see.
  14. More new Deafheaven. Meh, three songs in and I’m struggling to get excited about this new direction they’re taking. Keep waiting for something good or exciting to happen but always met with a bit of a dull thud instead:
  15. Yep similarly discovered this recently due to a late recommendation and its become a regular in my rotation. Really good stuff.
  16. That’d be a huge shame about Tune Yards, although like above I was surprised to see them still on the lineup. Hope they can wrangle in a decent replacement if they or anybody else falls through.
  17. New The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die album out October 8:
  18. Live music is back so everybody’s finally getting to release their shit now that they can tour alongside it.
  19. Limp Bizkit played a new song at Lollapalooza (over the PA instead of just playing it live for some reason). Sounds about exactly as you’d expect:
  20. Don’t think we have this thread yet do we? Anyway, Aerosmith: https://www.aerosmith.com/tour The worst kept secret set ever. edit: should say @Pastor.Of.Muppetsfound this so cheers to him for the first big 2022 scoop.
