WOMAD Caceres 2009

WOMAD returns to Cáceres in Extremadura, Spain for the ninteenth year from Thursday 7th May to Sunday 10th May 2009.

WOMAD Cáceres features a line-up of international artists including Amadou & Mariam, Alambiqueña del Oeste, Aterciopelados, Bibi Tanga, BLK JKS, Carlos Ojeda, DePedro, Elíades Ochoa, Inlavables, Hindi Zahra, Laura, La Shica, Manantial Folk, Mayte Martín, Mor Karbassi, Paprika Balkanicus, Rachel Unthank and the Winterset, Salif Keita, Seckou Keita Quartet, SMOD, Toumast, and Victor Deme.

The festival is free to attend, but there is no camping offered on site.

The festival also has a global village of merchandise stalls and workshops for adults and children.

The festival will take place around the centre of Cáceres in the Plaza Major, Plaza San Jorge and the Gran Teatro.

Caceres offers a range of accommodation options, travel is easy by rail from European rail links. Madrid is the nearest airport around 250 km away.
