LIAFA 2010


The London International African Festival Of The Arts (LIAFA) is an international arts festival that showcases local and international arts. LIAFA 2010 will be held from the Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd August 2010 in central London.

Line-up

The concerts will include the following artists and guests, Alicia Keys, Oliver Mutukudzi, Awilo Longomba, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Afrikali Band, Tribo, Jusa Dementor, 2face, Wumi, Dudu Manhenga, East Park Reggae Collective, Ghorwane, Parker And The Flow, Moh Dediouf, Ghana Allstars, ACD, Bharaque, and many more. LIAFA will offer dance, music, visual arts, design, textiles, fine arts, theatre, film, comedy and other forms of artistic expression from over 100 countries.

Tickets

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, and tickets are not yet on sale. There will be extensive free events and some ticketed events for the opening and closing concerts. The ticket pricess will be confirmed early February.

Venues

Venues will include Kensington town hall and surrounding venues including major theatres, exhibition centres, halls, parks and squares in London.

Theme

The theme for the 2010 festival is Enlightenment, an acknowledgement of the challenging circumstances we all face and the creative resolve of the local artistic community.

Ethos/h4> LIAFA 2010 is a celebration of the capacity of people to make amazing creative things happen. Both the London artistic community and the large number of international artists from more than 100 countries will come together in a spirit of inspiration and solidarity. LIAFA demonstrates the power of the arts to unify, heal and generate positivity for a community determined to nurture the creative aspect of their national identity. The London International African Festival of the Arts is presented by the Better Life Fund a charitable, non-profit organisation.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are numerous hotels, hostels and guest houses in the surrounding area.
