Arriving at 12.00 east camping

My plan is to have a streamlined entrance into glasto this year (think my clutch leg is still acheing from the 15 hour queue in 2010)

im staying only half hour away the night before - so was planning to make way there early and join queue for the gate.

Can you queue - or will I be turned away until 12 - im not panning to be daft and get there at 9 - but was thinking 11.00am

You'll just have to take pot luck. In 2010 and 2011 you were waved on until 12pm, and not allowed to pull over on the A37. Last year, they were letting you into the road towards Pyle before 12 noon on the Tuesday ...

It is also pot luck as to where they start filling the fields up from. So getting there V early may mean you have an extra hike getting to the arena ... :-( [ I am in the same boat]

There will be a designated line for big vehicles. We camped opposite some huge ones in 2011

Is there a family area in the east? If so where and how do you get into it?

I think there is - we were asked if we had children with us (we didn't), as they were directing them to a different area. I think it's some where behind the "fire watch tower" near the stand-pipe and loos at the top of the Hill of Death.

Is all the spaces in the east involve climbing the hill, or if you get a space at the bottom of e21 does it cut out the hill? Just wondering cause we'll have a pram with us.

Sorry - all the East CV fields are approached by the Hill. But providing your pram is OK on grass, you can zig-zag your way up it. The main hill is gravelled / scalpings and whilst steep is OK with buggies, trollies and prams. And there's a fantastic view at the top!

There is a family area in East - you get asked on entrance whether you want 'family' or 'normal' and then directed to the right area.

Is it closer to the main entrance? Does it avoid ques in? What is the benefits of staying there? As it's a baby we've got would prefer to be closer to the entrance rather than anything else.

It's generally a bit closer to the gates, yes. Being closer is the main advantage, along with being surrounded by other families. We were certainly closer to the gate last year (in family) then we were in previous years (not in family).
