Just looking at this and the area highlighted on Holt Farm website and compared this to the satellite image. It's massive!
Realise a good chunk will be car parking, but that's a f**kload of 5m x 5m plots!

What is the Mez Yard? I don't think I saw it last year. Such a shame The Cave/Samula/Totem aren't there any more. Samula in particular was possibly my all time favourite stage at Glastonbury.
Great point. What happened to these? Seemed unusually short lived as venues and were great. Had a great night in The Cave one year.

I never really thought about it until now!

The last 2 festivals I think everywhere filled up more quickly than before. Anyone who didn't arrive on Weds would have probably had to camp further out.

Please don’t remind me of 2010!!! Thankfully my wife is a counsellor and I’m still speaking to her about my stupidity of watching it instead of Ray Davies
I have the same regret. Got dragged to the footy as I was the only one in the group who couldn't be arsed (We're at a music festival FFS!). Wish I'd have just stayed behind solo for Ray. (kicks self)

I got 5. A personal best I think!
None I'd stick on a must see list though. But then I am very old.

I did some checking before we booked. We’ve also emailed them a couple of times and the replies were prompt/helpful and contained the Yurtel company info on the signature. I’m 99% it’s legit.

And not go through the f**kery of leadership contests throughout the summer. And autumn. He has no loyalty to the conservative party. He doesn't care.
Conservatives have no loyalty other than to themselves and their bank balance. The only reason they successfully band together is out of a unified self interest.

Figured out what the guitar part on Training Season reminds me of:
Rendez-Vu by Basement Jaxx.
YES! I knew it was familiar.
I've liked all the newer stuff, but it didn't make me immediately sit up and pay attention the way some of her other stuff did. First time I heard New Rules I was immediately captured. Houdini/Training Season are in no way bad, they just feel like slower burners.

O-Rod + (insert established act) + Dave with Billy Joel as legend. Mulling over the Saturday established act, but seriously doubt it would be Swift.

good, if depressing, article on losses by bands touring
That’s actually shocking. I’ll be buying more merch at small gigs going forwards. -

Hi,
would you thoroughly check the ID against the person entering, or if it matched the name of the village ticket would that be enough?
thanks
Hi jr18784209. Nice first post. Left little the imagination really. How’s the touting business going these days? -

Ben
Snap. Although I think my version was “ARE YOU FOR f**kING REAL??!” Followed by 20 minutes of trying to process it with a furrowed brow and a thousand yard stare, then many hours of sorrow-drowning. What a strange day.

Dry weetabix? What the hell? That’s grim. Like chomping sawdust.

After 10 festivals in Paines/Dairy and a couple in Cockmill, none of these were particularly rowdy, but there is always an atmosphere from being crammed in and overhearing groups chatting next door etc. Can't see why being in a different campsite would necessarily change that.
The one time we did have annoying neighbours, it was a big gang of youngsters close by who were intent on 24 hour partying and couldn't hold their drink, they had burned out by Friday and shut the f**k up after that.

That Sunday run is top drawer. I could stay there all night ( and might do if I'm f**ked and my feet hurt!)

Approaching 30's? Mate, I've been doing the all nighter from Huddersfield pretty much every year and I'm 50!
That said, in 2016 (because my then partner was a moaning git) we agreed to stop overnight closer to the site. Stopped in a pub on the A37 called the George (in Gurney I think?) with the plan to drive the 20-30 mins to site at about 6:00am. Of course, we all know that 2016 was the year of the swamp and it took 5 hours from setting off to get into the car parks, then we got f**king soaked setting up. Waste of time after all.

Is that right? Surely they're not going to fit all of that line-up into 9 hours? Is it not 12pm-3am??
BenSays something on the G website about it also having a full programme through the day on Weds/Thurs, so maybe a lot of presentations and talks are on then.
Voice of Baceprot sound ace. Might have to open with them on the Friday.

Sounds to me like the Tree Stage will be having the talks/presentations on Weds/Thurs in the day and the ambient/electronic music on midnight to 3am on Fri/Sat/Sun. That sound about right? If so, I think that's a bit of a waste really. There's plenty of late night venues with DJ's already all over the site. Was hoping for something different.

Is the Park - Woodsies - Park or Woodsies - Park - Woodsies actually doable? Just thinking I may have to do it once or at least one way for an act. From what I can see online I can see you can do it in 25 minutes, is this accurate?Me & Mrs 4AM went from Rina Sawayama at Woodsies to the Park for Fatboy last year on Saturday night. At her walking pace and including a piss stop, took us just over 35 minutes. With no stop and with an absolute stomp on I still think you're nearer 30 than 25. If it's muddy, nearer 45.

Does anyone know what the atmosphere is like at these private camping places? On paper it makes sense getting your whole group together without hassle, but we are a bit worried we won't be in amongst it and it would subtract from the overall experience somewhat.
Never done it before, but some pals did Sticklinch last year and spoke highly of it. They did mention that you do feel slightly out of the loop at brekky time and when getting ready or sat round having a few cans, but the benefits outweighed the negatives.

Very little to tempt me, but I know a chunk of our group will want to see The K's and the Vaccines. Might bumble along if there's nothing else I really fancy.
