This is a good point. they are not a scheduled act and I don’t think the Eavii would book them. We can probably infer why they wouldn’t book the red arrows.

What I am trying to understand is wether it is a good thing for them to be flying past. I don’t think it is

I'd doubt the festival has any say whether they fly over or not.

I would think so. There are enough helicopters etc. floating around that any high speed pass through would surely have to be approved beforehand.

Another event that manages to elude secretglasto

    Approved by who?

I'm pretty sure the RAF would just say "we're doing this" and it would be the job of ATC and the fest to keep out the way.

I’ve been messing about with 18mm ply to create these lovely contoured mountainscapes. The one pictured is an overhead panel that covers some ugly electrical conduit in the van. It’s actually a map of the five valleys (and surrounding mountains) that come together at Briançon in the Haute Alps

i’ve been toying with the idea of making a table top using this method (with clear resin to make it a flat surface)

Very cool.  How did you do that?

An absolutely incredible night. Very very special, one of the best gigs I've been to. Pretty perfect setlist to me

Was great.  I would have loved to have heard On Your Own and MOR, but otherwise it was spot on.

I didnt know who any of them were (barring B Flowers). But it didnt bother me in the slightest. I agree that Mr Gabriels, Flowers & Kiki Dee replacement were all very good.

The other one, that was the only genuine low point in the set

Who was the one who was grateful?  So very grateful.  Honestly, just so grateful.  Grateful to be there.

I didn't vote option 2 because I don't think it is realistic. I can't see how they would police it. So given the options that I feel could actually happen, I went with option 3 because I wouldn't want to see a total ban.

Stewards and security would do some stewarding and securitying.

Saturday night, the Mez bar had plenty of room and was absolutely banging as was Genoysis (sp).

My advice, stay out of Shangri-La, unless there's a "must see" act.

Yeah cheers, maybe I'll get the chance next year.  But going with a kid now so it's few and far between!

    Agree

    But "half an hour"?

I reckon it's no more than a 15 minute happy dance, on a bad day.

On the Saturday night we were in the Glade until that finished at 3am then decided to go SEC.  By the time we got to the entrance they had closed it off to manage the crowds.

At that point I decided to call it a night and went back to my tent.

My mates who stayed out did exactly what I thought would happen.  Walked around the SEC aimlessly because it was too busy to get in anywhere and then went back to their tents.

I think the busy-ness is in part attributable to people like me who think they're up for partying later, but on reflection find that bed is a better option!

Last two Glastos I've not been up for sun rise, when before it was regular occurrence.

its weird ... somehow we got put in Bronze .... arrival time 9pm on the tue and had the easiest walk to gate A possible . we returned to car at 11.30 am and got out within an hour at peak time .... my only gripe is they seemed to prioritise bronze 31 over 32 and there seemed to be a lot of nice cars coming out of there ( might be my imagination though )

There's a lot of hospitality and staff in bronze, so maybe it was prioritised.

It's a pity indeed because I can imagine how magical the (daytime) SE corner must be to a child!

Yeah we were hoping to take him for a wander all round there when it was quiet for his (and ours!) only chance to see it.

    Nevermind, loads else to do!

For the first time since 2008 when SL/SEC appeared, this year I didn't have one of the main (Fri-Sun) nights in there......at nearly 42 I'm starting to feel a bit old for it, but when we tried even at 3.30am on the Saturday there was still a big queue so sacked it off.

I also agree that unless you are off your chops on class-a's then you feel a bit of the odd one out, on the Sunday I wasn't on anything and just ended up going to bed after EJ as there were no 'band' alternatives for me to enjoy.

It's probably because everything else shuts down at 3am there's a rush on the SEC entrance at that time.

Yes I did a round late afternoon Thursday to check out the new Shangri-la theme (fun for 10 mn...), and from seeing how little flow there as there, and rightly anticipating how busy it would be later on with people like me in the mood for something loud and guitary, we decided to just not even try. Not to restart this discussion but read about people who went there in the evening with prams and had a terrible time...

Went there on the Thursday afternoon with our toddler just before 1pm to see the opening of the Truth stage, but the whole area was still fenced off.

They delayed the opening for an hour which contributed to the over crowding.  Ended up leaving shortly after 2 to find somewhere a bit quieter.

The key issue is theres not a big DNB arena except when arcadia is on sundays, which means that they really do need all these venues playing similar dnb.

There needs to be like a 10k dnb arena going all the time i think, theres currently no 'IICON of dnb' to suck up the crowds

These are all good suggestions but should be put outside the SE corner, theres already not enough space.

We had a blast there sunday night - will defo go back next year

It wouldn't be a bottleneck if they didn't have to close shangri-la every night, its definitely wide enough to handle the traffic

Didn't get there this year.  But last year when I went to IICON for Hercules and Love Affair the sound was terrible.  It was all bass and I couldn't hear the music at all.

  14. Can't really help, but now thankful we didn't park in orange.  I asked a steward if we could park there so we could have a shorter walk with the baby but they said no and put us in pink.  Parked in Pink 48.

In hindsight it was better.  We were straight out of the car park with barely any queuing.  Heading towards Wells though, the opposite direction we wanted to go in.

Lol I dont expect anyone to change there behaviour that's your ca

Im sure you have enough common sense to realise no amount of being miserable on the internet about flags is going to get rid of them.

So why bother continuing to moan about them ....

No amount of you being miserable on the inter

I find it baffling that in 2023 people don't understand that an internet forum is for discussion.

What you infer as misery is just talk.

You don't need to read the posts if you don't like the subject.
