I swear there was self confirmation about them somewhere.
I’ve been convinced, they’ve been playing for months. I even didn’t go to the Oxford gig, because I was seeing them at V?.
Has this been honestly all been some weird dream?!?!
I now feel your pain.
-
Worst: Oasis, Killers, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Wombats, Keane, The Enemy, Paolo Nutini, Jet, Athlete, Starsailor, etc….. agh!.
Best[?]: Specials, Silversun Pickups, MGMT, Biffy, Elbow, ...etc
I think some of you are being a bit hard on Lilly too; she’s not the best, but by no means the worst.
-
As I pointed out a few weeks ago, the Twang are on the 5 or 6 stage at T in the Park.
We’ve got less days and less stages – yet are paying the same money!.
Something is seriously wrong somewhere with our entire booking process.

Luckysalt I love u, but u need a hobbie or a gf!

Its next Tuesday
wait and see...

I've heard enough believe me. There are so many genres and decades of brilliant music - why would I waste time on a less than great band just because they are around now? I have no intrest in Brand New at all.
-
What to pick the place up? Brand New were gash that night. Luckily Ash were there to save the evening

Just thought I would share with everyone the fact that I first saw Bjorn Again at Reading in '92 (I think...), it was the day Nirvana played their last British date before he shot himself. I believe that the bill was hand picked by Kurt Cobain and the band themselves and included Mudhoney and the Beastie Boys.
Apart from the weather, it was a great day and Bjorn Again went down well with a normally hostile Reading crowd.

I congratulate those who have taste to think that the current line up is seriously f**ked up, but woah! to then announce that they should replace it with shit like [Luckysalts] Dodgy, and [flaminglippys] The Twang.
Jesuuuuuuuuuus! thats so messed up!.
-
Weird.
I thought that Ash were a bit w*nk that night.
Bring back Charlotte.
-
Was it?? I thought they were great!
-
They really are excelling themselves in booking the worst line-up ever.
These are playing the 5th stage at T in the Park, and they’ve got another day of music than us!.
Awful.
-
the music we are talking about just takes a few listens!

Arial view of V 2009, during Razorlights set:
<--Razorlight
_______ <-- Barrier
<- PaulDavis on his own.
BEER TENT: /--------------------\
<-- everybody else!

I don't know why you don't just admit it LuckySalt.
You’re the one who’s booking the bands.
All this is your fault.
-
In my opinion, Reading has slipped a little bit this year.
With exception of the Faith No More playing the tent, other worldwide festivals seem to have been a little bit more selective, and creative with their bookings.
I know ‘line ups’ don’t technically make a festival, but given the money we generate this still shouldn’t be possible.
-
Where the f**k did my extra £20 actually go?.

There's two types of "Pop music" to me. Using examples from V line-up...
Pop music = McFly, N-Dubz, The Saturdays, Will Young
Inoffensive, usually generic, maufactured, little talent, lazy music that doesn't really do anything for me, but doesn't force me to turn off. A lot of covers in this section, e.g. Saturdays - Just Can't Get Enough. Bands usually rely on 'eye-candy' to be popular. (Some would say the Saturdays MOST DEFINITELY fit in this category due to this )
Popular music = The Killers, Oasis, MGMT, Snow Patrol
Music that is listened to by many people, sometimes with creditworthy material and songs that are usually written by the band. Image is not needed (take the Gallaghers perhaps), but can be useful. Some covers in this section.
I know this might be a bit controversial, but it's just my opinion.
-
they used to be brilliant, but shit last few times. Probably since molko started going bald
-
This thread is woeful, and doing nothing to convince me to go and see them at V.
-
Oasis tickets on ebay, are almost being given away now too.
What an amazing booking that really is.
I saw yesterday they were saying ‘it’s going to be the best concert since Knebworth’, desperate times?
-
yes theyve booked them in the past but v festival today is a very different festival to what it was. im quite aware bands like this have been booked in the past, but i dont think there is any chance this year.
-
v wouldn't book any of them. but if they did i dont think i'd watch a single one of them.
What is your favourite/hated act?
