Sounds idyllic.  We’ve been toying with the idea of a small camper van now I’m retired.

I'm terrible aren't I, i just dump a post on and never come back for a chat 😅

Yes! Highly recommend a campervan, classics are gorgeous but an absolute pain, used to have a T2 now have a T5, much easier to up & off with a modern engine set up!

  2. Hi, hello, me again 😉

I'm giving another 25% discount coupon code off all my artwork to coincide with what would've been Glastonbury this year - Weds 23rd until Mon 28th - using www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ArtbyNaughtyGeorgie?coupon=GLASTOMONKEYDISCOUNT it's the Glasto monkey Discount 😁

I've been very busy with my actual job so there are sadly no new paintings but the ones I do have for sale are all one of a kind, I don't make any prints, so you will have the only one!

The coupon can be used on everything bar 2 x LGBTQ+ ones but they have their own coupon: PRIDE - For 25% off them - so there are a couple of non-festival ones for sale that the coupon can be used for.

Enjoy all your Glasthomebury celebrations, I will be working 😅

Yeah I can't wait, Wolf Alice on Friday will be amazing too, especially after Blue Weekend

Saw an interview with Melvin and he's said it will probably be a test event if it can't happen normally but the fact he's been talking to government officials gives me a whole lot more confidence for it

I wonder also if more festivals the same weekend will announce their plans now too

We've just seen Bill Bailey is on the Obelisk on Sun afternoon, a comedian on the main stage!  Amazing😍  love Bill & comedy tent is so rammed every time he headlines.

I'm quite happy for it to be a test event if that's what's needed to get the entertainment industry back on it's feet - I'll show my vaccination certs, do a lateral flow or pcr, whatever, just get me in a field with live entertainment again ❤

  4. 7 hours after they went I sale I just managed to buy 4 Joe Lycett tickets 😁😄

Partner lucked out on the Hippodrome ones this morn, held in a godawful See tickets queue from hell then all sold out☹ thought we'd missed our chance!  I had a gentle potter onto the Utilita Arena website, picked up 4 tickets easy peasy - one very excited younger brother, they finally get to celebrate their 40th birthday, only 2 years late 😅 it was last year mid lockdown!

Oh, I see now. Not sure how I managed to miss your further post, but I did.

Well, good luck in the General Sale.

Haha I didn't update until now, as this is the Good News thread I thought my moaning might bring it down a bit 😁

I'm enlisting the help of a swift fingered tech wiz on Fri.... I'll be at work so I've no chance - thanks for the lucks ❤

Did you manage to get those tickets? Hope so.

    Urgh no 😭

Stupid bots & ticket gougers - was on the site at 10am before the clock ticked over to 10.01 all tickets unavailable.

    It's so disappointing.

I'll try Fri in the general sale but the gov need to do something about secondary ticket sales.

  7. Not good news yet but I'm trying to get Joe Lycett tickets this morning for my little brothers birthday present.... I may be scared by years of Glasto ticket buying because I currently have 4 tabs open on my phone with different ways into the buying options 😅😅

Currently waiting on the 9am link release or presale at 10am - wish me luck🤞

I think they *might* just be able to pull it off but as they're talking to government departments about it too I think that gives it a little more of a fighting chance

I really really really hope so🤞

I thought it was the tor in the background at first but when I zoomed in it turned out to be your curtain!  😀

Lovely painting and framing job BTW.

Sun was too bright today was struggling to get a photo without a reflection

The Art Gods curse the taking photos of the art with infinite reflections 😅 they believe art should only be viewed by the eye😉

Great to hear, I've been double vaxxed today too! 🥳 I asked out of intrigue at the centre I went to in Norwich and they expect to do 1300 people today alone so it looks like things are ramping up nicely 🙂

Woop woop for the vaccines 😁

My partner also just getting their 2nd, on the 8 week cycle, I was 12 weeks.

Three cheers for the scientists & NHS woohooo💙

I have to say I've always found it to have the upmarket feel that is never really my thing. Back in the days when say Bloc Party were around you would get a lineup with sine acts I didn't mind. They did well to grab Liam when they did.

I can see it being all about the cocktails and prosecco in hand. Plus it's way too overpriced for a medium sized festival.

It's personal choice - Liam is not my bag at all, we were chilling in the van the afternoon he played - I thought it was a very weird special guest act for Latitude to have booked.

Agreed it's not cheap around £500 for 2 with campervan pass but I'd rather spend that to live in my van for best part of a week with access to entertainment than spend the same for a package holiday - personal choice.

We did get told off repeatedly one year because a group of us were chatting at 5am, lot's of shushing going on & security asking us to keep it down 😅😆😅

That SMD set was soooooo good but, even after this long since my last rave (Feb 2020 - argh!), I still don't think I could cope with the kids chanting. It's like people clapping to techno - it just grates on me!!

😂😂 made me lol... but we are sounding like old moany bastards... no whoomping and no clapping please! And don’t even think about whistling! 😂😂

Tut these youngsters coming round here enjoying themselves, why can't they just listen to the tunes & dance seriously😆

I guess so...so long as you've got a good and big enough gang with you, you're OK, but crowd is important.

I really like Latitude and have done...four?...over the years, including blooding Child 1 and Child 3 separately at their first festivals. But, the crowd there is very post-A levels and that's all good, but there's only so much whoomp, there it is I can take in the middle of a banging Simian Mobile Disco techno set at 2am.

Wilderness always came across to me as the sort of place where I would find the crowd drove me a bit nuts, something that Glastonbury and others (Boomtown, Green Man etc.) wouldn't.

Saying that. we're all so starved of just getting off tits at the moment that I'd likely not notice!

    Ben

I've always described Latitude as Waitrose on a a day trip, then lo & behold a Waitrose popped up onsite 😅

The whoomp there it is crowd unfortunately pop up all over, I was watching a stream of the Circus gig in Liverpool & they started in with the whoomping 😭 it makes me long for the 90s when you only had the occasional ooooooeeee from a crowd so spangled that was the only way to express how much you were enjoying yourself, an involuntary animalistic noise!

That said I'm a massive advocate for Latitude, it's so relaxed & there's always little gems to be found - and if all else fails Shack can be found, in the forest pumping out actual vinyl 😍

its in the framing shop as we speak and might be a few weeks .... ill post a photo once done .... I normally go for black frames but thought this one fitted a nice bright green one well ...

Fabulous, looking forward to seeing it all framed up 😁

Great news … painting the town red in a few weeks then ? 😀😀

Every nights a school night atm, not allowed to play out 😉😭 I just worked bank hol weekend for the 1st time in 15 years😮 (££££😁)

Latitude is late July & I'm not allowing myself any time off before then - got 14 months of zero income to make up for - believe me I'll be painting Henham Park frickin rainbows, sod the red 😆

Thanks to you & @ShakeyCrash for the 5* reviews 😉

  15. I've got my 2nd AZ jab on Fri & the comprised immune system partner received a text this morn for their 2nd jab Fri too!

So by time time Latitude rolls on round (all the everything crossed it goes ahead🤞) we will both be full of antibodies, vaxxed to the max & raring to go 😁 the sat night Chems headliner is going to be bloody epic 🎵🎶🎉🥳, they were the last live act we saw back in Nov '19 so I imagine I'll be crying (whilst dancing) at the enormity of it all.

  16. I'm over the flipping moon!

We do Latitude every year regardless of line-up - but yes CHEMS! they were the last live act I saw before this shit happened so only fitting that they headline my 1st festival back.

Shack have self confirmed over on Insta that they'll be back in the Forest, so happy days, add the that the always stellar comedy line-up.

    Bring it on 🎵🎶🎉🥳

Anyway at midnight I managed to get myself the picture I was after … a few f5s later and I beat the other people that had it in their basket @ShakeyCrash also bought one surprisingly …. Thanks @DirtyLurker look forward to their arrival 😀

Sorry for the very late response here 😅 I've been cooking up a storm all weekend😁

I thought the Sunny Confetti Days was you, how wonderful that Park Lights is also going to an Efester ❤

@eFestivals I'll be going Gold next weekend, as promised (when the real/proper job pay comes in) I'll also send you over 10% of the sales from these 2 paintings as a thank you for this wonderful site & for allowing me to advertise my wares 😁

I was just wondering if you printed your own postcards or outsourced that element? I ask because it jogged a dormant'ish desire to have some old photos (not festival related) made up into postcards. I guess there are firms out there that will do it. I haven't looked yet. I've kind of just finished my collecting the old photos (nearly all black and white) and need to take the next step.

I realise that this could be construed as a potential rival asking you for advice, but its not really as none of the photos have anything to do with festivals. However, I will understand if you would rather not offer any advice.

Oh, by the way - I also like a fair bit of your stuff, having just been made aware of other bits of it. I think I've seen one of the paintings before - possibly on this thread.

    Hiya

The postcards aren't me, I think the poster may have been talking about Glasto Postcards, who have a couple of stalls & post direct from site.

I just do paintings, no prints or anything, just the paintings on varying sizes & a mix of canvases & acrylic specific papers😁

So much as I'd love to give you some advice I genuinely have none to give 😉😅
