  1. I would class Finsbury Park as down South. Also think the sales at Finsbury Park were assisted by Idles supporting. Sure he would be fine at Tramlines was just suggesting he is not as popular up North as the South.
  2. Think Jamie T is nailed on for Tramlines. Not sure if headline material up North though. Seems to be more popular in the South and reverse of Courteeners.
  3. Richard Hawley or Pulp then ? Unless going for an 80s day with Human League / ABC headlining.
  4. And people still moan that Tramlines is not £50 for the weekend !!
  5. Seen Wet Leg twice - very, very overated. Go and see Biffy.
  6. Will wait for the reduced tickets the week before which is what happened with the Self Esteem day this year.
  7. For those comparing the Victorious line up to Tramlines the last 2 years have been very different. Hardly any shared acts last year and only Sam Fender, James, Declan McKenna and Inhaler that jump out from 2022. There has been more in common with YNot, Kendal and Truck.
  8. The thing that puts a doubt in my mind about this being real is Frankie Boyle being on the line up. Can't see a 'family' festival having Frankie on who is very very dark live and particularly sweary.
  9. Like the sound of Milburn, Selecter and The Rifles but north of £50 this won't sell.
  10. Festival Republic headliner bookings are usually tied to their festivals. YNot and Tramlines etc are rival company Super Struct. Hopefully different this year.
  11. Catfish and Gerry were possibles but both off the list now signed up to Reading and Leeds unfortunately.
  12. Keep an eye on Tramlines, Kendall Calling, Truck and Victorious rumours as these and Y Not generally share the same pool of acts as all owned by Super Struct and probably the same set of bookers.
  13. Self Esteem is awesome but think she is still a bit under the radar. Critically acclaimed but probably not gone true mainstream unlike Becky Hill, which is no bad thing. Think Self Esteem will be a good shout for subbing main stage at Tramlines this year. Seen her live 3 times and brilliant each time as well as seeing her in the West End in Cabaret last month and was unbelievable in that. A true talent.
  14. With Festivals at saturation point it is getting pretty bleak the same names being banded about for the last 3 years - Kasabian, Royal Blood, Courteeners, Blossoms, BBC, Wombats, Pigeon Detectives, Reverend etc. All decent and enjoyed seeing them all before but next year needs some newer blood being around and playing higher up bills. Thinking Inhaler, Fontaines, The Snuts, Wolf Alice etc.
  15. The handling of various O2 bookings have been a shambles.
  16. Gerry would be my dream Tramlines booking.
  17. Is this a substantiated rumour or just an open question ? I have seen Weller 3 times in last 18 months including the Y Not set and he has certainly got his mojo back. Would fit the Sunday headline slot ideally at Tramlines. Past Sunday headliners have been Paul Heaton, Supergrass, Madness and Nile Rodgers.
  18. I thought Octagon was quite a bit smaller capacity wise ? Their website says 1500 standing where as O2 is 2150. All for more gigs at The Octagon though and reduce the stranglehold that O2 has. I did wonder if the new Basketball Arena would be suitable for gigs as would certainly be a good money spinner although out of town.
  19. Jamie Webster (plus Red Rum Club) moved to Octagon which is a bonus as Octagon is a far better and under used venue.
  20. Just checked out the 2018 line up - Vaccines, Idles, Magic Gang, Sam Fender, Dermot Kennedy, Tom Walker, Sea Girls, Yungblood, Maisie Peters, Sports Team, The Snuts !!
  21. Saw there was a local businessman pushing to use Don Valley bowl and the footprint of Sheffield Arena. Coincidently he also has a few businesses in that area that may benefit. Would imagine there will be more measures to protect the grass next year with use of the flooring they have at stadium gigs.
  22. Paid £90.00 + £10 booking fee for Tramlines in the early bird bracket.
