  1. Read something last week about UK Snooker and the Council looking at developing something across the road from the Crucible with a walkway across to join the two. Can only presume that is the O2 site. Sheffield is crying out for something like a 4K capacity venue. Ideal would be where Cole Brothers. Flatten that and build a multi purpose venue with bars and eateries that can be used for gigs, comedy and the Snooker.
  2. Not surprised there are day tickets left. I usually hunt out some new bands but done my research and there is nothing on offer so for first time I may not go down until later, or just go for a few beers in Hillsborough. For same price I can go and see the Blossoms gig in August with them, Shed 7, Inhaler and The K's which is a belting line up.
  3. My clashes same as yours. Gutted that Charlatans and Paolo clashing but will go with The Charlatans. Probably split my time between Yard Act and Snow Patrol unless the weather is same as last year ! Seeing the splits shows even more how incredibly weak the Saturday is.
  4. Anyone any idea when stage splits are announced. Think Truck are releasing theirs this week.
  5. Same re. Milburn. Definitely not a Headline act. The Rifles, The K's, The Selecter, Sam Scherdel, Cruz, The Rosadocs and Matilda Shakes certainly worth seeing.
  6. Deffo interested in Saturday but only if some cheap tickets become available like they did last year.
  7. With turnover of £140m on the last published accounts I doubt the repairs to Hillsborough Park would be a huge dent.
  8. They should switch Jamie T and Tom Grennan really. Jamie T had the help of Idles at Finsbury.
  9. Same with us re locality. Friday is pretty stacked for me. I usually fill all 3 days with bands but Saturday looks a struggle. Saying that might give me the option for a wander round for a change rather than rushing between acts.
  10. Jamie T, Tom Grennan and The Snuts decent but the rest of the line up for a Saturday - wow !!
  11. Desperately in need of some additional acts on the Saturday which is very week. If not can see the Public Houses of Hillsborough Park having a very busy day.
  12. Not a difficult one to win this year !
  13. Purely a sales tactic trying to whip up people to thinking they need to be buying them quickly before they sell out.
  14. That's a fair comment if you have interest in those artists. Was really looking forward to The Kooks other year at Tramlines and was majorly underwhelmed unfortunately. Seen Frank with the Sleeping Souls a couple of times and would love him adding to Tramlines.
  15. Not a great deal of difference is there ? Noel as Headliner and Frank Turner. Think the 3 subs are worse than Tramlines. Kooks, McKenna and Vaccines v BBC, Tom Grennan and Human League.
  16. Seems to be a theme with all the Super Struct Festivals. The pool to choose from must be low or the cash is not there to spend bigger on the acts ?
  17. Same thoughts re line up. On reflection Friday is stacked. Saturday nothing until The Snuts which is crazy and a mixed bag Sunday.
  18. I am going to have to do some serious revision to fill my days. I usually watch bands from start to finish. There might be some nice surprises but first thoughts are very poor. Wasn't struck on the Headliners announced through the Hendos Bottle but thought with a few decent undercard acts would be a good line up. Happy with The Charlatans, Yard Act, The Snuts and The Magic Gang who I have paid to see previously but the rest - oh dear.
  19. Overall worst line up since Tramlines moved to Hillsborough Park. I usually love the Leadmill Stage as up and coming bands I know are on. This year I hardly recognise any.
  20. Hope you are right about RRC and The K's. Not so much Kooks and Declan.
  21. Obviously Jamie T is a Superstruct block booking and yes very lazy. Expect him to rock up at Kendal too to complete the set.
  22. It is Tramlines I am a regular at but did Y Not last year. Every year the highlights for me are the under card. This is where you need to do your research and find bands you previously did not know of. There are many bands I have seen a number of times after 'discovering' them lower down on the Main Stage or smaller stages. Artists like Red Rum Club, The K's, The Mary Wallopers, Inhaler, The Magic Gang, Sheafs etc. Its what makes the Festival. Your mention of Gerry puts a different slant on it - he is my dream Tramlines booking. Thought this might be the year but not sure what with him doing Leeds and Reading and the fact they generally don't share Headliners.
