  1. This post is fantastic. I'm guessing that the chap who came onto this forum after last years festival, complaining that too many people wore cargo shorts may not be in the Idles mosh!
  2. A few usual suspects touring in June next year- Liam Gallagher, James and the Foo Fighters . The Libertines have new music, Take That would make a full set after Robbie this year?
  3. Fully agree and you are right to highlight. However, there must be a way that any person who wants sit down shouldn't have to sit in some blokes piss. More urinals and a sit down only area maybe?
  4. To be fair it's a relatively simple fix, more urinals for the blokes and some dedicated, female only loo's
  5. Indeed not, typed at the end of an over indulging fantastic festival with the foggy headed blues! I've been on-board with Future Islands for a long time and enjoyed watching their progress. I totally agree with the 'Loud and Quiet' review X'd by #EOTR: "The key to that lies in the irresistible magnetism of Samuel T Herring, who surely must be the most captivating frontman currently operating" The atmosphere down at the front was absolutely incredible. One person's trash is another person's treasure. The beauty of the #EOTR festival can be seen on this forum page. So many people at the same event enjoying such a wide range of totally different fantastic music.
  6. The Good, Future Islands were simply fantastic, they never fail to disappoint - Samuel Herring was at the very top of his game and displayed his unique, unequalled stagecraft. Cass Mccombs, Wilco, CVC, The Courettes and Say She She were great. MadMadMad and Scott Lavene were outstanding. However, the set of the weekend was Bridget Call Me Baby. Their lead looks like James Dean and sounds like Morrisey/Elvis, a star in the making. An outstanding performance which blew us away. The bad The prices were above other festivals we've been to this year Ugly Toilets for wonderwife Overall, a fantastic festival with simply the best music of all.
  7. Totally endorse the comments about the toilets, as previously mentioned they're similar to Glastonbury toilets 20 odd years ago. Horrendous by design and stench. The lack of urinals is obvious, the result just too grim for any female attendees. The only thing that could make things worse would be some blistering sun. Oh wait..

  9. Three acts nobody wanted I didn’t want to see replaced by three acts nobody wants I don’t want to see.
  10. Somebody noticed your post, they've since been removed from this link as being down to play the EOTR and from a similar NME online article which also had them playing. Shame.
  11. Their single was played on 6 Music today, Steve Lamacq was a fan. A unique voice that definitely grabbed my attention.
  12. A couple of years ago I posted on this forum and received some unwarranted advice, fair to say that I've not returned since. It strikes me that unless Big Thief or Dry Cleaning were announced, for some the whole festival would be doomed, doomed I tell ye. Whilst critics only offer an opinion, the March issue of Mojo gave 4 star reviews to three artists playing: The Mary Wallopers "It would take a self-defeatingly partisan soul not to sign up for this particular craic" Mary Elizabeth Remington "startling folk debut" MF Tomlinson "The 21 minute title track brings it all together, signposting to Van Morrison and Talk Talk" The point is that not all music suits all tastes and some of these are not for me, however EOTR guarantees is diversity and quality. Talking of which, 2022 saw the 20th anniversary of Wilco's masterpiece 4th album 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'. (From Wiki - Rolling Stone ranked it 3rd best album of the decade, Pitchfork 4th best of the 2000's). Jeff Tweedy is a master of his craft, his influence cannot be understated (for example Ivor Novello winning band Cherry Ghost are named after a Jeff Tweedy lyric). Scratch beneath the surface. Time to retreat back into the shadows.. Actually before I do, I saw Future Islands in November, still can't comprehend that someone on here described them as boring.
  13. I've been attending since 2008 and totally underwhelmed by this lineup. JG recently spoke about the rising costs and it is reflected here. The bigger tickets touring next year, Springsteen, Pink, Coldplay are out of reach, long gone are the days when top dollar was paid for the RHCP, Macca, Stones etc. The 2012 lineup included Springsteen, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Biffy, Elbow and Noel. In 2011 Pulp were sub to the Foo's. There seems to be more solo pop artists this year, the rock identity of the festival has also been lost. I do have a good deal of sympathy for anyone organising large events at this time, the alternative I guess is to follow Glastonbury'lead and hike prices by £80. Our group of 8 will still make our annual pilgrimage, however the general feeling after today is that we may take a break after next year. I live in hope that the next announcement may bring more cheer!
