Alright I've buckled.
3 tracks in - it sounds like the album cover. Definite Lorde elements to the production.
I like it, but then again I probably would say that. It sounds like the 1989 afterparty.
I have also buckled - currently 3 tracks in and absolutely loving it so far.
Heard it described as 1989 / Rep / Lover and I am definitely getting those vibes so far
1st track Lavender would fit on Lover
2nd Track Maroon is straight off Reputation - the beats, the vocal style - listen to King of My Heart (which I adore) and then listen to this and tell me they aren't related. Love it
Then onto track 3 - Anti-Hero. Absolutely stunning - so blown away I had to play it twice before moving on. Major 1989 vibes with a bit of Rep thrown in.
Production is incredible and such a vibe. Hope it keeps on like this
To be fair I am a huge 1989 / Reputation fan so this is just what I wanted

Thanks - that worked perfectly.

... still great value though and will still def be going if I get lucky!

Not familiar with all the costs involved but feels a bit excessive. I get that energy etc has gone up, and hire for PA's and other equipment will all have gone up but it just feels a bit much.
The big question is whether they are hiking by 20% AND allowing the same numbers in as last year. If the numbers were down a bit it might be more understandable
-
Crikey - 20% increase! Bit more than I expected - had thought around £310

Think it’s not a bad album but I still can’t see them headlining any time soon. Feels like they will be blocked by other options.
Sadly I think you are right, but it’s pretty disappointing the other options being mentioned are Florence, GnR and Eminem! I think the fact that AM are probably booked has scuppered it for them for next year as the balance wouldn’t be right for them both to headline in the same year.

Setlists have been great so far.
I've put a playlist together on Spotify with all the songs they've played so far except the unreleased ones for those interested:
Great job - thanks for this. Need to take a break from the new 1975 one so will move onto this next 😂. This will be good listening before seeing them in December. Thanks

Me And You Together Song
A Change of Heart
FallingForYou
Robbers
Somebody Else
If You’re Too Shy
Sex
Chocolate
I’m In Love With You
Sincerity is Scary

Plus Happiness, All I Need To Hear, Wintering and two or three others from Being Funny. All killer no filler.
Agree with that.
Have an upvote for keeping in falling for you.
Sadly I think it will be relegated from their setlist going forward.

I can actually see them doing that, but probably only 3 or 4 max. There were some songs on there I really likes actually, If You're Too Shy, Me & You Together, The Birthday Party (I appreciate I may be alone there).
But no doubting I would rather them play some of their older stuff over those.
You are definitely not alone there - absolutely love that song!. There is no denying Notes was too long, but there was still more top notch tunes on there than most have on standard 10-12 track album. The main issue was listening to the album in full was too much of a slog. They played Roadkill last night - saw it on youtube and it sounded great - sounds like it will be played on the tour. Reckon there will be around 5 or 6 from Notes on the setlist

Loving it, especially as I'm a strong believer that most albums should be under an hour unless they're by The Cure.
Lol - agreed

Yeah - it's def not a popular opinion round here, but they would be a far better headliner than AM. You only have to look at Reading this year - The 1975 completely upstaged AM and it wasn't even close. I have watched The 1975's 2 appearances at Glasto in their early years - they were pretty weak and I can see why people were not impressed. However, having seen them 4 times since 2019 they have hugely upped their game since then - they put on a great show full of energy (unlike AM) I will be seeing them twice over the next few months so not that bothered, but would love to see them get a shot at the Pyramid.

Sorry to change the subject but this is what you call a Glastonbury shaped gap -
Anyway back to Blur..
Was hoping she would be there next year - looks very likely with those dates. Love the new album and reckon she would be brilliant at Glasto. Fingers crossed.

Album is bloody brilliant. 3 full listens from start to finish and no skips for me which is very rare. Love it!
All the bloat / interludes etc have gone and it is way better for it. Production is incredible and it flows really well. The 4 singles had my expectations up - thankfully the other 7 have kept that standard up and possibly even raised it higher still. Looking for Somebody (To Love), Oh Caroline and the absolutely gorgeous About You are the highlights of the non singles. Even "The 1975" opening track has turned into a proper song (albeit leaning heavily on LCD All My Friends)
Loving the fact they are going to play the album in full on the upcoming tour - cant wait to hear it all live.

Was a study Live Lounge set this. As I've maintained for several months now, feel they are both good enough and big enough to justify a Pyramid headline slot; the R+L salvos and what's trickled out from the new record mostly backs that up.
Tour sales have been a curious one, from what I've seen. Sell-outs in major central markets - London, Manchester, the like - but reams of stuff unsold in Leeds, for example.
Yeah - I have tickets for Belfast, but there are loads of seats still available. Same the last time they played Belfast in 2019, and yet the 02 London has 2 nights and sells outs really quick. Strange one.
I'm seeing them on the 3rd night of the US tour in a brand new 5,000 capacity venue in Boston in just under 4 weeks and I cannot fucking wait after seeing this Live Lounge. Just watched it on iplayer again and they are right back on form.

Really like the version of TooTime they did in this as well!
Yep - agreed. Great set - they are sounding right back on form.
When I saw them in the 02 just before Covid hit, they seemed completely burnt out, and then Notes came out and was a bit of a misfire. Since then I have been doubting whether they could get back on track, but I needn't have worried. Loving the new stuff and the new aesthetic as well - really looking forward to the new album on Friday.

Yeah the 4? they’ve released so far have been great. I wasn’t a huge fan of Part of the Band when it first got released but it’s grown on me. The other 3 I loved at first listen.
I have to say they’ve been great every time I’ve seen them live, too. Looking forward to seeing them next year.
Same here - not as instant as the others, but might now be my favourite of the 4 (and they are all good!)
Check this out - the live version sounds even better than the studio version -

First show of the new tour was tonight. Two new songs and Perry Bamonte has returned, making them a six piece. I for one, cannot fucking wait to see them again

Thanks for posting that. Bring it on - brilliant setlist. Seeing them in Belfast and cannot wait. Have quite a few gigs in the next few months, but think this is the one I’m most looking forward to. -
Personally, I would prefer to have the programme as opposed to saving £1 on my ticket

That's interesting, I would have assumed more than that. I wonder what transport costs etc. add to it.
Couple of Thousand at most on transport depending on where printed. Printing is really cheap - especially on quantities of say 150k - the unit cost is really low

Well, if it went digital and cost between 1-3 quid, that's a saving of £180-£540k. Not bad. Not amazing, but it's something, esp if there's the app for finding new bands out. Also, Clashfinder has taken over for scheduling now I think, so a lot of it's wasted.
It's half a million they can spend elsewhere if they didn't want to remove it from the price of the ticket too.
As I said, its under £1 so the saving is probably only £150K

£2 x 180k is £360k. £3 x 180k is £540k
In what world is that not a lot of money?!
I going to guess £150k - not insignificant, but in the big picture you are talking £1 per ticket. Not really a game changer

I'm struggling with your comment you haven't heard 1989 or Reputation! You actually have never listened to them?
What a treat you have in store if that is the case - my 2 favourites and both stacked full of bangers
